  1. Been fairly impressed by him since he came in. Was fully expecting him to he absolutely hopeless and conceding hand over fist but I'm not afraid to say he's proved me totally wrong, fair play to him and I'd go as far as saying I'm not sure Krul shouldn't automatically come straight back into the team as long as Elliot keeps this form up.
  2. Aye, he's just about done. Two or three more poor results or performances and he'll be out.
  3. How many times did he say "can't compete"? If it wasn't so ball-smashingly excruciating it would be hilarious.

Barkley vs Colback too. They're comfortably better than us in all departments.
  5. That Melo red was about as stupid/magnificent/unique as you're going to get. Absolutely absurd.
  6. Do we actually have any proof they fixed his lung btw?
  7. It was a massive, massive moment in the game, and indeed the season, and he blew it. Those 2 points could be huge in May, no excuses at all for that miss.

We don't have a David Batty, this is the main problem. Just can't understand the obsession with 2 defensive midfielders. Especially at home to rock-bottom Aston Villa currently without a league win since opening day. He picks the same team and formation each week, there's no thinking about doing something different to shift the onus and pattern of play. There's nothing new for opposition managers to deal with, there's no wild card to be played, it's defensive, functional, fairly ineffective, rigid systems every week and without a bit of variation it makes us very easy to play against. We're crying out for a bit of spontaneity but if we're not going to get it in the easiest (on paper) fixture of the year then we're never going to get it.
  9. That miss was worth 2 points imo. That goes in and we go on and win and probably relegate Villa in the process. Huge moment in the season for both teams.
  10. Hadn't realised Villa are on their worst winless run in their entire history. They're due a win.

I think they'll lose but not get hammered. If the Chelsea players flip the switch and score 4 or 5 then it'll just a bit too obvious that they just gave up on Mourinho. Broadcasting their unprofessionalism. I'll go 2-0 Told you. Saying told you after 25 mins

  15. We've not had the advantage of an opposition red card for 2 years.
  16. Wonder which Villa player Colback will needlessly foul in the first 30 mins to pick up his obligatory, thick-as-fuck yellow card? I'll go Grealish.

Newcastle are/were a big club, Birmingham aren't, that's the point though. That's away as well, they were at home. Are you saying that our fans wouldn't gloat if Chelsea went down this season and we had them last game of the season? Or if a team like Spurs, Everton or Villa went down? I think it's totally naive to think that our home fans wouldn't like. Our fans are spiteful by default to the extent that they boo most ex-players purely because they're ex-players. This is it, the status of the club plays a part. Sure Cardiff got relegated at SJP a couple of years ago and most around weren't even aware, let alone took the piss.
  18. Just rinsed them. The end is nigh.
  19. They're due a good result at some point. Eventually they'll come good, relatively speaking, and pick up a few points and it'll start with a single game. We're all saying it's a really good chance to pick up another win but they'll be thinking exactly the same. We've rolled over a few times this year and I still don't trust the players to do it consistently.
  20. It's nice to see that they actually do care and do enjoy it. Makes it all the more frustrating when they just roll over and seemingly go through the motions for months on end.
  21. Very impressed with the reaction after HT. Just about hung in long enough to stay alive in the game. Fucking shocking goal to concede btw, soft as fuck yet again. Came out second half and looked a different team, attitude looked spot on and they had a bit of desire about them - credit to McClaren. Momentum swung and Spurs faded badly from their point of view. Took a couple of our few meagre chances and came away with the win, that's football. On a side note, today was the first time the boy has gone properly mental over NUFC. Went fucking nuts when Perez slotted it past Lloris, never seen him like that before and it was fucking class. They've never given him much to shout about but they did today, they made him, and thousands of others delirious because they actually gave a fuck and kept on going. They didn't roll over and came out fighting and won from behind, it's not rocket science, play with a bit of heart and fans respond. Thoroughly enjoyed that today and fair play to McClaren, wasn't sure he had it in him to get them going but he has. Even both subs came on and scored. Bodes well but Villa is still vital, win that one and we can look up the table rather than down.

  23. Got to fancy our chances of a win as it's a long-established fact that you can't play Thursday - Sunday. Everyone knows this and I've got no doubt we'll reap the benefit at the weekend. Comfortable 3-0 thrashing imo.
