Given the limitations of FFP then I'm struggling to see how it's anything other than near perfect tbh. I'll fully accept that we are still lacking in a few key positions and, again, I think RW, RCB, DM and another CF would be the next 4 positions that need to be upgraded but expecting all of the holes to be filled in window is madness We've bought extremely smartly and the players we have bought are the right ages and with the right skillsets to develop and improve the team and the squad. They've built on the momentum of the CL finish and invested everything they were allowed to do so. Think some are moaning for the sake of it, that's the only reason I can think of

One negative for me, and it's only a slight one tbh, is that we've already got Tonali and Bruno on 2 yellows after 2 games, Joelinton is on 1. That will cat h up with us later on in the Autumn as they reach 5 and maybe 10 before Xmas. Yeah we got a chasing tonight but some of the cards so far have been either soft/thick

Not going to get too downbeat about that, it's the toughest fixture in the whole sport. They're still way way better than we are but we'll get there eventually. Take it on the chin and focus on nailing those scouse cunts to the fucking wall next week

City seem happy to play keep ball and make us work, very few stoppages in that half. They even let us have a bit of the ball in safe areas to keep the game ticking along and deny us the breaks in play we got most of last season, Pep's not dft. They may have a few out but they still look great and we just need to hang in and stay in it as long as possible. We'll need to rest a few too for the last 20, we've more important games to think about in the next 4 weeks

Much better episode today, far better balance between the stuff on and off the park. Still a bit cheesy with all of the 'Geordie Nation' stuff for my liking but we come across fairly well imo (apart from the SAUDI MAGS flag in the intro, that's pretty horrible). The personal stuff on Bruno was nice and it's refreshing to see that we're assembling a squad of good players and good characters too. The unity between everyone at the club at all levels seems genuine and it's strong, those squad pics after every win are all legit and it's slowly coming together. Also clear to see that things off the park need to improve asap, they've tightened our financial handcuffs but if we get it right off the field we'll definitely get it right on it too, the 2 are obviously linked. Can't wait for the rest of it now

Sure I've only seen him the times we played them last season, Chelsea were not high on my list of teams to follow last season Everything I have seen and read so far makes this look like another excellent bit of business. He's still very young obviously and the idea of him nailing down the LB role quickly could be a little optimistic, he'll need time to bed into a completely new system and organisation and that's asking a lot of any 18 year old. Looking forward to seeing him for the next 12 years though, I very much like how we're doing things and this is another hefty block in the squad we're building. It's going to take time and we need to remember how far we've come and how much more there is to do though. But we're getting there and I don't think I've ever been more positive

Seemed like an inevitable move eventually. Let's face it, we're owned by a horrible regime and we're going to get a load of stick in the media for the foreseeable. It's the trade off that's been discussed on here many times, if we're happy to accept the benefits of the Saudis pumping millions into the club then we've got to take it on the chin when the (largely justified) criticism comes our way.
