  1. Exactly - the Souness / Roeder tactics of try not to lose by too many today lads
  2. Aye in the eyes of the management according to the lack of movement or changes to try and turn things around
  3. Bag of Shite. Big mistake dropping Harper. Beye has been caught out far too many times and looks as slow as fuck. The midfield have been devoid of anything, and created the second - but having those three in there is going to do nothing but make you play attempt to play keep ball. Lack of any shape to the team and no sort of guidance or decision making from the sideline. Anybody out there prefer Sven to Sam now?
  4. The alarming thing about the game against Derby was how convincingly we lost - we didn't manage a single chance on goal at all in the second half, when we should have been going all out for not just the equaliser but the winner against the whipping boys in the league. This was too much like the performaces under Souness and Roeder when we would be going a goal down then just accept a one nowt defeat. Too many of the 'big name' players managed to go missing on the night. So far this seaon in the league we have had 1 - a match where we got our noses in front and held on in the second half (Bolton) 2 - a match where we have been on the back foot and in reality should have lost (Villa) 3 - a match we were being battered but two great goals managed to secure a point (Boro) 4 -a match against a team who were intent to do nothiung but sit back and try to nick a point while we couldn't hit a barn door from a foot away for 85 minutes 5 - a match where we coudnt break down a defence that had conceded 15? goals in it's previous 5 matches - going down to a team that were beingtouted as the worst since the last time the Mackems were in town (Derby) Not a very good record so far really....
  5. Aye - he's now available for selection. Twelve months without seeing him made me forget that he was such a pile of complete dogsit.
  6. Quoted for truth - if he was put up for transfer how many of the teams in this league would make a move for him. Lightweight donkey.
  7. Total embarassment - to lose so convincingly against the whipping boys of the league shows just how much grit these lot have. As usual we turn up at a ground where the team is desparate for points and gift wrap and tie them up with a nice bow. It wasn't even a case of who had a good game but who was the least shit. We were incapable of stringing three passes together and didn't create a single chance in the second half. It was hard to see who the odds on relegation candidates were at times. Somebody needs to be given a good kick up the backside before the next match - starting with the man who has put this shower of shit together.
  8. Think someone's been watching Ross Noble recently......
  9. I think they'll take notice of the fans and look to see who's popular on this forum. So that'll be either Melissa Theuriau or Georgie Thompson
  10. Wonder how the "family issues" would have affected him this time last year when he was out injured long term. Odious little shit. Should try and scalp whichever club are stupid enough to make a bid for him.

  12. Our whole team didn't score a goal at St James since February. He ended the season badly, that's very true, but Berbatov, who is so highly rated by fans across the country, only scored once against a top half team, and much like Oba he had his dry and purple patches. I don't think it's sufficient reason to peddle a young foreigner after his first season in England. You could just as easily say Gudjohnsen has scored 7 goals in the past two years - the same as Owen - and say he too has been "found out". Martins for me is a bit of an enigma. I've rarely ever seen a player of such contrasts. At his worst he gets even the basics all wrong, at his best he's pretty much unstoppable. If he were a few years older I'd say "sell" but I'm willing to take the chance his value dropping a few million to see how he turns out. Martins had one purple patch - December - scoring six goals. That's the sort of run that Robbie Elliott went on before he got peddled first time round. World class striker I am worried that he has been 'found out' fairly quickly. Would you take James Beattie as a replacement for Michael Owen? Kevin Phillips had his season in the sun. Michael Ricketts. All strikers touted as the next big thing but all with extremely short internation careers for some reason. From what I witnessed really do not think that he has what it takes to be a top class striker - one of the great assets is to be able to make an instictive run such Owen v Reading / Chelsea. The team was able to pass a through ball for him but incapable of doing it for Martins for almost an entire season? How did that happen? These are the sort of things that you cannot really coach into a player. Martins hasn't got it and I'm damned if Shola Ameobi has it!!!! His decision making is dreadful, runs down blind alleys before losing the ball. But with his passing ability, getting the ball to him if he's not 15 yards out facing goal last season was, to be honest, a waste of the ball. Do I think that Gudjonsen is a good replacment? For overall team work then yes? Goalscoring? Questionable. But if Martins has been 'found out' then next season could become a season of diminishing returns....
  13. Cannot see Wenger going for him as he doesn't seem like an Arsenal type of player - lousy first touch, passing, dribbling abilities. Has scored some great goals for a nice YouTube video but his overall team play is weak at best. You can say it was down to the managment if you will, and it was how he was asked to play but you would think that you would have seen at least some sort of ability to do the basics to a level above Sunday league. For a player who is apparently almost as fast as your top class sprinters he is a player who appears very static - almost to a point that he seems to be marking the defender at times. Watch the likes of Bellamy and they are pulling defenders all over the place - in fact Michael Owen in his few performances showed what a good run could do. Eleven league goals does seem a reasonable return, but when you consider that they were spread over eight matches, and only four of them have come in 2007 he doesn't look overly prolific. The lad's contribution to matches when he hasn't scored hasn't exactly set the world alight. One of the most damning statistics - no goals at St James since February. Has he been found out already?
  14. Good player Deco - would get hammered in the Premier League though. Most likely to not get many of the 'fouls' that he draws in La Liga either - especially in a Newcastle shirt.
  15. What is the point of having rules if useless fucker's dont enforce them.
  16. Howay ref are you fucking blind
  17. The only way we'll get through is if they miss...
  18. Is Carson jumping out of the way of the ball?
  19. Maybe he should try saving from the edge of his area like the dutch twat.
  20. Gerrin you fuckin! bastards!!!!
  21. Dutch cunts!!! Never mind the forward diving cheat of a goalkeeper... that's within the rules as well...
  22. Ooooh - that one's gonna take Waddle's out of its orbit
  23. Never beat 'Gay Meadow' really. Unless you call a staduim 'Gay Cruise Cottage'. Or maybe 'Craving Cottage'. Or the 'Stadium of Light'.
  24. "Ohh Jason no!" as Macateer skyed a cross into the stand in the second to last relegation battle on Metro radio - got a rise out of one of the children of the damned on the bus home as well that night. It was a home Mackem game on a Sunday as well so I haven't a clue how he knew what I meant
  25. It's a bit like Fred West complaining about having a few bad apples in the neighbourhood.... But nothing will suprise me about the 'man' - he was out on Sky a week after being sacked commentating at a Newcastle match saying how our squad was a thin as fuck and Emre was too small to be a Premier League player. Nobody pulled him up then either strangely enough. Watch as little of any match build up as I can nowadays. Will watch Discovery or Kerrang up till the closest time to kick off as possible now, for any football on any channel to avoid the odious jobs for the boys twats that are on now.
