I was wondering 'How the hell did you manage to get hold of Allerdyce's Scientific Play-Book' then noticed that Smth and Butt were too far forward. This has been taken from Don Howe's 'keep the ball in the air as much as possible as the ground is too unpredictable' play-book from the looks of it.

With regard to the original question, in the season we got promoted it was a worthless piece of shit. Since then, however, it has been one of the main trophies worth winning in the whole league, especially if The Mackems or Smogs win it. It's a lot like the annual 'North East Top Dogs' comptetition that gets cancelled if The Mackems or Smogs decline to put an entry in.....

After years of watching Newcastle, I would say that incapable manager + puzzled players \ team in the title hunt = 3-2 Newcastle Win
-
The lad is the new Lee Bowyer - trreaded like shite on and off the pitch.
-
Course you do when you smash it so far and fast as we do!

Martins could if he could pass, dribble and control the ball. Don't forget 'make sensible runs........'

Should Sam Allardyce get the Sack? (Main Page Poll)
Spider Jerusalem replied to madras's topic in Football
It's all well and good saying that we need stability, but with this guy at the helm there's none of that anyway. He is making some of the most baffling selections since Souness went a bit mental (Zog on the right and Milner on the left), baffling substitutions, giving the same pre-match talk to the papers ('we need to contain them' - the only stable thing he does) and not learning from what's gone wrong in the past. What has he seen that has him convinced that Smith should play in midfield, Geremi is worthy of starting place, hoofing the ball up the field is actually going to work this match. All the talk of his net spend and he needs to buy players - one of the five players that he paid money for, which by all accounts is his most expensive signing, is lucky to even get a spot warming the bench. Who would give him any of their cash judging by what he's brought in so far? I wasn't expecting us to set the world on fire this year, but would have liked some sort of improvement. Instead we have a team incapable of basic skills such as passing the ball to a guy wearing the same coloured shirt as you and looking like you all met for the first time in The Strawberry at 2:30 that afternoon. Sack. And kick him in the bollocks as well for good measure. -
Are you saying there's some kind of anti-Brummie conspiracy in the ranks of ST holders? Sorry, just wanted responses from people who are seaon ticket holders or attend matches on a regular basis who are in agreement with our southern friend TBH
-
And how many people are in the Brummie love in are actually season ticket holders who have actually invested cash into this team?
-
Well, if I was Arsne Wenger then I would get my stongest attacker to get close to Cacapa and lean onto him at any opportunity when the ball is played forward. See if that made him crack. But then if I was Arsne Wenger I would be a hell of a lot richer and be nowhere near a Newcastle United message board.

Nil - Something If it's the regular Arsenal team that come up here then I'll go for one. If the proper Arsenal team then I dread to think.

How come it is like this with some managers? Every fan and pundit can see something, but the manager just can't? So frustrating! s*** thing is, i thought those days were behind us when we got sam in. There have been times with everyone of our managers where they seem to be the only one not seeing what everyone else does, that includes Keegan and SBR. I am pretty sure it is the same with every other club manager, Ferguson, Wenger, Mourinho. All of them make decisions that utterly baffle most fans. yeah, there's probably a lesson to be learned here, if you think about it....... Aye - all fans are wrong and the manager is completely right. i was thinking more along the lines of these people get paid to see things that we dont, for whatever reason, based on their records of having done so in the past, i'm just playing devils advocate, you can boo me if you want, you're entitled to Why would I want to boo you - I'm agreeing with you entirely.

OI!!!! Don't give him ideas

Pity that his opinion on the local TV show was 'oh.... er... aye... it's the players fault and we hope that the Mackems and Smoggies do well this weekend'

Seconded! -
Aye - then he can put Carr at left back and Charlie at right wing. That's good Sam thinking....
-
I'm going for a 4-5-1 GK: Given RB: Carr CB: Beye CB: Faye LB: Charlie RW:Smith (you forgot that he cannot drop his favourite butt-boy) CM:Geremi CM:Butt CM:Emre LW: Milner (or any fit right footed player) Lone Striker: Viduka Where Geremi and are interchangeable, and offer nothing to the team with the ball banjoed up the field towards Viduka to utilise his speed and ability knock the ball on to the players who are making occaisional runs over the half way line. Before going a goal down and it all turning to shit and nobody looking like they have any idea on where they are supposed to be playing or what they are supposed to be doing. I think Sam has it down in his book as the 'Hail Mary, I hope to God I fluke this one away tactic'.

'I Stayed At Newcastle Too Long' Says Defender!
Spider Jerusalem replied to Lemmy's topic in Football
Overall he was a half-decent defender. Unfortunately he was easily distracted by shiny things and made the most basic f*ck ups in most matches that he played which completely f*cked the other 89 minutes he was on the field. His ability to head the ball vertically on the edge of our area in almost every performance last season was probably the only sign of any new skill picked up while he was here. Pity Babayaro and Carr's contracts hadn't finished last season as well. Wonder which gormless gits will pick them up. -

Divvent worry - you've only got a month before the BBC reel it out again - as they have done for the past thirty-odd years. -
The WCQ draw - Croatia again

With the right man in charge we should have walked the last qualifying group, so this time round as long as the FA don't pick another Graham Taylor clone yes man....... -
Well this what I said 6 1/2 months ago and its all been a bit predictable. What do you class as efficient football then? where did "efficient" come from ? Efficient meaning do what was required to win, rather than doing it in a stylish way. yes i get that bit,i didn't realise efficiency had been mentioned anywhere that's all. Aye - it was on the German Mercedez Benz Newcastle forum. It's just that we are not playing any sort of controlled football in any form at the minute - probably only for the first 45 minutes of the match against Tottingham so far this season. It just seesm that most of the results so far are more from luck than judgement. Probably a symptom of having a manager who believes in percentages than trying to batter a team into submisson. just spotted the efficiency bit and nice use of "ing" in tottingham,(see i pick up on the subtle jokes rather than the actual points of posts). you're almost right about the only time we played controlled football,we did against tottingham but remember how they were then ? west ham 2nd half for about half an hour and everton for about half an hour we've been organised, committed and PLAYED FOOTBALL. I'd take almost right - makes me over qualified to be a Premier League manager though and definitely out of the running as a national coach. no chance, you've got to be a complete prick to take that job. OK then I'm at least 50% qualified then.

Nail your colours to the mast: Sack or No Sack?
Spider Jerusalem replied to Keefaz's topic in Football
mourinho could outspend anyone to achieve his aims...sven has done well so far after spending wads. most nufc fans aren't expecting that but we know we should be performing a lot better with the squad we have. it hasn't even been the results it's been the performances. http://images.jupiterimages.com/common/detail/97/51/22595197.jpg -
