Exactly, we can barely scrape together 11 people to put on the pitch today

Times like this I do sometimes get the paranoid feeling that we're watching a slow-mo Leeds impression unfolding before our very eyes...
-
Only hope is that it's an emotional respose to the 5-1 thrashing (you could see how furious he was) and he might reconsider when it's died down. Wan't it only a week or so ago he said he wanted to finish his career here?

Some of the fawning comments on that article make me want to lose my lunch.

Some guy in the Mirror going on about how it'll be "Eating Stevie up inside", poor fella. How did he become the victim in this?
-
If he says he didn't do it he's been stitched up and victimised, if he admits it then that will have been an incredibly brave and honest thing for him to do.

Some legal guy on the news saying "Of course if there are mitigating circumstances, such as the defendant being of good character, there will more likely be a lenient, non custodial sentence" ie, he'll be OK cos he's good old Stevie G, English Hero.

If you mean why weren't people furious about it or wailing from the rooftops, it's because it was pretty much expected. You could see after the first 20 minutes that there was an absolute gulf in class and the players we had available just weren't good enough. I don't really think it was for lack of trying, some of our players had a decent game, we were just outclassed. Our best chance of getting a point would have come from playing like we did against Chelsea, getting 11 men behind the ball and defending for 90 minutes, but we can't really do that at home because the crowd would go mental and interpret it as not trying to get anything from the game, then at the end they'd be booing because we'd not even tried, rather than still singing at 5-1 down (thought the atmosphere was pretty great last night for a home tonking)

Surely damping down the mob by saying "OK, I hear you, you want me out and I'm going" was the ploy.
-
They've made exactly the same mistake we did, when the club thought that the sudden surge in form was down to the presence of Roeder rather than the absence of Souness. They must have a lot of faith in him to knock back the... How many was it, 60 world class managers they had applying for the job?

Resident Spurs fan on another forum: "Top four next season" - Four words which should be translated into latin and inscribed permanently under the Spurs club crest.

From Steve Folan's Bebo I can see how he and Nile would get on http://www.bebo.com/Profile.jsp?MemberId=665372694

It's the area of the ground with the best acoustics, as we found out when we put the away fans there

Are these bouncers allowed to bitch if they end up getting their heads kicked in up there for pointlessly throwing their weight around? Is throwing there weight around trying to apply the rules of entry to SJP? By punching people in the face and wading into crowds to throw people out at random? There wasn't any trouble until they started causing it. If they singled out you, would you sit down and look at the back of the person in front of you instead of the match?

The Football Shirt Hall of Shame http://www.premiershirts.net/hos.htm A few of ours make the cut. The late 80s/early 90s was the heyday of disgusting shirts I reckon

Are bouncers allowed to punch people like? Why did he get arrested then? Edit: Are these bouncers allowed to bitch if they end up getting their heads kicked in up there for pointlessly throwing their weight around?

Went to the match with two Spuds fans, what a sickener for them Wish we could play Spurs every week, when was the last time they took a point off us? Anyone? Love reading their comments on youtube and message boards after every victory "FUCKING NEWCASTLE SHIT FUCKING SMALL SHIT FUCK CUNT CLUB, SHIT FUCKING TEAM, ALWAYS FUCKING BEAT US EVEN THOUGH THEY'RE SO FUCKING SMALL AND SHIT GAAAAAHHH!"

On the plus side, it makes Keane look like a right prannet.

He looks like a pantomime dame.

While it's quite probable he's thinking that, why on earth would he tell his teammates that and then why would his teammates go and tell the media? At a guess, they've just pulled that out of their arse.

Gah, would have liked them to stick with him and sew up one of the relegation spots. Hope they're not in the midst of a new manager bounce when we play them next month. Oh well, the mackems now have a rival in the mediocre-to-middling manager market at least.
