And indeed the headlines have just been on, main story is that Harry has had no contact with Newcastle.
-
Based on what? He's surely the favourite for the job. Flying to Newcastle tonight (SSN) Really? No, he's just being a dicknose. Edit: Watford have however rejected a £4m bid for Marlon King from Fulham however.

Deco.
-
Sounds promising, although we said Allardyce would remain as manager despite reports linking Sam's arse with Mort's shoe.
-
If it's a Brit, about 12-18 months.
-
Aye, might put a fiver on us to spice things up.
-
Yeah, because all Sam did wrong was not win the Champions League in 8 months. The crowd here are easy to please. All they wanted was a glimmer of progress. Sam couldn't even provide that.It wasn't because we weren't challenging top four, it wasn't that we weren't beating Liverpool or Arsenal because we didn't have the players yet. It was that we were going 90 minutes against Reading, Wigan, Derby, Portsmouth, the Mackems and not looking for 1 second like we had any chance or intention of winning the match. No mid-table club would have put up with that sorry state of affairs.

I really see Shearer as being more of a Daglish type manager than a Keegan.
-
yes but would you have been delighted if we'd won more but came out after every game like we did after birmingham knowing we didn't deserve it ? Chelsea fans were livid at our "ugly" long ball football we played against them, but we still deserved something. Results would have given him more time, taking a decent stab at it and not coming away with anything (like we did at blackbunr) would have given him more time. But about 80% of the time we were producing neither.
-
I would have been delighted to have been been watching "win ugly" football over the past 8 months.
-
Second paragraph could do with a retrospective re-write like
-
Ominously reminds me of similar posts aimed at Graeme's nay-sayers upon his appointment... I don't think we need a nutural leader mind
-
I wanted him sacked if we had already lined up a decent replacement because I didn't think he'd earned a 5 year stab at turning us around after his Souness impression. But if the decision was "Should we just sack him and then go and see if we can get Moyes or Hughes or someone?" then we should have stuck with him until we could get someone worth kicking him out for.
-
I'm sick of these clever clogs who support other clubs and haven't watched our performances all season saying we're never going to get anywhere sacking managers after only xxx, shouldn't have sacked souness, roeder, sam etc without giving them 5 years to turn it around because now no-one will take the job etc etc. Wonder if they feel the same about McClaren getting the boot.

My view over the past few months is that Allerdyce needed to go and was showing not even a glimmer of changing things around. But I also maintained we should only part company with him if we could find someone better to replace him with. Zany, I know.

Oh for fucks sake, mong parade on SSN again. "I think Redknapp would do well, although I don't know much about him." How can you not know much about Redknapp if you follow British football?
-
SSN outside SJP now. Interviewing some guy still believing the brit only angle. Lots of money on Moyes. Gimp now says he wants Keegan and "everyone would be joyus" and wouldn't mind finishing fourth bottom season after season if they were entertained.
-
I think they should keep it hushed up until 5:15 on Saturday, when the new manager walks down to the dugout, complete with fireworks and theme music. It'll be like Royal Rumble where you don't know if it'll be Steve Austin or Maye Young. And if it's Jose he should powerbomb Fergie through the Spanish announcers table.
-
This is coming from "a known admirer of Redknapp"
-
I was thinking that. Maybe the reaction on here caused the backtracking on only wanting and English manager
-
Plausible deniability. Newcastle and Redknapp would be in big trouble if this doesn't appear to unfold in a manner that follows standard protocol. That would be cracking. We have to pay through the nose to compensate Souness' employers, we have to battle with authorities to get them to allow Roeder to manage us without the right badges, we had argue with Bolton about if Sam said he wasn't leaving to manage another club and then have to defend ourselves against allegations of dodgy dealings to secure Redknapp. We pull out all the stops to get the wrong man at this club.
-
If we've got no-one in the wings then after yesterday I think anyone actually wanting the job would send my Purple Ronnie socks flying up in the air like on the War of the Worlds remake.
-
What next for Sam then? Punditry? A lower league club? Taking over the club whose manager we poach? Back to Bolton?
