Should be a poll but I think it's gotten a little out of hand. I'm fine with the existence of it, and use of it, and it is part of the game, etc etc but we're doing it every. single. time. and it just gets a bit much.

it's not that I'm opposed to dragging it out occasionally but it feels too much a standard part of our game.

I think it's sound tbh. It's maybe not exciting but it's the pragmatic option. Lots of starting XI and squad contracts expiring in the next 2 years. What they do between windows w/r/t handling these will probably give us a good indication of their intended speed - Contracts ending 2023 - Dummett, Shelvey, Ritchie, Clark, M. Longstaff Contracts ending 2024 - Trippier, Schar, Lascelles, Wilson, Manquillo, Wood, Almiron, Burn, Kraft

Not directed at anyone in this thread at all but I wish the people who spent all their time winding up newcastle fans about it would instead harangue people with actual power - i.e. the govt and fa - who allowed this to happen in the first place. i feel like the online winding up is a consolation prize taken because the govt/fa have repeatedly and resoundingly made clear they don't give a fuck what MBS/KSA get up to as long as the cash/oil keeps flowing. You can have a plan that's not good (yes, even Eddie Howe can). You can also not have a good plan B. And yes, you can have a good or great plan but lack the quality to implement it. To a degree all 3 were true today. You favor the 3rd option, I favor the first. We did not appear to go in with a specific plan to break them down, nor figure one out during the 90 minutes when whatever we did prepare didn't really work. Also our bench is shit.

I'm disappointed but i'm not on team #sackEddie or anything, not by a long shot. I simply feel we could have done better with what we had (the players) and when you feel that way you look at the lot setting up the players with a game plan and ask questions there.
