  1. I had those thoughts when odds started dropping this afternoon but looking through the statements on the official site leaves you in no doubt that someone at the club was happy to let him go at the time. Thing is Ashley was out the country then wasn't he?

    If...

Very dangerous game they are playing now. If we go another 15 hours with no news from the club, and this ends up just being a stunt, then the protests tomorrow could get very very messy. But hopefully, Keegan will come again in a helicopter at lunchtime tomorrow, and if that is the case, then all is forgiven as far as I am concerned.
  3. Can someone please confirm he is not coming back before, oh wait to late 'And it looks like, I'm falling, all over again.........' :frantic: :frantic:
  4. Shola placing us in a relegation battle?
  5. I'm against a boycott, but if I was to protest over anything, it would be the way the club is treating the fans. Am I right in thinking that since this kicked off around 2 weeks ago we have had no one from the club telling us anything other than those awful 'club statements' they put on the official site. I understand it is not Ashley's place to communicate but what about the chairman, or have we not got a press officer. Someone who could give us the slightest idea what is going on.

    Jonas Gutierrez

any idea where these latest reports of just bruising are from?
  7. I'm genuinely confused now, are those who are going to the game having paid for season tickets already the sheep? or is it those who have paid specifically for this game? or could it be those who have season tickets but who aren't going? or is it maybe the group I am in, those who haven't attended games regularly now for a few years for whatever reason (be it geographical/cost/whatever) and who aren't going to this one either?? Another question, to those who have season tickets but are 'boycotting'. Do you accept that the attendance is likely to be at least as big as the Bolton game? And if so, what hope is there of any boycott making any point? And if you have already paid, and the boycott makes no point, then what is the point?
  8. Not sure if it's been reported anywhere on here, but apparently (article in Belfast Telegraph) only 4 shareholders turned up to Sportsdirect.com's AGM. As expected Ashely refused to talk about Newcastle at the meeting.
  9. Surely Setanta don't have exclusive coverage of the FA Cup final do they?
  10. Alan Brazil, who has lots of Tottenham connections, was talking on Talksport this morning as though Poyet is a done deal. He also said that Paul Kemsley is very very influential at Newcastle, and it was him who convinced Ashley to bring in a DOF.
  11. Name me one, just one Newcastle fan who would take either Curbishley or O'Leary over Terim. I have no particular reason to want Terim myself, but at least he is not on my 'not in a million years' list.
  12. Care to elaborate? The name rings no bells with me.
  13. I take it there is no announcement from the club yet?
  14. Worst case scenario: Ashely publicly chases Shearer in the press for a few days, Shearer turns us down, if there ever was any decent interest in the job it is ended by being seen as second choice, Wise gets then job as caretaker boss for Hull and is eventually giving it full time cos there is no other option. Either that or David Bloody O'Leary!
  15. One thing I can't get my head round is whether or not Ashley wants to sell up. You would thing that with the Man City deal and the other money in the middle east just itching to be spent on a premier league club, that now was the ideal time to sell. So if he wanted to sell, surely spending another £10m or £20m in the summer window would have made us much more attractive to takeover, with us likely pushing for Europe. By not doing that does that mean there is a long term plan? Becasue if there was you would agin think it may involve success. The only conclusion I can come to is that they plan on making small amounts of money through TV deals and the like as well as buying potential, to sell on when at peak market value. Not a very sobering thought! So on that, I'm off to get very very drunk.
  16. The only thing Keegan has been doing over the last few days is making sure he isn't out of pocket by leaving. What does Keegan get by resiging like?
  17. To me, right now, that is looking like the best thing possible.
  18. The way the club have dealt with this, to both the fans and to Keegan himself, is nothing short of a disgrace. I wonder if Mort had seen things coming and left because he didn't like the way things were going.
  19. Well said, this whole saga has massivley taken away from the fact that the club fucked up majorly at the end of the transfer window, something which will become apparent with another couple of injuries. Having said that, the simple fact is that come Christmas, with a new manager settled in (assuming they aren't THAT stupid and appoint some one like Wise) then most of us will have moved on and be fully behind the team again, hoping for a European spot and a cup run.
  20. I don't particularly care who it IS, just have an ever growing list of who it had better NOT be: Wise Poyet Bruce O'Leary Venables McLaren Redknapp Curbishley Jol Coleman Strachan Hoddle
  21. I wonder what Barton is thinking right now. He has his hearing tomorrow doesnt he? I don't suppose it matters anymore as I can't see him ever playing for us again anyway. Truley gutted about Keegan, but maybe not as bad as I would have felt if it had been confirmed staright away. It's been inevitable over the last 24 hours. with not a word coming from Keegan. It is very hard to imagine supporting Newcastle without him, but I am sure that feeling will pass, with time. That is unless they appoint someone like Wise, Poyet, Venables, Jol or anyone with even the slightest link to Spurs/London. I can't see any way they have left to turn now but foreign, and I would guess at Spanish.
  22. Paddy Power have suspended betting on next West Ham manager, anyone heard anything concrete? After rumours all over Belfast, I was trying to get some money on Strachan. As I said in the Sunderland thread, this is rumoured to be followed up by Keane to Celtic and O'Leary to the mackems. EDIT: This is all just talk amongst Celtic fans here, not ITK at all, and before anyone puts money on it, I will remind you of my prediction that Mark McGhee was going to replace Allardyce here!!
  23. There is a LOT of talk in Belfast at the moment that Strachan is heading to West Ham, Keane going to Celtic and wait for it, this is the best bit, O'Leary to the mackems!
