Robbed a point there really.

I'll give you Leao but the rest, pff. Their squad is pretty ropey at the minute, half their team is the Chelsea bench from the 2020/21 season. I agree that they're favourites but I think the occasion is more likely to be our undoing rather than their team.

Bit of a step up when the biggest game of the season is usually against Ashington in the Northumberland Senior Cup final or whatever the hell it's called.

Very much so, really enjoyed it.

Let's hope he doesn't make a critical mistake tomorrow, like holding up the wrong numbers when substitutions are made. Chaos could ensue.

Yeah went 2 down and the hatred was building really nicely, then Cisse scored twice and everyone forgave Uncle Alan while I fucked it off for a decade in response.

The only one I saw offered was over 2.5 each team.

It does make me laugh when I think of how much stick Southgate got in the Euros for not using Sancho. A shite Jacob Murphy.

285 away fans went to watch the reserves in Wrexham? Wild.

Getafe are going to have some team this year.

What would possess anyone to tune in to watch some weird little nerd watching a football match?

Took an injured player off then get beat 3-0? Dunno why he didn't think of that.
-
That is a ridiculous decision

Yes he cut the ball back into the perfect area where he'd expect someone to be running into and none of them were anywhere near.

I don't think I've once heard Solly March's name mentioned in terms of an England call up, I thought he was absolutely incredible today.

Occasionally Brighton get an arse-kicking as well. They did last week and I've never seen anything like that display against Everton at the back end of last season, Everton could have been 6-0 up at half time and we all know how bad they are. Bloody hell everyone's purring over Villa at the minute and they got smashed to bits off us 3 weeks ago.
-
One thing that's really annoying me is how reluctant we are to pull the trigger and shoot when we get the opportunity, doubt it's an instruction from the manager, feel like it betrays a real lack of confidence. One thing about Brighton is they absolutely love shooting, shooting, shooting rather than trying to walk it in.

When the fuck is Willock back? Absolutely gasping for someone in midfield who can run with the ball.
-
This is really noticeable, we used to base a huge amount round him interchanging with Bruno and Almiron down the right, at the minute he's just playing as a defensive full back who's not that great at defending.

I don't really have an issue with Southgate continuing to pick the players he trusts for games like this but it seems weird to drop an in-form Sterling in that context.

Champions League 2023/2024: Group F (Newcastle, Milan, Dortmund, PSG)
Wullie replied to Marko NUFC's topic in Football
Thankfully a thing of the distant past but there used to be a trend on here when football games started to get more realistic but were less ubiquitous (mid 2000s maybe) for several people to post before big games that they'd simulated the upcoming game on FIFA or PES and we'd won 2-0 against Arsenal (Shearer 47, Solano 86). Yeah cheers for that, fascinating. Used to do my head in.
