After the way he spoke about the fans and licked Pardews hoop, I hope he never makes a recovery. It's players like him who are prepared to settle for nothing and never wanting to win things whilst happy to pick up his wages that is wrong with football. Utter shit.

Newcastle 2-1 Chelsea - 6/12/2014 - Post match 'wtf?!' from p. 27

Lol. Yeah. You disagree? Reckon it's arguable which side's winning currently (I would probably go with fuckups overall, at least commercially and managerially), but being positive, you could also argue that he has recognised and learnt from some of the poorer decisions. We are certainly not going backwards currently. -

Pffft. Well yeah, it's fair to say I was struggling with the arse end of Shepherds time and the egotist reactionary he'd become, and after having to defend Robert/Bellamy from our own support that had bought into the new hardline direction post Robson, became er... pretty bitter. I'm all too aware of the irony in that and how similar things are for a fair few of you now (even down to the HBA situation being just as symbolic of kicking the joy of the game in the nuts) but I just haven't bought into the feeling of hopelessness yet. I don't think Ashley is a lost cause (mainly because despite making as many fuckups as sensible decisions, the club's pretty healthy and he's just as capable of splashing any excess cash in the next few seasons as he is to get bored and sell up in 2016), and as for Pardew, I hate his cowardly tendencies, his inability to keep faith with certain players, and wouldn't shed a single tear if he was sacked in the morning, but I don't hate the guy and I don't think he's as one dimensional as is some like to paint him as. I also think he will be dropped in a heartbeat if we flirt with relegation again (granted that's not much of a display of ambition). Yet, unlike the back end of Shepherds time I don't think the club is in danger and in fact think we have a squad, structure and soon to be improved facilities that might attract a decent future manager (if Ashley grew some balls, or even a new owner if one came a'sniffing). Oh, and I don't see how either of them have killed the clubs soul, despite the tacky shit on the walls. I still enjoy games and the losses still hurt (though even I admit league losses don't hurt quite as much as things stand) and even find things in the club and support to still be very proud about. I can sort of understand why that is a seemingly minority view on here though. Hopefully we'll all be able to get back on board in the not to distant future. Fuck joining Kaka on team 'everything is terrible' again. -

You wouldn't have been too arsed if chelsea had equalised? I wouldn't because come end of the season 3p or 1p against Chelsea will still mean midtable. Been a brilliant weekend so far, largely because of the win. Hell, even looking forward to work Monday. Fuck knows how much difference the points make at the end of the season, but to not be fussed about getting wins? Sorry, however you feel about Pardew, just can't get my head around that. -
Made a couple of saves. FFS credit where credit is due or would you prefer Elliott to make a miracle recovery and play instead? Elliott seems to me to be the better keeper, so yes. Alnwick did well though, he is rightly getting plenty of praise.

We've played pretty well imho. Hope Elliot makes it back out. -
Fine. Love the guy too. So why the dickens were European clubs seemingly so unwilling to invest anything in his signature last summer? Again with this We've seen plenty of players move to 'lesser' clubs in the past, it's no indication of anything and I have no idea why people choose to cite nonsense like this over things they've actually witnessed with their own eyes. I know with my own eyes he's the kind of talented and exciting player I long to have playing for us. I'm asking the question because it's frankly baffling that nobody (including Pardew) wanted him based on what we've all seen, but they clearly have some kind of reasoning behind it and I'd like to know what it is. You say we have seen plenty of players move to 'lesser' clubs, but none that I can remember as skilfull and at such a young age.

Some good players in that Hamburg side as I recall. Manny Kaltz was a fine sweeper, Horst Hrubesch an excellent centre forward, and foil for Karl Heinz Rummenigge in the National side, plus the midfield artistry of Felix Magath. Keegan was the jewel in the crown though, I don't think I've ever seen such work rate from a player save maybe Peter Beardsley. Keegan never stopped running, and was brave as a lion too. What p*ssed me off reading that is football today can be that simple, yet, it becomes over complicated by manager's who think their stats and tactics they read in some f***ing book or tape, or hell, do what Mourinho did some time ago and think that is how it should be done. We had an opportunity to go guns blazing against Benfica in the Europa League, at a rocking SJP with everyone fit and ready to play and the idiotic manger we had decided to keep it tight for 70 mins and then unleash some attackers for 20 mins of magic when we needed goals. The atmosphere was fantastic and the players should have been told to use that as energy. I remember a performance against Chelsea in the FA Cup when Kluivert scored, the crowd were electric that day and the players fed off that. Could you imagine Keegan team talk, the players would have come out feeling like Ronaldo and the fans would have encourage that feeling. I miss the Keegan days. For many reasons. /lack of ear hair, no beer gut, a vague sense of optimism etc...

Nah, nothing of the sort. Just admitting to a particularly god-awful first half. Distinct lack of admittance that the dickhead had anything to do with it mind, he basically just fixed something that happened to be wrong. No idea how it came to be that way personally but I'm glad Pards sorted it out. The changes at half time give him a modicum of credit, especially hauling Williamson off (though arguably a good part of that decision was based on his yellow). Going to Burnley and and starting with his trademark sit back and hope for a break is a fkn sackable offence on it's own mind.

Then I can see why people do what HTT and others keep threatening to do. Give up (though granted, and understandably, it never seems to happen). It is interesting how different people see the club we all support though. It has been grim in a sense, but surely you can enjoy the run for what it is, and in the knowledge we're not fucked, and are unlikely ever to be. If we're talking honours, then one day under this manager, or the next, or the one after that, or someday we'll win something. Not that it matters a jot, we support and enjoy what is there. We all have some mad affinity to the club, and probably an even deeper connection with the city that the club unquestionably represents. And we're a city that however passive the support is painted, will not see a club collapsing into the shit. Whoever is the owner or knacker or manager in charge, the club will not die or be grim for long. There isn't a huge divide, there hasn't been a single season I haven't had a go at the manager, and by fuck Pardew has a lot more to answer for than some, but to support a loss or bemoan a win is just as hurtful and alien to many as it is to others witnessing chants asking Pardew for a wave when we're 2 nil down.

We won. It's the 5th time in a row we've done that. Pardew isn't going anywhere so the best thing to do is to forget him, support the players and enjoy watching a winning team. If you can't do that it may be time to look for another hobby as following NUFC clearly isn't doing it for you. I don't like Pardew either and never will (look at my avatar) but all this wanting us to lose and not celebrating when we score or win is just plain silly. It's up to anyone how they support the team, if thats how you feel that's fine but telling people to "look for another hobby" isn't fair. Wanting us to lose isn't supporting the team. In your opinion. Look up the definition of "supporter" in the dictionary then. No. Some people look for the bigger picture. Happened against Souness, is happening now. You don't want to do it. That's up to you. No one is slagging the team. People want the best for NUFC. You don't get to dictate to people what being a supporter is. So what about those who grief the players when they lose the ball? They "supporting" the team are they? A fair few people who also want the best for NUFC (sometimes just random bods in the stands), have copped a lot worse on here recently than a gentle suggestion to find a new hobby to be fair. Not a competition though is it? I'm merely pointing out that I don't agree with telling people to find a new hobby Fair do's. For what it's worth, I'm not sure there is any sudden pressure to back the bloke, even from the local media. Would take a sustained goddamned miracle for the hate to soften for most. But it's understandable that those seeing other supporters not enjoying games and actively wanting us to lose when the going is (granted, suspiciously) good, start feeling some frustration too. Newcastle winning is still a good drug, whoever the dealer is.
