Scenario time. SA has done all his shopping (so we basically have 2 players for every position already) he's brought in a squad that were all happy with, then with 10 days to go, Mike Ashley announces he wants a world class or a potential world class signing brought in, in which position would you like to see this happen?
-
Agreed. Its not perfect, but has a lot of different options, and the same down the left would mean were almost ready for the new season.

Silva/Arsenal - Could be good or bad news re: Martins

That is the team of the future, but with Rossi and Pique will replace Ferdinand. I've heard both Rossi & Pique are to be sold this summer. -
The summer gets even better! - Pattison hands in transfer request

No great loss, probably seen O'Brien move on and thought he should do the same. Again good luck to the lad, he's done nowt wrong apart from come into a NUFC squad that was utter chaos, and not be able to make the grade against very difficult circumstances. Nice sell on clause and off he goes, hope a Championship team snaps him up. -
Yep, was awful. Hope the lad gets back on his feet asap possible, decent player with lots of heart, Fulham & Wigan both missed him greatly last season.
-
Good luck to him.

The Inter away strip was officially launched yesterday, anyone know where to get it? Sports Direct is just showing a black pic with pre-order (tbh the site is shocking, one of the worst sites i've ever been on, designed by a two year old) and the official Inter shops is fuking closed!

I think for £4.5m we should sign him regardless of Owen & Martins. I feel sorry for Ameobi though, waited all this time to step out of Shearer's shadow, then the club he loves abuses his body and doesn't give him a much needed hip op, and then misses out on the season that would make or break him. Season after, multiple striking options that are better than him.
-
Can you blame him, its pissed down since he's got here!
-
At least the bloke's honest, I suppose. Nice to see that he's fully aware of his apparent major weakness and that he intends to improve on it - especially after quite a few people on here mentioned his size for a centre-half. You don't have to be physically tough when you are his size, as long as he throws himself about and commands a bit of respect he'll do fine. I guess we plan to put another stone on him in muscle which he could do with, but tbf, he could easily get by without it if he's mentally strong.

Fuking hell, they better hope he's good, its that higher than Henry? Good news, MArtins is staying! Just Juve to worry about now. I'm not really worried. The rumour came out over Trezeguet wanting to leave as he fell out with the board over the departure of DD, but he's now signed a new deal. Even so, out of the Country is out of mind for me. Same. Would've hated to see him going to Arsenal. I'd still be very disapointed if he went to Juve, but it would be no where near as bad as Arse. Also, isn't it possible that it has to be a club with European competition, same as with Owen? No its just a straight £13m release clause apparently. -

Would do me. One of Bridge, Baines, Shorey or Twaio then a backup LB for around the £2m mark. Naldo or similar £8m+ CB and were sorted for next season.

Got a link mate? Sounds good. Now time for 4 big defensive signings.

All still vastly over paid. All I'm saying is that we cant complain about a players wages until we hear some reliable estimates on the actual pay package. I've got it from a good private source that Dyer is on £65kpw after Souness gave him his new deal. That's about £35kpw too much imo. Considering the insurers pay out when he is injured, I'd say that what he has provided us when fit has probably been worth the £60K-65K a week. He has insured to pay himself a further 50% more for when he's injured. He makes more money on the sidelines. Worth £65kpw this season? Fuk off man, and this was a good season for him. Good season because he stayed pretty much fit, and scored 7 in 25ish games despite being in a shit team. He was a very good and very important player under Robson despite rarely scoring, and his contribution, when fit, under Souness led to two good cup runs. Just wait for him to start flying next season. That 50% extra when injured would never happen. Sounds like one of those wage myths people use to get on the back of a player. You'd like to think.
-
Source please. Club records, Chronicle, Times, Guardian. I've provided the source on Babayaro so many times to you, totally ignored, that it is not worth taking the time to find it again. Are the Chronicle, Times and Guardian not classed as the media? I should probably rephrase that. Shortly before a good player signs for us, the tabloids increase the offered wage by £20,000. Then, when these players are signed, we discover that it is all exaggeration from London/Top4 biased press. Then, as soon as a player starts underperforming, people seem to remember the prespeculated wage, and not the wage reported shortly after the player had signed. You wait, we'll get told if Edmilson signs that he is on £60K, then after an injury setback, he'llsuddenly find himself back on £120K. I full agree that does happen. It totally fuks me off n all.

Apparently as soon as the U21 Euro Championships finish were going to immediately sign up Baines from Wigan.
