    Yohan Cabaye retires

I don't see what the problem is....yes we want good playes at the club, but we have to let them go at a time that allows us to continue having good players. The opposite we have seen many a time where a player got signed for £17m and left for nothing after years of declining form. Continued reinvestment is the way forward. Now is the time to sell Cabaye, but we must get what follows right either now or in the summer.

With Ashley its always a good time to sell because it doesn't matter if the profit is 20p or £20 million it wont be reinvested into the first team, I fucking hate that man Past record shows we will see something reinvested when we actually sell a player and have actually done it well! A chunk of £20m is better than a chunk of £5m.

We still have to remember that Cabaye was perfectly entitled to buy out his contract in the summer for a quarter of the price if he wanted to go to PSG, so it is a good time to sell unfortunately.
  4. I think I know what has happened here. Joe realised he needed to be in the UK to negotiate with the PSG delegation, and in Germany to negotiate with de Jong. He sent the work experience kid to Germany.

I'm pretty sure he would have bought out his contract for £5m in the summer if we rejected the bid, so we have done well to eke out 4 times his sale value from PSG. Depressing to lose a good player but there wasn't much that could be done. We did well to have him in the team playing well over half a season. I seem to remember the Carroll money whilst not used instantly was used to buy several good players. Like Cabaye. Under Levy there were a few years if mid table mediocrity before they used player sales to significantly improve. It is not doom and gloom just yet.

Don't think Cardiff will want to sell. And Joe can't speak Welsh.
  7. Kinnear has already this month written in the match programme we aren't signing anyone, so why the anticipation for deadline day?
  8. Did he? Yeah was in the programme notes. Remy and the January 2013 lot are enough for this season apparently.
  9. Kinnear says we aren't signing anyone so I don't think we will.

Newcastle United: The Novel Chapter 874. Joe opens his eyelid, and the light swarms in through the crack. A heavy weight lies on his head and a dry taste fills his mouth and throat. Contemplating nodding off again, his attention is drawn to the real reason for his awakening, a sharp rap on the door of his desk. "Who is it?" Grunts Joe. "It's Alan" comes the response. Joe hastily grabs his bottle of bourbon and places it in the drawer of his desk as Alan enters. Alan speaks but Joe is not listening, drifting away and recalling the night before when he found the Jules Rimet trophy in a local bin. Realising that Alan is expecting a reply to whatever Alan just said, Joe suggests that they talk it over in the pub after training. Later that day at the Kings Head, Alan tells Joe about the need to sign Remy on a permanent deal and give Cabaye a new contract. Alan leaves the pub after a pint but Joe does not leave and phones Gazza. Several pints and rejections later, Joe tries George Best at home but there is no reply. On the realisation that he's probably done for the night, he worries that he will forget what Alan asked him. But Joe is much better than that and writes the players names on the back of his hand. Two days later, Joe notices a doodle on the back of his hand. Barely legible, he can make out Remy, but the other name is a mess, the Cab fading away into nothing. But Joe will not be beaten and asks the work experience kid to help him out. Satisfied that he's got his man, Joe phones best friend Simon Bird to tell him he's on the verge of something, but would he like a pint first?
  11. Sounds like Sports Direct are in the utter shit with the law and could be some blowback at Mike Ashley
  12. Looks inevitable that Jenas, Duff, and Alan Smith will be premier league managers soon.

Dead before 30 at this rate
  14. We would be top of the league if it wasn't for Pardew's failings. Is perfection too much to ask for?

    Yohan Cabaye retires

Even though this is completely unrealistic; Imagine clinching the title in front of Liverpool away at Anfield the 11. of May. With a goal difference of plus 8
  16. If he ran at me like he runs after the ball I would die wetting myself

People will know that I have in the past been critical of Cabaye in the past, not of his quality but of his consistency and fitness and attitude. He had bad spells in season one, and a bad season two. However season three after the early blip has been outstanding and he is a more complete and influential player. Keep him fit and for the hell of it we might not just challenge for European places this year, we may also be in the title race.
  18. What Mackay has done to upset the chairman, redknapp has done even worse for every club he has been at.
  19. Cardiff are going to try and recruit him in my opinion.
  20. This British manager, household name, currently at another club. It is blatantly Pardew or Lennon and I'm sure neither will accept.
  21. I'm involved in planning permissions and seen much smaller projects take much much longer. Aren't you abroad anyway mojo?
  22. Some people just don't seem able to enjoy a good thing when they've got it.
