  1. Also Bruce was supposedly told this week that there was no transfer budget. Either we just told him that as he’s getting the boot and didn’t want to waste time entertaining his targets, or the club can’t afford transfers in which case need to consider whether another manager can eke out better performances
  2. Have to remember the context that the media laid into Bruce this week, called him the Trump of football managers and he even had to respond to this in the press conference. I thin even without a takeover that would make Ashley twitchy after what happened with Schteve
  3. It’s going to be 442 with Hendrick on the right isn’t it? Bruce reverting to what worked in a couple of games. Think we will actually win due to no Zaha but it won’t be pretty
  4. it's the same "philosophy" Souness and Pardew had. Take no responsibility and say the players should be able to work it out themselves. Then gan radge when anyone asks what the point of them is then. Pardew and Souness’ philosophy is light years ahead of Bruce to be quite honest.
  5. Stein or Patterson must be on here often then with that joke Thanks guys for all you are doing!
  6. Good stuff Greg, and well done on your appointment but I fear it will all be swept under the carpet. My biggest concern right now is Steve Bruce and the worry he could break any progress that may or may not be made towards a beneficial takeover for all parties. I don’t think I’m alone in that view so how does that voice get heard if we can’t go to stadiums and the media won’t listen? If it was down to me I’d probably organise a virtual town hall on the subject with a handful of press invited to attend and observe, try to get the message out there that the fan base is very worried.
  7. Didn’t Shepherd say he sacked Souness because all the players were just bumping into each other in the middle of the pitch?
  8. You're having a laugh - I call my father old timer. It's a term of affection - they were actually pretty decent posters when not drivelling on about Shepherd. It wasn’t just that phrase the whole post just reeked of the superiority of youth. FWIW Manorpark has been posting on this forum for 13 years and whilst I have been aware of his existence until now I can’t really remember any particularly strong opinions on anything. Opinions on whatever are always kept where they are meant to be, on threads about the subject. Compare that to NE5, you’d be talking about Darren Ambrose scoring for Charlton and then suddenly the thread would be taken nicer by chain quotes about the board, with plenty of thrown in
  9. Equally no problem with manorpark In fact the ageist remark from Raconteur was quite unpleasant
  10. CMA have just fined Compare the Market £18m for colluding with insurers to prevent lower insurance prices being advertised on other platforms. It’s not specifically relevant to us but is shows the extent of power that can be wielded, it’s not about compensating the fans, the rulings and fines can be pretty major if unfair practice is identified.
  11. Wait. Did I tell Luke this? It’s a predictable first tactic of defence to be honest albeit one I expect the PL to lose. More attempts to obfuscate and delay unfortunately
  12. Definitely doesn’t sit with me that the PL say fans have no standing aren’t aren’t affected by the decision. As a customer of NUFC what the PL do affects the qualIty of the product we receive
  13. Thanks for proving my point darling. Cute that you put on your Hard man hat but then go running to mommy behind the scenes. Well if Thomas gets so angry so easily and aims abuse around. Nice one for breaking the forums confidentiality rule though. Considering Nobody is a moderator and not an Admin he wouldn’t even know if you had reported the abuse. So actually you’ve breached your own confidentiality and exposed yourself as a massive grass
  14. Maybe it is just when they think it’s ready? Or perhaps when they want it to coincide with when they have finished their day job?
  15. Wouldn’t surprise me if NCSL have spent the last two weeks preparing next steps in the event of a rebuttal. It’s going to kick off at 5
  16. It is not us specifically. A good analogy would be supermarkets, when I was a kid we had Sainsbury’s, Asda, Tesco, Morrisons/Safeway. Germans came along and spent a lot on establishing Aldi and Lidl. The big four all lost revenue and profits as a result. Difference here is that there is no regulator stopping the new supermarkets coming in and disrupting other established businesses. That’s the real issue the PL have created.
  17. Greg, have NUST looked to engage with Stein and Patterson at all to see what’s going on, check whether they need any wider fan support?
