He's a 19 year old centre back playing at right back in his 3rd EVER SENIOR FIRST TEAM appearance, in front of a stadium full of expectant fans. His passing was sloppy, but i put it down to nerves. No wonder our young players can never live up to expectations. Why does the forum get the blame? He said it, not us! I'm not blaming the forum. Every week though there's some people who come out with idiotic things like this thread.

Huntington looks like Woodgate from a distance (before Woody grew that thing what he's got now). I was sitting there today thinking 'if only' bluecry.gif

Looking at our forthcoming fixtures i think we will do well to stay in the position we are in now. If we can just stay between 10-12th until the middle of January then we can hopefully push on in the 2nd half of the season. Anything is possible. Most of the teams in this league are so poor that we have every chance of pushing for Europe at the end of the season. We can't get too carried away though, and we will not finish in a Champions League position. No chance.

The way some people have slagged Roeder off for "wasting" money on him i think he has a bit of a right to keep doing it.

Who gives a flying fuck if his all around game is not perfect yet? He's a young lad and he's doing the most important and hardest thing of all the things you have to do on the pitch which is score goals. As far as i am concerned he could stay here for 10 years and play like that if he banged in 2 goals a game. Strikers job?=Score goals. Job done.

I think there's a thread like this every other week. Anyway i'd say Parker, Taylor, Nobby, Given, The Zog and Sibierski (never thought i'd say that!) Can't really seperate them.

Don't think Ramage will get much better. Only seen Huntington against Blackburn and Chelsea so its far too early to say anything about him. Taylor can actually be great though definitely. He's on form now, and he's toned down a bit on the amount of stupid challenges he does. If he can wipe them out of his game completely, then in years to come he can be one of the Premierships very best. Down to him.

I don't know how fit Clarkie is, but we might well be finding out soon if things get much worse.

I was thinking about that. Given is due a testimonial once this season is complete. I work it out Nobby would have played 7 1/2 seasons at the end of this season. He might just fall short. meaning shay given is going to have a testimonial at the end of this season ? Nah. If he gets one it will probably be at the end of his career. I think Given might really deserve one by the end of his Newcastle career. As long as he doesn't take any of the money, and it all goes to a good cause then wheres the problem? We get to say thanks, he gets to say thanks, and it benefits less fortunate people as well.

Chelsea could do themselves a favour by loaning him out to a Premiership club. Sounds daft since they paid all that money, but it might be good for them and the player in the long run.

The optimistic bit of me is saying we can win our home matches, but my head tells me Stephen Carr is nearly fit.

We've got one hell of a tough run of games coming up. Don't want to be negative cos we're doing well now, but i am not 100% confident of being in the right half of the table in the middle of January.
