  1. Is that real? Yes. Wrong on so many levels, I don't know where to begin.
  2. What does this sentence actually mean? 'Officers were called and found two men who had allegedly attacked by Barton, whose brother Michael, 18, was convicted of the racist murder black A-level student Anthony Walker, and two of his companions.'
  3. Has Wigan depressed you this much, Coach? How can you watch a team like Arsenal play and say that? Or fail to appreciate a sublime example of individual skill or courage?
  4. Bet Ashley's regretting stumping up all that cash for a season ticket.
  5. Funny how I skimmed over that part at first.
  6. im not too fussed by it, its just rather worthless having an opinion on anything on here. Who said that? If people thought your opinions were worthless they wouldn't bother debating them. every opinion ive offered has been debated/argued against. i cant remember anyone ever agreeing with me. still, i dont go for kneejerking, so why would they. Aye, I much prefer those forums where everyone agrees with one another. They're really entertaining, not to mention educational.
  7. 2001-02, 2002-03, obviously. The first is the better season, but the the second is the better DVD.
  8. Tbh, James Milner looks like the missing link.
  9. Stop shitting up my awesome thread.
  10. Just thinking today about Mike Forde. Forde was Performance Director at Bolton under Sam and was described as his 'secret weapon'. You can read a bit more about him at the Guardian. Sam failed in his attempts to bring him here from Bolton as he eventually ended up at Chelsea, although he was successful in bringing in his other main man Mark Taylor who is our Head of Sports Science. I wonder if Big Sam's attempts to recreate his Bolton environment have failed because he's missing a big cog in his management machine? Forde not only scouted for new, innovative ideas he was also the man who took care of the backroom staff and their training, as well as performing a Sports Psychologist role. Now get HTT to rewrite this in 10,000 words.
  11. He doesn't seem to have a problem with it...? http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2007/12/27/geremi-s-still-man-for-the-job-72703-20289527/ Hmmm... I mean by the lack of announcement beforehand. This is closing the stable door after the horse has bolted.
  12. Yes, yes and The Wigan announcer actually called out that our captain was Geremi pre-match too. Lowes and Anderson only realised Smith was the captain in the tunnel. That's fucking awful, tbh. Bet Geremi was over the bloody moon.
  13. I honestly haven't a clue. I suspect we'll be royally face-bummed, but this might actually be the match when our players get their collective finger out.
  14. Even I am starting to worry for him.. I have backed him thus far, but I am starting to think Sam can't change. I hope, for his sake, he takes a look in the mirror, fucks off all this statistics bullshit and plays the way we need to so the opposition will have to nullify us. Sacking, more change is still a bad idea but Sam continues to shoot himself in the foot. I think a lot of people on here backed sam and many still do back him but week by week its getting harder and harder to see him lasting long in the job, why SA insists on playing players out of position and in a formation which doesnt suit our players is very worrying. Well said. I also get the impression that the players do not like him or his methods, and unless that changes quickly, Sam will be in trouble. I'm commited to backing him, but why's he making it so hard? There's something almost Sounessesque about his 'my way or the high way' approach so far. Free your mind, and your ass will follow.
  15. Must point out I didn't see the match today, but it seems another case of Sam trying out yet another formation to see if this is the one that will 'click'.
  16. Steve Bruce! Fucking hell! Just when you thought he couldn't get uglier!
  17. There's got to be bigger punishment, no doubt. We're going to have broken legs and career-threatening injuries every single week at the current rate of these terrible tackles.
  18. Just got back from Xmas II: The In-Laws. Shit, then, was it?
  19. I think you might have mixed some words up there. If anything, Martins doesn't know what football is.
  20. Hold on. The ballboys have to pay to do the job?
  21. Have a good one, lads and lasses.
  22. Hunchbacks? Possibly In terms of crossing being harder than it looks, I'd say that's true ... but it's no harder than Milner makes it look, and therein (after numerous seasons) lies the problem. Still, overall, for my money Milner is neither Saint nor Sinner, and I'm all for a bit of positive discrimination / affirmative action where hunchback monkeys with low self esteem are concerned - imho they're one of the forgotten minorities in the modern game. A commendably Christmas spirit on show there, bluegeordie.
  23. News archive footage - we were a top 7 side merely a year and a half ago, and the only players of significance missing from that squad when Allardyce took over were Bowyer & an ageing Shearer . Unless you think we only achieved that due to the management & tactical skills of Souness & Roeder? You missed out Bramble.
