WHAT. I'd take fucking Souness back ahead of that snake. Shit, that is a hard choice. Chop off hands or feet...

He is off surely. He should have been reserve keeper this year or at least on loan. We have stitched him up a bit imo. It is a huge turn over this summer one way or another. Personally keeping the likes of Diame, Ritchie, gayle and Shelvey seems smart as squad players. The issue there is that none want to be that. If Rafa is gone there is a whole pit of players that Charnley and Ashley could and likely will cash in on. Lascelles, Perez, Schar, Shelvey (ironically more likely to stay if Rafa goes), Dubravka could all be sold imo. If Rafa stays we are still looking at exits for Kennedy, Diame, Joselu, Ritchie, Shelvey and Hayden. We will also be looking to shift most of our loanees, Lazaar, Colback, Aarons, saivet, sterry. Wouldn't rule out Muto or Atsu leaving. The only place we don't need improving is Central defence and possibly Goalkeeper (although we have been linked with a back up forever so don't be surprised to see at least two of blob, woodman and darlow leaving). We need two new starting fullbacks for either side at least two new central midfielders if not 3 one more winger if not two two strikers (one if Rondon stays) It's a hell of an overhaul ahead for whomever is in charge.

Feel for Hughton. Don't think you can really argue its time though. Sure they could have given him one more but I don't begrudge the change provided they get someone that is a clear step up. He was lucky they didn't go down and he hasn't had a shoestring budget even if its less than many. It's not as harsh as his Newcastle sacking. He will get another gig. Good time for Brighton to try and take a step up. If anything credit for Brighton for sticking with him to season end instead of knee jerk firing him earlier.

Such an overhaul coming whether Rafa stays or not. Stays: at least Hayden, diame, shelvey, kennedy, Joselu, ritchie all out possibly Gayle. Goes: at least rondon, Hayden, ba bareccas, Perez, Kennedy, diame maybe schar Heck of a turn over with likely others to that list.

At least half the board feels the same but is putting up the man armour. One thing we know is Ashley will keep everyone waiting for a month and probably fuck off on holiday in between.

At any other club the power would be all yours Rafa. It's been a whirlwind and a privilege. You brought back class, honour, commitment and passion to a club that was morally and physically dead. You gave more than just life support to a breathless club, you gave us hope and a precious reminder of what it was like to believe in our players and club again! Wherever you go you have our blessing!

32% possession. Win by 4. So happy for Rafa, all the lads and the travelling support who were of course magnificent. Best wishes to Hayden who has been a steal overall and will continue to get better wherever he goes. Will add in Diame who has been a great servant. Rondon, Perez, Rafa and Shelvey. Its likely the last we see you. Schar maybe too. All magnificent today too. -

Bryan, Cairney, Sessegnon, all good players. Sessegnon would be class. Not that we would stump up the cash for him. -
How they fuck did we let him wind down to 1 year of his contract. .. oh yeah. This fucking ownership.

Ideally keep it tight and nick a 3rd to kill it when they press. Hope one of the bairns get on. Credit to the fans a) for the ferry's. Pure class b) for the noise and Ashley chants. -
Chelsea have a glorious chance with this transfer ban imo. Get rid of the bad apples and over paid players and bring through the abundance of youth they have. They have a chance to reset the club culture and actually re-engage the fans that like man city have got bored. All using the excuse of the transfer ban if they fail. They wont have a better chance. Could be the (re) making of the club if they have the balls to do it. I think the rot is too deep and those with the power are really too disinterested though.

Lol I thought it looked like the "This is Spinal Tap" metal font!

Other than him hating Ashley that is. To be fair it wouldnt be the worst he might take himself and Ashley out of the equation in one fall blow.
-
Bloody Hell, they need to get a hold of themselves or they are going to get knocked out in the playoffs faster than Daniel Stendel in a tunnel.
-
Aye, enjoyed the match even if it was woeful at times. A good start though. Players were nervous and the ground was essentially a wind tunnel with no stands either end. Shite officiating at times. Thought the media pro coverage we decent too. Looking forward to seeing the other teams.

In my all time favourite XI no doubt. Complete legend and still a little underrated in comparison to some of the other excellent singers we have had.
-
Another miracle working season from Rafa. What a man. What comes next will be a typical Newcastle circus car crashing clusterfuck. We have today though.
-
To dream the impossible dream. Another year of survival. Bit if a blip having to spend money on Almiron but job done. Mike will be delighted.
-
It's the almiron and rondon factor as well. He has more space sometimes and the opposition defence has more to think about. Plus he has always been productive out wide (even if he was more central for lots of he second half)
-
This is their only chance at picking up points til season end imo. There won't be any parking the bus. They cant afford to. They are dependent on Fulham and palace doing them favours and man city having already won the league come last day. Goal difference looks good now but after spurs, arsenal and man city that might look radically different.
-
No doubting the commitment, leadership and he has quality. It is why I wasn't happy about him being linked away last season. I get why he needs replacing though and likewise at his age and character why he wont want to sit as a squad player.
-
Credit where it's due for Ayoze. What a superstar. faded a bit and played a bit to central second half for me but there when we need him again. What a second half of the season he has had.
-
Hows that not a foul. Either way play the whistle ayoze.
-
Perez hasnt shown this half and its left us hugely vulnerable down the left. They have acres of space. Injuries have also messed us up obviously.
-
Pompey to beat them and condemn them to playoffs. Then beat them again in said playoffs to condemn then to league one again.
