butt's been offered a new contract I know, wasn't it part of his previous contract and performance based? regardless, he more than anyone in our squad is a player I'd expect to think about leaving, should we sell Given/Owen. Just because we have offered him an extension and we dont think he deserves it, doesnt mean he wants the extension.

Xisco joins Deportivo on loan until the end of the season

I was screaming to have him put on today. Its a dissapointing affair to say the least. I can understand if maybe he isnt ready for the premier league or even suited to it, but why the hell arent we trying him out in the reserves? I know JFK see's him in training every day, but he has played treble the amount of league games Carrol has, scored many times in one of the best leagues in the world and played with some great players. I know we dont know the full facts (which is always the most frustrating albeit loop hole excuse) but for the love of God he must have something about him worth giving him a chance over Andy fucking Carrol -
I thought he did much better today, yes he should have scored at least one, but he was involved more than he has been the last 5/6 games. I wouldnt say he is past it (although he certainly isn't the same as he was a few years ago) as much as he isn't utilised in the best way. I would love to see him stay, but I wouldn't be opposed to cashing in on him asap as the former is not going to happen. In many ways his decision was a low blow, given our support of him, we deserved a decision one way or the other by now to get money back on him. That said, I'm sure he also thinks its a loyal thing to stick it out to the end of the season, but money or clubwise I doubt many people would do different though in his position. Like losing Given, the impact on the pitch would be alot less influenced than off it and around the club. There is a huge sway of belief that either of these two leaving would see a mass mutiny and exodous. Tbh I can't see anyone walking that we couldnt aptdly replace. Butt - leave N'Zogbia - possible loss, but one a long time coming, not convinced he would leave unless he is guarenteed first team slots every week. Viduka - gone in the summer anyway, like butt Oba - whilst, it would be a bad sign of our intent going forward, he would get more games guarenteed, which is his only gripe, I dont think he would leave immediately. Duff- I doubt he would leave unless he was pushed, the few that would be interested wouldnt match his wages anyway If anything its a sign we are willing to have people that want to bring this club back where we want it to be, although the press will call it a mass walk out etc.. Long story short, I dont think there is anyone likely to leave that we couldnt (although kinnear wont find or attract them) replace.

Why don't you cut and wash your hair?

Are you in or out? I'll shake it all about if you don't mind. If the said people had enough money/experience/commitment/vision/nouse to make a success of it, its a bonus if they are Geordie owners. Sounds more like too many cooks spoiling the broth for me though.
-
the best person to run the club is obviously the person that wants the best for the club which was the thinking behind Roeders stunning spell in charge.
-
That's just what happens when you employ Kinnear as your manager.....it's just asking for it!!! As overly elaberate a way of getting back at those who criticised his system as is possible.
-
Lets build a barracade around the city and never let anyone from outside newcastle in, maybe burn any newcastle fan that wasn't born within 50 miles of the city, ok 40. Rich People from newcastle = perfect owner of the club. I know I'm dramatising your point to the full, but what makes you think said people would be perfect for the job, if anything wouldn't their natural bias blind them and be more of a liability? thomas said it best.

Another solid performance, needs to work on his distribution, every now and again looks a little clumsy, but is doing really well.
-
Getting better with each handfull of games imo. HTT isn't wrong though, needs replacing in the first team, he will get his chance. We will knacker him out soon enough otherwise, or the usual build him up and knock him down syndrome will take effect.
-
Never, never, never, never, never want to see him starting again. He is done. Might be a great pro and good for the dressing room but lets get 300k for him and sell him now.
-
This is what happens when you take away the transfer system we had and give Kinnear the wheel. Fuck me, what a terrible fucking signing. Replacement for Butt? Kinnear will probably drop Guthrie.
-
Have always thought that was one of Shays weakest points, although there are few keepers in the league that really do have the whole package, Harper is no better for it. This transfer might well have been a shock to us and JFK, but maybe not to the hierachy, lets not forget we have been linked to about 10 keepers over the past year. No coincidence.
-
Dont think Enrique is going anywhere, regardless of the fact he wont pass a medical right now he is the only LB on our books, he will stay to the end of the season at least. Carrol, Edgar, cacapa, Krul then maybe Xisco are more likely to be out the door. Dont think Geremi is expendable right now given his experience and versatility.

Tears before bed time again. I already want the transfer window to be shut. Infact bring on the end of the season. At least the away games will be cheaper next year.
-
You cant really argue with this. Yet again. He is as good as gone and City would be were I would see him ending up, if its city bidding 10m is cheap at the price.
-
It's weird at times how players who are top class just fade away. He's been on his way down for a while I think, quality at Valencia but didn't really do it at Zaragoza so he was always a risk. Perhaps the disppointment of the move to NUFC falling down crushed him mentally Apparently it had the same effect on every player in a newcastle shirt too.
-
The new Matt Taylor. Wouldnt be bad as back up maybe and would be cheap. There should really be better options out there though.

not impossible but i'd be very surprised if owen went to play abroad. Don't discount the Mourinho factor. Also Owen would thrive most in the Italian league I believe, and Capello would love it too. Lazy journo's ripping off the foreign stories, but this would be a fantastic option IMO if it was true. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/leagues/premierleague/newcastle/4046864/Jose-Mourinho-in-line-for-Michael-Owen-bid.html In the Sun aswell. Suazo plus some cash for Owen would be fantastic. Yes Owen is a match winner and still a great player on his day, but he is leaving at the end of the season for nothing, fact. Selling him abroad would be great too, its a given he will stick goals past everyone for fun again, especially us if he joins another premiership team. Suazo would be a decent signing aswell.
-
About the same time he shows his true world class potential in the premier league and 6 months after we sell him to wigan for 500k.

How important is a decent cup run this season?

I'm more and more not thinking along the lines of the bold bit. The table is now closing up at the very bottom, and Newcastle continue to perplex. The general dross includes Newcastle. I didnt say we werent included, I meant if we are to have a saving grace it will be in other teams in the premiership playing worse than us. At the minute there are alot more struggling than in previous years. As much as you can see the bottom of the table closing up a couple inconsistent results (that have been happening alot) can see people dragged back into it or pulling away.
