  1. We'll play a 4-4-2 (because Sammy Lee will be expecting a 4-5-1) and get a bore 0-0 draw. I think both managers will be overly cautious and this will spill over to the player selection and last minute instruction. No one wants to lose this game and that fear will probably kill any inspiration.
  2. "Geordies here, Geordies there..." Global domination bekons.
  3. Yes and compliments should be made to 1878. The previous Everton supporters we have had on this board were terrible... although they did inspire some really creative photoshopping and ridicule. I know there are some decent Spurs supporters out there by the way - I have actually met some... true story.
  4. shut-up Harper had to potential great things as a footballer but chose not to take the risk of leaving nufc, he's deserves zero repsect for that No need to tell posters to shut up. So he makes a mistake (that even he admits) that was essentially giving in to pressure from supporters (who have on the whole wanted him to stay) and his managers who have also encouraged him to stay, for the team he has supported his whole life - a mistake that benefits NUFC (and us as supporters) and he deserves "zero respect"? Very interesting...
  5. Shak & Ronaldo - You are both out of line on this one. He actually has regretted his decision and if you look at the Chopra to Cardiff thread (I can't be bothered) - Chops actually asked Harper what he thought and his words were "Don't make the same mistake I did." - it was one of teh reasons CHosp left. He loves this club and he waited it out too long - in short he screwed up. But honestly the only person who has suffered here is Harper himself while all of us have reaped the benefit of him staying. We have no right to criticize. The whole "I could never respect people who wouldn't push themselves to playing higher than the Newcatle Reserves" is uncannily similar to the posts in General Chat that start with "Jessica Alba is a bit of a minger if I am honest and I could/have done better."
  6. Under almost any other curcumstance this would not be a laughing matter... but then the Leeds supporters have a very high tosser contingent and then there is Kevin Bates... no worse can describe how despicable this man is.
  7. Bonk: And here is the listing for Setanta Sport USA: http://na.setanta.com/portal/systemcontent/tvschedule?open&channel=setantasportsna&dateadjust=9& Feeling more comfortable yet?
  8. Bonk: Okay how about this: http://na.setanta.com/portal/systemcontent/broadband

  10. Just an FYI: www.soccertv.com/england.cfm Is the best source for looking up what matches are being shown where in North America. Steppingrazor - Mad Dog in the Fog (San Francisco) gets my vote for best venue to watch a game in North America - large toon contingent always present. The Bolton Match will be available on Setanta Sport and on-line on Setanta Broadband for $10 - it will also be shown on many illegal stations that I would never suggest ever to be used on such an upstanding forum as this where we all abide by the LAW. As far as I can tell all of our next five matches will be shown in one form or another - you just have to knwo where to look.

    Kieron Dyer

No, you're thinking of Jenas. Ah but JJ's parents have an alibi, whereas Dyer was born in Ipswich in 1978... the product of a drunken party celebrating a certain UEFA Cup victory perhaps?

    Kieron Dyer

I have many questions about Dyer that I suppose will never be answered and no longer matter for us. Was he injury prone or was it at least partially our fault? Was he inherently a bling boy or was he lead astray and got a bad rep early on when Gullit sold his Quayside flat to him? (that was sublime in it stupidity on behalf Ruud) What was that genetic or otherwise mystery illness that was not his fault? How come WHam are willing to pay him wages and 5m when he has got this condition? Was he actually SBR's illigitimate child explaining his "undroppability" no matter how poorly or how petulently he played? Anyway I can wish him all the best of luck knowing full well that his best times are behind him. A happy thought: His goals at St. Mary's in January 2004 (?)
  13. That's the most wrong I've ever seen crammed into a single post You must be new... Still you have a point.
  14. Bit harsh there with the comparison. Those people you mentioned are hardly role models. At least Crumpy attacks Nobby (who is seen as a role model) for cheating on his wife. And eventhough the testimonial was dull and we lost (2-0) and only 28k showed up - he was still well received. As far as this story is concerned... He was pissed and with one of his mates and they stole a limo... hardly a serious crime. Bit of a laugh really.
  15. It would seem fitting for Dyer to end up at Spurs. He will now follow the Ginola career arc to anonymity. Goes to Spurs for a season plays well below expectations (with only the briefest flashes of competatnce) then get injured and/or dropped from the first team goes onto even less fashionable club in Birmingham (sorry brummie) for almost nothing then fails to ever regain fitness, retires then writes book about being an "England International" that no one reads. The End
  16. Okay some half time observations. Celtic are allowing us to build from the back by placing our defenders under limited pressure (making Carr look excellent) with a couple notable exceptions - Jan veeeeennnnnneeeegoooooooooor of hesselinktownplace (you should see the back of his shirt - it's funny) who is actually putting our CBs under a bit of pressure. Carr and Luque look good in this game which leads me to think that Celtic are doing something horribly wrong. Luque's goals were well taken but to be fair Milner and especially Nobby's cross were outstandingly good. RE: Nobby - we joke about players being overweight but does anyone else think that Nobby looks a bit too thin? He says he's in the shape of his life right now but to me he looks a stone too light. He is playing well so I'll leave the eating habits to him and Big Sam's team. For someone who is supposedly on his last legs he is putting in serious running. Our movement in general is excellent right now - not a lot of hoofing it with our midfield running out wide continuously. Big Sam and the team are doing something interesting during training and/or Celtic are playing aweful.
  17. WTF? - I just saw Celtic give respect (too much space and time) to Carr for about the eighth time. They are treating him like Ronaldhino and not rushing him. Gotta be a fix.
  18. Celtic have to be playing an academy side at the moment.
  19. Milner is simply owning the left wing at the moment. Dunno who Celtic's RB is but he's having a 'mare.
  20. Surely this is Luque's opportunity. I am surprised he's not more invovled.
  21. Geremi seems to be doing well. Somehow we also seem to have learned how to pass the ball with better movement and authority than I have seen in almost six months. Strachan looks his usual cheery self.
  22. I expect a loss but I hope we win anyway because I simply cannot tolerate the Old Firm. My guess is that we start with ----------Given Carr Geremi Rozzy Hunty Milner Nobby Zoggy Ameobi Carrol Martins I'd love if it Carr were dropped though. I can't see Big Sam playing Dyer with his future unknown.
  23. What do you seriously think will happen with City regarding Dyer? Partial swap if then with who or straight money and if so how much?
