  1. Nah, it's the right pick - Shearer and Henry. The best of all time in the PL.
  2. You did but it was all good. He was looking pretty great for a bit this season if I recall correctly but since coming back into the team he’s really had just really bad mistakes. look I really like Clark, he’s a solid defender, has some good qualities in attack, often pops up with an important goal and even has a random game where he’s carrying the ball forward.
  3. Clark is full of mistakes these days. He actually looks fatigued.

    Joe Willock

Build the midfield around him. Even under new owners. He’s fantastic.
  5. We always play like shite against them when we need a result, but I’m really thinking we can get 3 points here.
  6. Masters would do well to align himself with an energized and highly capitalized Newcastle United. + fans back in + money invested into our entire setup + a world class manager - the cartel would be absolutely shaking in their boots over the prospect of facing us. It's something in football that would not yet have been seen.
  7. At the end of the day, the test is not fit for purpose. The lack of transparency or constant application is flat out negligent. The league has long become a victim of catering to the top end clubs and tv partners. The test should be about business plan, liquidity, and recourse if something happens under their ownership that they can’t cure via money/fine or penalty via increased regulation on how they conduct business. They should not be attempting to play politics like they have done with us. They should not allow owners to break away and form their own super league or owners to bleed a club dry. They should not allow their owners to encumber a club with highly levered and expensive debt. That’s the role of the league. They need to punish the 6 with the kitchen sink.
  8. There is no way the league are going to say "Oh, OK - PIF you are clear to buy Man United or Arsenal or Liverpool" - that would be giving those owner's what they wanted. What should happen, is the league allowing our takeover ASAP. Then putting a massive amount of red tape around those clubs who broke away, including fines, point deduction and other things.
  9. @oldtype good to see you back dude, one of the OGs

    Joe Willock

He’s going to be a top top player. Imagine him under a Rafa. Sheesh.
  11. I like Clark a lot but he’s got a ton of mistakes in him recently
  12. Mike’s price range of ~£300m probably is baked in with freedom to buyer to bring in their own sponsors, kit supplier etc. Devil will be in the details though, castore could announce a “long term” deal but it could still be a super cheap termination or even allow for owner of club to terminate at will, early, or with a fee. Etc.
  13. Just a guess but probably a smaller contract deal because it probably has no real long term security for Castore. It’s probably a deal that can be terminated with minimal cost in a year or two’s time and has additional provisions for change of control. It’s really the only reason the club would enter into an agreement like that and the same goes for the technical supplier. This is likely done on Mike’s end because even if PIF fall through, he’s got no long term encumbrances hindering the commercial side of a buyer’s business plan. Assume Puma did not want to enter into another short 1 year deal or one that had no long term security so they switched to someone who was willing to take that but at a lower cost.
  14. Think people were angry about this when it was reported in October. But yeah I agree - what a crap look.
  15. I assume the club shop has been not performing great (obv in light of the pandemic) but probably also with his shite ownership. If he’s leasing the store to castore then getting rental income would be lucrative.
  16. Genuine question, did Mike Ashley sell or transfer the ownership of the current shop into Sports Direct? If he did, then the article by Craig Hope would be accurate in that SD own the shop. If SD is selling the shop, that would mean they would be selling or transferring the shop back to St James Holdings, etc. I read that article and just felt the logical reality is that the club shop was leased to an entity of Sports Direct. Sports Direct has now terminated that lease, and thus its employees are gone. The landlord is and always has been St James Holdings, or related entity that is part of NUFC. Castore, as part of their agreement with NUFC, will enter into a new lease for the space and pay rent to the club. The employees will be Castore employees. if the club is sold, then the new owners will likely terminate the lease and convert the shop into an official NUFC club shop, who’s employees would be that of the club.
  17. People who think Darlow is better are just plain wrong.
  18. Am quite certain under Rafa there was a stat that Dubravka was one of the best at the high catch in the box as well.
  19. you wouldn't sell the club shop to Castore, you'd lease the shop to Castore.
  20. Not sure what to tell another human being if they think Karl Darlow is better than Dubravka.
  21. Hardly commanding? He basically owned the box on the dozen corners we conceded.
