we just don't know about Beckford, but Jason Scotland made the jump from League 1 to the Championship and still bagged loads of goals, I think that Beckford is a better all round player than Scotland. Scotland so far hasn't done much in the Prem with Wigan not that he has many chances. I am of the opinion we need to worry about now and not the future, if Beckford can help us get promoted then great, we'll worry whether or not he has the talent to succeed in the Premiership when we are there. Its a moot argument in my opinion anyway as its unlikely we'll sign anyone that we are sure would succeed in the Prem. That said I wouldn't be totally against Kris Boyd, I think he could get goals at Championhip Level.

I voted no, if we could go out and buy someone like Beckford I'd prefer that. Harewood is proven at this level but not as if he's been superb for us. The biggest disadvantage about signing Beckford is that we'd have to stump up cash, but I think he would be hungry and determined to prove that he can step up a level.

I thought the 10 yard rule really would help football but we used it all wrong. Why stop at one offence, keep on moving up the pitch soon stop the moaning. And if it is in and around the penalty area the team with the free kick should be able to choose if they want the 10 yards or not. For example Beckham is more useful 25-30 yards out rather than 18 yards. I think Sin Binning would be a good option in football.

England have got to be looking at 9 points. If they were playing USA last then 7 would be acceptable. If England are to be contenders then surely they must breeze though this group. Other than Spain no team really stands out, this is as open a WC there has been in a while IMO.

Harper a clown? He may not be the very best keeper around but he is hardly a clown. Maybe he is a poor mans Shay Given but we could do far worse than him. He has never really let us down and has saved us some points this season no doubt. We have far more pressing concerns than our goal keeping department, IMO even if we get back to the Prem, goalkeeper is one of the last areas of our club I would look to change.

Apparently loads of fans from down here were head up north yesteday, alot where going for the piss up rather than the football. I hope there is no trouble up there. Swansea fans tend to travel very well with very little bother. There is no acccounting for some knobheads though. The actions of a few will get others tarnished with the same brush.

Barton has looked ineffective this season but to be fair he is playing out wide, I think we would see better from him in a central posoition. Nolan is doing okay this season and I just can't see Houghton picking one or the other. Be intertesting to see what he does when Jonas is back, because I would much prefer to see natural wide men out wide rather than CM's.
