If Shay was going to uproot his family and move to the other end of the country, it wouldn't be to Spurs. What would be the point?

Obafemi's birthday party is obviously more far important than any shitty mackem game. You can hardly blame the lad.

The highlights at half time on the tele's. I was waiting for ages to see the Beye tackle again.

Sky Sports News just said Keith Harris has said its down to two serious bids, one of which should go through by the end of the year.

The lack of official comment is worrying. However, at least its not as bad as Berwick Rangers. A director put the club up for sale last week through a post on a football forum, then the same director (once a football hooligan and banned from every pub in the town a few years back) went on to spread a load of shite about another director later in the thread. Berwick announced a load of signings on the official website during the summer, only for the fans to find out they hadn't actually signed, and a few went on to sign for other clubs. The team manager was late on Saturday and had to phone his team through when stuck in traffic, a player was sent off then arrested for assulting the referee, then a player gave the fingers to the Dumbarton fans as he stormed down the tunnel after being subbed. Newcastle are a well run outfit compared to Berwick.

I cried myself to sleep the day he left. I remember my Man Utd supporting mate brought me round a Gillespie photo and demanded my Cole poster! Gutted!

It was a poor second half performance, but that said, half our team last night werent really match fit. Enrique, Beye, Martins, Barton and Jonas will all get better with games. The tactics were a bit shit though. Had we pressed a bit more at the start of the second half we could have got a third and sealed the game there, because they were shocking at the back first half. Had we done that then Im sure we would have seen a bit more confidence and keep ball.
-
Not sure why he wasnt on pens anyway tbh. He's our best penalty taker, certainly better than Martins from the spot.

For me, the Marseille away leg in the UEFA Semi, or the AZ away leg. Both times, had we won I think we would have gone on and won the cup. In my time supporting Newcastle weve had 3 close chances of winning cups, the two above and the Chelsea semi in 2000. Win that and I believe we would have beat Villa. I never expected to win the finals in the two previous years. Out of those 3 I would say the Marseille game was the most most heartbreaking. Outside Newcastle, Berwick losing 4-0 in the 1st leg of the playoff final in 2005.

I think we need to wait a few games first. Its far too close down at the bottom to judge much yet. We're only about 6 points off the top half which is amazing.
-
Im assuming if he gets done for this, it will be for six games, as his suspension was for 6 games then 6 suspended or something. If they FA charge him for this however its a fuckin joke. Joey is exactly the type of player we need at the moment and hopefully he will start on Tuesday and rip WBA appart. Welcome back Joey!

Same here, although it was the mackem end I was in that day, just next to the toon support. Managed to keep calm, just stood up shaking my head when Dabizas scored so I could see where he was going with the celebration. It was quite funny listening to the mackems around me during the game! Classic quote sitting in the pub with my mackem mate after the match: "I wouldn't say this in front of any Newcastle fan, but we are fuckin shite, fuckin shite, and Ive been to Northampton to see us, but we are shitter now than weve ever been." My mate just looked at me and I thought he was about to tell the whole pub I was a toon fan! Can't wait for tomorrow now!

Ill not be wearing my black and white shirt, just because I don't have the current one. Probably would if I had one though. Who gives a fuck what people are wearing anyway?
-
I thought it was quality last night. The top corner was like an away section. Fuckin quality!

Anyone any idea how many tickets are sold, and whether you can buy them at the box office before the game without booking them first?

Are there professional agitators in the media where NUFC is concerned?

Souness used to have a problem with Alan Oliver did he not? I remember an interview he did on Sky during his final terrible days in charge of the club. -
I thought he was brilliant second half along with Bassong. I can't believe this thread. When I opened it I expected it to be about his good performance today.
-
I find it funny how a journalist was telling him to go and read the message board! At least they must all know what we think of them and their stories. Joe would just come on here and it would help back up his view of the press.
-
But he's a geordie y'na!
-
An English Newcastle fan who played for Scotland and Sunderland, taking great delight in winding us up, when both at the mackems and West Ham. I remember him celebrating in front of our support at Upton Park once. Twat!
-
The Souness era was the worst for me, just because it was such a contrast to what had went before. We were good before he joined and he destroyed us. The current situation comes close though. We are the joke of the nation, not just the footballing world, the nation!

Don't be a peabrain. Right - so how about a bunch of white scam artists managing to cobble together enough money to buy the club. Think first. It isn't about nationality or colour its "Will they improve the club" ? And why are they automatically 'scam artists'? Of course it's f***ing nationality and colour. Then explain HOW they are great businessmen and will benefit the club. You hardly know anything about them! Your opinions seem to stem from your reaction of a few scam emails from Nigeria. Another pillock with no answer then ? Like you, I don't know anything about them, so of course I have no answer.

What have we to protest against? Not the manager, we don't have one. And as for the owner, he's selling up. There's nobody to protest at.

I would hope this morning if he's to do anything for the Blackburn game. Tonight to work out what he has and to construct a plan, then tomorrow to work on that plan in training. All a bit rushed, but thats where we are.
