Bloke was on his own in yards of space. Haway? Blamin the keeper -
Anderson, bruno and big joe… quite a creative set there! Like it! if miggy keeps the form up we could see something close to our first team tonight

Contrary to the majority, i think the following teams will be good and/or average next season and we will compete with them at the top end of the table: Arsenal - still a soft core team who do not like physical/up´n at em´games. Yes, will score more goals but are very susceptible to them as well. West ham - apart from Rice, I struggle to see them continuing their form. Villa - decent signings, but unsure whether or not Gerrard is a class manager, we will see this season. To challenge top six? leicester - no signings and not great vibes for Rogers. No way are they callenging. Manu - it will take a couple of losses for them to fall apart again. They are very fragile. Spurs, Citeh and Liverpool will almost certainly be top 3, with chelsea in and about. But 5th 6th and 7th are wide open in my opinion....

With regard to the newcastle predictions everyone is making, why the negativity? I dont think Manu will be ahead of us, they are very fragile and I think a couple of losses and they will lose their heads. Arsenal are still a soft core team, they now have a class front line but that doesnt change a mind set, they will fañter as well. We have a full pre-season with Howe and I would bet my house that we sign a right winger and striker within a couple of weeks. We will be very hard to beat and will have a bit more bite up front with calum and new player to attack with. Top six, or seventh if the others dont falter line I think they will….

Where will we finish?: 6th Top Goalscorer?: calum Season memory: Bruno and joe dominating Who will be the first player to be sent off for us?: Big dan

Honestly, could you take the religion/race/politics/social conditioning schlurp to another thread pls? I enjoy the footy/player based threads but really do not enjoy these round in circles debates… rant over…

still not wrthy thread

Reading the story from Gosling (Watford) about some of their players, not sure if I would want Sarr or Dennis, he doesn´t name any names but not sure if the attitudes of them will be the right ones.
-
Very happy for him to stay. If he is good enough he should be in the squad (doesn´t take up a place...)
-
The only worry I have about Schar is his lack of pace, Burn when tired is also prone to a mistake. It is deffo going to be Botman with one of those two partnering him. Personaly, I would go with Burn, I prefer his aggression and height.

Class!! Really made me giggle

I like Harrison, every time I have watched leeds he has been one of their stand out players. supreme athleticism, works his socks off and technically adept. He would be a great signing, just that we have been spoilt rotten with the Diaby rumours….

Right wing & striker = Necessity CM = Luxury
-
Come on folks he has been absolute dog turd for three seasons now. Not goodby, but Good Riddance!
-
Y marco asensio seems just the typical non-story that the spanish sports press churn out. Would be great if true, lad has bags of potential and can score goals.

I clearly think we will all be surprised at how much we spend this summer. I would go as far as to say we will get Diaby, Paqueta and a back up striker. If the PIF is willing to spend a rumoured 2 billion to get the LIV golf tournament running and accepted, they already have a likeable team that is 100-150m players short of being a top six team. The trigger will be pulled , I am sure of it. Patience is a virtuye, eh Mehdrad?

Reading the arguments above: since Eddie came in his main deficiency was the defence (now sorted), followed by a huge lack of goals. The right hand wing and a reserve striker are musts! Another midfielder would be a bonus but as it stands our midfield was the best part of our team second half of last season. If we were to add a midfielder, I dont actually agree with the majority that a DM is what we need. I think a hard working AM/No10 is much more necessary (Paqueta pls), but Joe willock could easily recover his goalscoring form? The work rate is already there…
-
I agree, he is made of glass. But you have to counter that he is absolute class when fully fit and brings a huge amount to the team. Take a punt on him that he doesn´t get injured this year and then have him as back up when we bring in osihmen/schick next year...
-
For me it would have to be the right wing first i.e. Diaby. Then, to actually transform our attacking intent, without losing any defensive force, paqueta would be immense. He could play the role willock has done (attacking central midfielder/sort of Nº10) but also offer versatility if one of the other forwards got injured. The obvious strategy we are pursuing with regard to a striker is to find a good understudy to Callum. I really rate him as a striker and what he brings to the team, but his injury record really has been awful. He seems to get a lot of "niggles" and more important injuries each year and he´s getting no younger...
-
If anybody has taken real notice of the Diaby youtube videos, and his assists (not all of them great), you can see what an unbelievable finisher Patrick Schick is!! He would be worth lining up for next year or a nice chrissie present
-
Just get rid... pay them to take them if necessary
-
Diaby would be Mega! we are crying out for some quality on the right hand side. with some sort of back up for wilson we could well be a top six side
-
I feel the same, always has flattered to deceive. He seems too lightweight for midfield and is one of those player who turns up for one in three games. Not my cup of char tbh...
-
It is great to be watching them being humbled after the turbo charged arrogance we all had to put up with from strawberry nose
-
We deffo need goals from midfield to back up callum and new striker. diaby or sarr and paqueta would give us enough versatility. Paqueta has played as a false nine so could cover callum if needed. up and coming striker to bring through also
