As an aside, he does seem a bit of a D**k-head (see video released earlier in season)

Aye, to be fair, Toney has single handedly chipped in with a good few goals for brentford this season. My mate is a bees fan and he gushes over him, every time I have seen him he looks awkward to play against. If chris is worth 25M, i sure wouldn´t mind splashing 30M on him!!!

Very narrow formation and easier to defend than having ASM and XXX out wide...

I think palace are like us in many respects; they have a young manager who yhas them well organised and more difficult to beat than they were, a couple of "star" players who can turn a game and they are difficult to beat at home but average on their travels. If we can keep zaha quiet and dominate/control the mdifield like we have in the last two we should beat them or draw at least... I don´t think I would make any changes from Sunday`s line up, and bringing off a couple of players at 60/70 mins to freshen things up...

I think we need to be able to play a more expansive game. We defend well and are orgaised defending, but we lack technical quality to be able to dominate possession and control the game. Need a few more good transfer windows to enable the next step...

Well done to Eddie! Couldn't stand seeing him on the team sheet not too long ago, and he has been solid over a few games now. Fair play to himtp and the coaching team. His backing off seems to have virtually dissappeared...amazing!!
-
He is solid in the air and comfortable on the ball. Easily stay in the first team, just needs a pacy centre back beside him for me. Schar has been shown up for his lack of oace a few times but would be great to keep and fight for his place

First game in about four years, I thought it was really quiet. Wolves fans outsung us until the goal... We controlled the game and they only really got two/three shots on goal, we were very tight in defence and good on the break. Maxi looked decent all night and the heel to joe was sublime. Still has to learn to pass the ball a bit quicker.

First game in a long time (pre-covid), over for Easter and really looking forward to it! It will be a tight game but as they are missing their striker and two other first teamers it should equal things a little bit. Hope to see Maxi at full tilt and would love to see chris wood get a goal. bruno will play 100% as jonjo looked well off it on sunday...

What the hell has he got on his feet?
-
Shelvey looked very leggy yesterday, seemed like he was running on a treacle covered pitch at times. Bruno switch for him and possibly get fraser and ASM to switch sides a bit as i think we are becoming predictable and they just double up on ASM and it seems to be working...
-
I don't mind him losing the ball as long as it is in the final third, he needs to be taught when and when not to take the risks. He was good in the first half today and made the minimum requirement of covering passes and pressing (in his manner). The second half he was back to his defensive worst; strolling and not coordinating with his team mates when the press was triggered. A few times you could see the top five press hard and him let through his marks.
-
Aye, Eddie has it covered! Need a big effort from a full house to get the boys back on track. Although loathe to say it, I would have krafty back instead of manquillo next game, Bruno from the start. ASM was good in spurts today especially first half, but still does my head in when the players around him are rushing to press and he is waddling (2nd half)...
-
His work off the ball is phenomenal. He is what he is and helps the way we play ie high press/ capitalize on mistakes and knocking on the high ball... He is deffo not a mid/top of the table striker.
-
For me manquillo, shelvey, big joe and fraser were all very poor today. The rest weren't at the races. Spurs had some very sharp passing and confidence on the ball, their front three were top class.
-
He's playing well, actually giving the passes he needs to. Great little touch to draw the foul from kane

what type of player is paqueta?

I reckon we could pick up some great players at decent prices: let´s go back to city for Nathan Ake, he hasn´t played at all and is highly thought of. Or lloyd kelly from the championship, doubt either would be more than 20/25M... Christensen and rudiger at chelsea on frees, but doubt they would come! Fernandinho is out of contract in the summer, old, but a 100% upgrade on jonjo. Pascal Gross at brighton also out of contract, a good attacking midfielder. Jesse Lingard could be a great bet as long as he doesn´t want mental wages. Nekethia and origi out of contract in the summer for front line players.

The major complaints i have with Southgate´s selections are: Pickford, he has had a pretty poor season so far and seems to have become much more error prone/lost confidence. Maguire, way out of form and I have never believed the hype about him. The only good attacking trait he had was bringing the ball 15-20 yards straight out of defence, the rest was average, oh... and the size of his swede! Shaw, was great at the euros but is struggling now. Sterling, hardly ever plays for city but is a cert for england??? As for rice and phillips, I also think there are games where one defensive pivot is enough, he needs to be a bit more positive as we have a lot of attacking talent. perhaps a 4-1-4-1
-
Backbone of the team for next season: Trippier, Burn, Targett, Bruno, ASM and Big Joe. Depending on whether Eddie is comfy with ASM being an attacking outlet only... New: Goalkeeper, Centre forward, centre back, defensive midfielder, right and left wingers. Fighting for a place in the team: Dubs, Fraser, Willock, Manquillo, Calum, Murphy, Schar, Shelvey Rest can be fed to pigs or try and get some peanuts for them...
-
Italian press saying we are after Dybala in the summer. Don´t know if it has been picked up over in UK? Not very realistic...
-
Redondo was also a "one in three" player, you never knew who was going to turn up; the midfield ghost or the sublime attacker...
-
I agree, mr consistency, a good premier league defender with a minimum 7 out of ten on offer every game. Good corner taker is a bonus!
-
Just had a look at Burnley/Watford/Leeds/Everton games left and I reckon they can all look at a generous maximum of 12/13 points. We are nine points ahead so I reckon a win and a couple of draws will see us safe...
