Bruce is deffo the worst of the lot of them, proper plastic geordie, always trying to wiggle his way out of taking responsibility and blaming anything and anyone he could. Absolute garbage as a manager! Pardew was second after we got to know the real sneak/creep of a person after the leaks about "the king", his sideline antics and interviews. Kinnear was a joke from minute one and was one of Ashley´s spiteful moments to get one back on us. the rest (Dalgleish, souness, allardice) were just pretty average managers who I don´t think had much interest in us tbh, and us in them obviously!

I think it´s quite possible we might bring Targett back to counter Antony. Not sure if Burn is the best for rapid opposition players...

If we win/draw against Manu it would be a real milestone, for me it would show that we really are in a place to compete for europa league places. If we are lucky enough to keep the squad fit for the majority of games till the world cup break, i really can see a couple of signings coming in in jan and keeping us ticking over in the top seven/eight.

I agree. But Longstaff for me has been a level much lower than the others, would rather tighten us up and bring maxi back in tbh...

I really hope we don´t keep longstaff in midfield for Manu, he has been making too many mistakes for me and is too slow releasing the ball (gets caught too often), and a midfield of Big joe, willock and Bruno is much more competitive. With regard to Maxi and Murphy; I would rather Maxi was on for 60-70 mins and if we are winning we bring on murphy who is better defensively and can counter if necessary...

I thought Manu looked pretty good last night, but as a caveat Everton were absolute dog-poo. Even Ronaldo did a bit of work for a change. I still think we can match them.

Longstaff has been very poor, dispossessed a lot and at fault for their nearly goal: lost ball to mbuema then couldnt be arsed to track back with him…

No chance he would keep Longstaff in instead of Joe. If he really wants to put out his best eleven each week he has to be ruthless. longs hasn’t really done anything “wrong”, but Joe is a big step up…

I used to think he was quite a useful player and would "come good". There are two ways of viewing it; the team has got much better and most of the players with it, so it shows more when the level drops and the other view is that he has not got better as many of the rest of the squad has. He still gives his 100% which is a good 6 to 7 performance at best, so we should take that into consideration. *Obviously, it would be a crime not to play Maxi instead of him if he is fit! But would feel kinda sorry for him if he was dropped after one of the better games he has played for us...

Honestly, at the level they play at you can hardly become a "technical" player overnight through training. You either have the skillset or you don´t. Pope is OK with his feet but he is not a ball player, would say he is better than average... You can certainly get better but let´s not start hoping for beckenbauer between the posts any time soon.
