  1. But with Asworth at the helm we are probably (I hope) looking to catch these up and coming superstars before their valuation is multiplied by 5/10

Thanks! If we make two new siginings (remove latters)we would have a pretty decent bench as well!!!

P.S. how many subs can we have on the bench? Now that you can do five changes... deffo subs: Dubs / Burn / Kraft / Longstaff / Murphy / Wood / Elliot

Willock has looked better than longstaff for me so: ---------------------Pope--------------------- Trippier------Schar-------Botman-------Targett ------Willock-------Bruno------joe--------- ----Miggy--------Calum---------ASM
  5. he was playing really well last night, very composed on the ball and a couple of his over the top raking passes were very close to making a difference. he covered a decent bit of ground as well, actually looked faster than normal or maybe a bit thinner...
  6. This 100%. I am beginning to think that if someone offered us 35M (standard price for any bugga these days) for him, I would snap their hand off and buy someone who would put the work in and offer some more attacking prowess. they don´t have to be "great to watch" just efficient in what they do and their contribution to the team...
  7. Difficult one! The step from league two to champions league level is quite a jump. I don´t want to judge him on one performance... and Benfica did play well in the first half, some slick passing and aggressive approach! I would love him to come in and be our "Geordie Maradona" but i just don´t think it is realistic and the expectation could kill the kid. loan him out until christmas to a championship side and if he kills it bring him back and if he struggles let him grow with it...
  8. Both longstaff and elliot seemed way off the pace of the game, this probably made bruno try harder and resulted in a few "forced" mistakes. Both shelvey and Big Jow looked much more comfortable on the ball and also looked much more zoned in on recovering the ball. Joe was majestic in his first twenty minutes, was like have an adult playing against a load of ten year olds!!! I liked Willock as well, added a bit of zest and great engine! Honestly thought the defence in the second half looked ten times better than the first half performance (Botman not included). The passing was much better (shelvey helped this a lot- he impressed) and less panicked (lascelles). Both the youngster and krafty played a lot better than targett and trippier, although trippier got up the pitch a couple of times and helped the goals. Calum didn´t play his best but i thought the centre half (big lad) who was marking him had a great game and got away with murder (crap ref). If calum gets injured we are Funked! (no back up tbf...). Resumé: We 100% need another striker in before window shuts. this is a no brainer! A right midfielder cum striker would be perfect, but if Miggy kept this form up in the league we would be laughing...
  9. He has been head and shoulders above the rest in preseason (seen two games) so far. He is a nailed on starter for the righ wing at the moment.

    Joelinton

    Who’s the daddy? oh yeah!
  11. Zero tracking back and the pass to the winger on his side is ALWAYS on
  12. Botman has looked pretty good. Maxi can only attack, his defensive rating on Fifa has gone down to -34? lascelles is the opposite to maxi. longstaff looks a yard too slow. dont like pope with ball at feet anderson… meh callum getting a right fight from the big lad miggy=god
  13. Fuck me! Who is the new guy called Almiron! what a baller!!!
  14. Bloke was on his own in yards of space. Haway? Blamin the keeper
  15. Anderson, bruno and big joe… quite a creative set there! Like it! if miggy keeps the form up we could see something close to our first team tonight

    Predictions 22/23

Contrary to the majority, i think the following teams will be good and/or average next season and we will compete with them at the top end of the table: Arsenal - still a soft core team who do not like physical/up´n at em´games. Yes, will score more goals but are very susceptible to them as well. West ham - apart from Rice, I struggle to see them continuing their form. Villa - decent signings, but unsure whether or not Gerrard is a class manager, we will see this season. To challenge top six? leicester - no signings and not great vibes for Rogers. No way are they callenging. Manu - it will take a couple of losses for them to fall apart again. They are very fragile. Spurs, Citeh and Liverpool will almost certainly be top 3, with chelsea in and about. But 5th 6th and 7th are wide open in my opinion....

    Predictions 22/23

With regard to the newcastle predictions everyone is making, why the negativity? I dont think Manu will be ahead of us, they are very fragile and I think a couple of losses and they will lose their heads. Arsenal are still a soft core team, they now have a class front line but that doesnt change a mind set, they will fañter as well. We have a full pre-season with Howe and I would bet my house that we sign a right winger and striker within a couple of weeks. We will be very hard to beat and will have a bit more bite up front with calum and new player to attack with. Top six, or seventh if the others dont falter line I think they will….

    Predictions 22/23

Where will we finish?: 6th Top Goalscorer?: calum Season memory: Bruno and joe dominating Who will be the first player to be sent off for us?: Big dan
  19. Honestly, could you take the religion/race/politics/social conditioning schlurp to another thread pls? I enjoy the footy/player based threads but really do not enjoy these round in circles debates… rant over…
  20. Reading the story from Gosling (Watford) about some of their players, not sure if I would want Sarr or Dennis, he doesn´t name any names but not sure if the attitudes of them will be the right ones.
  21. Very happy for him to stay. If he is good enough he should be in the squad (doesn´t take up a place...)
  22. The only worry I have about Schar is his lack of pace, Burn when tired is also prone to a mistake. It is deffo going to be Botman with one of those two partnering him. Personaly, I would go with Burn, I prefer his aggression and height.
  23. Class!! Really made me giggle
