I think we are playing a tactical game so that we don´t pay inflated transfer fees in January. I reckon it´s a done deal and as soon as Rafa signs who he wants; we will declare and everyone will live happily ever after....

Steven Nzonzi would fit the bill perfectly, but his value has soared since he went to Spain Quadruple the footballer he was when he was in the UK. Would be a great buy! Defensive midfielder with good vision and passing skills as well as being an athlete and dirty barsteward on top!!

With Merino a bit further up the pitch he can relax a bit more. Everton in the same boat as us and seem a bit brittle also. Need a goal early to settle us.

Would also like to see gayle on today, perhaps joselu in the nº10 position, as we have no counter attacking pace now through injuries...

Would like to see him involved today, even if coming off the bench. Thought he has looked good in the fleeting glimpses we have had of him. Compared to putting ayoze out on the wing. If Rafa risks putting on the twin and he plays badly he might shatter his confidence...

Aye, we can say that the front two put in a shift, but you expect more from a forward in one of the top leagues in the world! We may as well get a couple of marathon runners in at Nº9 & Nº10 and they will press even better... Hhhhmmm. Not satisfied at all. Ayoze has turned from being an outstanding talent into a faded caricature of a player.

I thought that Burnley were gathering a head of steam for a good part in the second half leading to their goal. We were awful in bringing the ball out and the first sign of pressure the ball was back to elliot who booted it back to them. Worst game I have seen from us in a while. Up front we are appalling at the moment, there is absolutely no spark or creation from the front players. Didn´t help that both wingers had an off game.

I would go for a single change with merino in for ayoze. We need something extra in the nº10 position. I would persevere with yoselu and bring on Mitro if necessary in the second half. I like lejuene and lascelles in the defence, also like the fact they are both decent in the air for corners and free kicks.

Would have merino on at n10, given that he plays there for spanish uder 23s. Might even give mitro a bash, Joselu has worked hard but has nt really been a fret (vomit at vocab use)

So erm... caught out of position? Erm... No! When a full back goes forward one of the midfielders should drop so that his position is covered, either hayden or shelvey are to blame if manquillo joins the attack...

Very poor again today. N10 is top priority in Jan, ahem... or a striker Defense and midfield looks good and with options, not that worried.

Alzo thought he played well today, he left lejeunne alone on a couple of occasions but that was only because he was involved in attacks. He's growi g on me game by game

Is it just me or was elliot playing in slow motion for coutinho's shot? Thought he could have do e better. He rescued his neck through a few good saves later on.

Aye, that´s a good point. As a possible Nº10; I would like to see how Ritchie could perform there, and put one of aarons or murphy in his place on the wings.

Brighton look like rabbits caught in the lights so far. A steady start and then impose ourselves, their fans seem to be intent on projecting impending doom which will play right into our hands. Definitely think we need to change Ayoze, we need more goal threat from that position. He does do the covering work and dispossesses other players during the game but we honestly need much m ore than that from a number 10. Same team from last week but with a new number 10... Rafa, you can choose if you like

Too easily shoved off the ball and his decisions are just a fraction too slow meaning he is caught with the ball too often.

Would Gayle be capable of playing in there as a number 10? I can see Jose is trying but he just isn´t up to the standard we need for our attacking midfielder...

All round game is really impressive. He doesn´t seem to be excellent at any one thing... but very competent at everything.

I agree with this line up, but think that shelvey would be better alongside hayden with Merino playing in the more advanced position

Without wanting to ruin the party; west ham were absolute gash yesterday. Their midfield with Noble was as pedestrian as Ive seen...

He's been skinned a couple of times by antonio, better going forward though... Merino having a corker and Joselo involved in a lot.

Aye, he was poor on saturday. Thought Mooy controlled the midfield throughout. We really need to upgrade a couple of positions. Striker, no10 and combative midfielder.
