We say that, but strangely he's happy to pass ballbouncingly good bonuses to run of the mill staff in SD. Like crazy good. Based on, if they make him money, he gives them money. IIRC most of Pardew's contract is based around sell-on profits.
  3. Posted myself before, haven't put a penny into the club for years now. All my cash has gone to my second club (Bilbao - wife is Basque )

No he doesn't, his job is to put out the best team on the day, not polish the egos of players who were happy to jump ship a month ago. I think he meant that HE has to cater to egos.. cause he's Pardew..
  5. Put a vote on Pellegrini me... easiest manager to sack, owners have no quibbles paying out millions.

Women teams need a bloke in goal then it might be worth a watch

    Alan Pardew

I don't rate Pardew at all, but it makes a big difference having a pre-season with all those new bodies we got in January to help blend the squad together. It must have been a right job with 5 first teamers through the door in January to keep the squad balance and morale. Not withstanding they were signed 6 months too late, I do think even with the same team, without Europe we're going to be in a hell of a lot better shape than last season.

Championship players of English nationality can be told to play it out from the back it's not rocket science. It's a case of working on it in training and then just doing it. I'm pretty sure we played more long-ball than any other team last season. It's Pardew's trademark. Due to the recruitment that he has no hand in, he's being forced to change to the needs of the squad as his job is under pressure now. God knows where we'd end up with a manager who's any use, like a Martinez or Laudrup, with this squad. Man for man there's just no excuse.
  9. Pure confidence player and on his day unplayable.

So true. He's had the balls to drop Tiote, now he needs to do it with Cisse though. Whether Cisse or Gouffran starts next match will be the leveller for me if it was a fluke or a sign of better things to come.
  11. For those watching, do you think Remy'd work up the middle with Gouffran left? Cisse sounds completely toothless

I've actively stopped supporting Newcastle United until we become a football club again. Up Los Liones!
  13. I made this point over 3 years ago. There is no TV money when it comes to NUFC.
  14. I've been saying Moyes is a disastrous choice since he got the job, f*** all to do with today. Would have been difficult to get anybody within a million miles of Ferguson tbf, but a bloke who got Everton to a few mid-table finishes was never the one. It'll be interesting to watch it unfold, and fwiw Moyes was Ferguson's choice, Ferguson must have seen something. Scottish nepotism

    Hatem Ben Arfa

One of the only things I give credit to Pardew for is managing Ben Arfa correctly and I think he still is here. Basically he's treating him as he is, a world class talent, so his standards are higher for him than of other players. Used to annoy the hell out of me 2 years ago when Pardew would constantly criticise Ben Arfa for something and then someone like Obertan would get praised. Further down the line now I can see what he's doing. Obertan was at his limits whereas Ben Arfa always had another level he can go to when he's focused. He's right as well because for just over half of that game Hatem was making incorrect decisions, for example shooting from 30 odd yards when he's got people in the box etc. 2nd half was far better as he was shooting at the right times and crossing at the right times. Agreed, Pardew isn't a totally inept manager across all accounts. His man-management is often very good with almost all our players.

And there's the rub. Nothing will happen with the mantra 'support the club, not the regime'. 45,000+ will still walk through the door every second Saturday and Ashley can do whatever the f*** he wants. From this season onwards they're part of the problem, as far as I'm concerned. They've had their season to figure it out, any longer and they're complicit in it. The saddest thing about all this is that Ashley has proved without doubt that you can do virtually anything you want to NUFC fans and they'll keep giving you their money. It's not the best message to send to the rich folk of the world. I dunno, I support my other club more now, Athletic (Bilbao). Was there a couple of weeks ago and spent £200 of my hard earned in their official club shop. Have spent £0 on NUFC in the last 2 seasons, not even Sky Sports And I've been an NUFC fan for 22 years. I'll happily get back on board when Ashley goes.

What's depressing is that Kinnear IS actually a better manager than Pardew who has actually at one point gotten the players to perform beyond the sum of their parts. Now I'm not suggesting for one second that he's someone I want managing the club that I think I still support (I question myself every day), but he would be better than Pardew. It would be like picking diarrhea over gonorrhea though.

    Paul Gascoigne

There's no other option but treatment. 'Locking [him] up' is an inhumane (and, as I'd expect you to know, impracticable) response, as is leaving him to his own devices. The only solution is to put him in a place where he can't drink, can't interact with the outside world and can reflect upon what a thorough mess he's become and why. He needs to be imprisoned or detained under the MHA for a long period, not days, weeks or months. He's f***ing ill you arsehole! Soz pal. Forgot being detained under the MHA was only for those who are a bit silly. Tbh it's kind of an all-encompassing proviso that if you know or suspect someone to have mental have issues, you can get them off the street and properly assessed/cared for. Very quick tool to defuse situations etc, like breach of the peach.

Was very good cover and very reliable in the end, we are going to miss him big time.

    Xisco

AFAIK Zola wasn't his surname, it was Makongo.
  21. I thought he played just in front of the back four there? Afaik we've tried playing him pushed up near the top of the midfield, less time on the ball and less time to create and harder to get in the box as he's often the one playing the final ball? Just my thoughts.

    Kevin Keegan

Great vid that, but it saddens me that we once had a hero and now we've got absolute zeros at the club. His voice trembled when asked his favourite moment and talking about his England appearance. His passion is all-consuming and he's given me certainly a taste of something I don't think I'll ever experience again as a fan.
