    You missed out Amady Faye.
  2. Mackem in my office reckons they're nailed on down. I like your scenario mind.

    Obafemi Martins

I don't think many people are creaming their pants over him any more tbf. A lot do still see him as our most likely saviour, which isn't the same thing by a long shot.
  4. I lived there for 3 years without finding a pub that wasn't best avoided when Stoke were playing home or away
  5. For the Stokies on here - are there any good pubs nearby for away fans / pubs that definitely should be avoided?

That's the key. Same reason the majority are more than happy to overlook Gutierrez's failings.
  7. The only cringeworthy thing I see here is the narrow minded xenophobia of certain members. Don't like non-Geordies supporting the club? Well then you'd best f*** off from an internet forum where nearly 50% of the members are foreign. After 8 months I'm perfectly capable of ignoring the usual rubbish about Keegan being to blame etc, cheers and I never implied anything of the sort btw Good, after 8 months I've adjusted myself somewhat to ignoring the usual rubbish about the man with 50% responsibility for this debacle being made into some sort of sainted matyr. KK's more than 50% responsible for this debacle really. If it wasn't for him, we wouldn't have a premiership club to support capable of getting in a debacle like this, we'd just be meandering along somewhere in the football league. Also, even if he was 100% responsible for the situation that led to him leaving the club (NB I'm not implying, nor do I believe this is anything like the truth) I'm pretty sure that some competance at board room level would have seen us safe by now given the number of games remaining when KK departed. p.s. I love Sir Bobby Robson.

I actually think he keeps and uses the ball much better than he used to. Still not great like, and Saturday's woeful showing is definitely not good enough. As I said before, I think half of the reason people like Martins is due to his quirkiness. Put Asprilla into that category as well. Technically gifted, no doubt. Had a wow factor about him, no doubt. Eccentric, no doubt. Ultimately though - too laconic, lazy and half-arsed in terms of work-rate. For me Asprilla's overall effectiveness, because his goal ratio certainly didn't offset his suspect work rate/effort, totals less than half a dozen games. Yet the same player is unfairly adored when compared with some other vastly underrated & more influential players - ie. Gavin Peacock - and some of whom are unfortunately & unfairly despised to this day ie. Robert & Bellamy. Agree with you until the last bit. Very, very few people don't appreciate the huge amount Bellamy and Robert did for this club.
  9. Massive day out this. Never been to the brittania before, might have to be careful with the club colours from what I've heard about Stoke Need something. Something to cling on to.
  10. Done that more than once, dived a fair few times (derby at home this season) and gets away with a lot (should have been sent off at home to Liverpool and Manu this season).
  11. The 8 games is an insurance thing - he might not want to manage us if we go down. If we stay up he's sticking around unless something drastic happens.
  12. Rob Lee always does. Sir Les talks with affection.
  13. I was just watching lunchtime news at home. Absolutely brilliant.
  14. I reckon we could have signed him at the start of this season for about £6m if we'd wanted. Ramos didn't really fancy him.
  15. He strikes me as a limited player, if he is used well and comes up against a weak left back, yeah, he'll more than likely have a good game. But I don't see him having enough good games, albeit the past couple of months he's raised his game slightly. He needs to develop his game though to become a top player, because he has the natural physical ability. Needs to be more intelligent, and for the love of god learn to produce an end product. Agree absolutely with the last sentance, but he's been good all season for Spurs. For my sins I've watched pretty much every televised Spurs game this season (the gf supports them) and under Ramos he was the only one who looked even half decent. Had a very, very good year - if he could cross a bit more consistently he'd have been one of the very best in the league. Head and shoulders above the rest over their rabble over the course of the season. I think he's been made to look better though due to generally how poor they've been, and quite frankly how poor the PL has been this season (albeit just as interesting for football fans). That said, I'd have him in my team. Just hope he continues to develop, could be a cracking player in a year or 2 if he could. That said he's about 24 or so now isnt he? Nah, younger than Milner. I think he's 21 (poss 22), just burst onto the scene when very young. Classic exciting winger.
  16. 50 goals, club legend tbh. edit: cant be bothered to work it out myself, but I'd love it if someone would work out how old he'd be before he broke Shearer's record at his current goals / season ratio. I reckon he'd be into his 60s.

  18. He's been excellent for Spurs this season, even when his end product's been poor he's terrified the opposition. Looked unusually nervous on Wednesday though, and I agree that his off the ball movement looked very poor.
  19. That's a load of utter toss imo. Did you not see who posted it?
  20. That's the best we can hope for I reckon. A win isn't completely out of the question, but it's so unlikely as to not really be woth thinking about seriously. More importantly we need to make sure we don't lose the apparant momentum this appointment has given us. It's the following home games in which our destiny is in our own hands.
  21. Wasn't he signed right at the end of July? Probably. Ask a stupid question get a stupid answer though. I assumed it was something to do with staged payments though rather than it all being paid upfront the day he signed.

    4. I reckon we're just about more likely to stay up than go down now.
