Given S.Taylor Coloccini Bassong Enrique Beye Gutierrez Butt N'Zogbia Owen Martins something like that wasn't it? I think Geremi was in the middle. I'm sure Cacapa played at some point too.

I remember how good he looked, I also remember how s*** he actually was last season. I believe he got 3 assists last year, utterly woeful given the players he had in front of him. His end product has been far more useful this year in a significantly inferior league, much like shola. Don't get me wrong, he's been essential this year but let's not re-write last season. I'm talking about that little period in December, where we looked a very good side and dominated Stoke and Portsmouth. That period ended with Oba getting a groin injury and us being destroyed by Liverpool at SJP. Our better attacking players were pretty much injured or half-fit from that point on in the season, and before that as well, tbh. It was often Shola or Carrol up there otherwise. Against Stoke he had a good first half (set up the opener) but played centre mid second half after Guthrie's injury and was useless. He didn't know how to play through the middle at all and was shocking. I don't really remember him doing anything against pompey all game either although he did play the short pass to Owen for his goal. Like I say, he's been good this season but let's not re-invent last year. That might have had something to do with Kinnear's brain fart to play Beye on the right wing as well though. Hardly going to help a player to adapt last minute to a new position if the guy next to him is also suddenly operating in a completely different area of the pitch he is used to. Maybe. I'd blame it more on the fact that Jonas looked shite in the centre tbh. That match was ridiculous mind, I thought we were going to do them 5-0 after the first half, we were so dominant up to that point and so useless after.

87 by the time he signs for a premiership team.

It is clearly been done to gain a fitness edge - there is no social esteem benefit a top flight footballer can get from anti-obesity drugs. Coke was idiocy and not cheating (and therefore he should have got off a lot lighter than the likes of Jaap Stam), but this is idiocy and cheating so no longer has any sympathy from me. It depends to what extent, which is why I asked. I don't see the problem unless he's one on one with someone like Nolan. An anti-obesity drug will increase the whole energy burning cycle, which will make him fitter during a match Aye, cheating then. As a related subject. Imagine bringing in a drug lift in sport, and just letting them become X-Man United ahohoho. But seriously, imagine it. Don't like the idea of 19 year old sportsmen being made to wake up and walk to the bathroom and back every hour just to stop them dying of a heart attack in their sleep personally. Alright, you know the most about drugs in sports. Any need for the big head?

You must really hate cycling then. Not really, because you know the cyclists will get caught because their drugs testing is so much better. Some sports like football and tennis are in complete drug denial and will be until some scandal occurs in the future. Cheating's more prevalent in cycling because it's more beneficial to the athlete. Drugs benefit anyone. Better fitness equals better technique. And the financial benefits of standing out as a footballer are huge, so you'd expect some to try. Are you aware that the most infamous cycling drug doctor was actually a doctor at a top-flight Spanish football club, and was even offerred a job at Barcelona? So fucking easy Having said that, I stand by my last post. That's not to say that drugs wouldn't benefit a footballer mind.

True, but they haven't been for so long I'd give him a bit of credit for at least getting them close. Torres is the best player I've ever seen play for them too. He does seem a bit crackers with his transfers to say the least though.
-
I thought the opening post was going to say "if we weren't shit" It's an interesting one though. I mentioned it in the WBA match thread, Hughton seems to have stumbled across this formation that allows us to not bother ever having a central midfielder on the pitch. Seems to be working though, fair play, almost up there with KK's 433.
-
50/50 jest/truth. I think the criticism on him is way OTT personally. They've been poor this season and his transfer record is very poor overall (although Torres is one of the best signings in the last 5 years) but Liverpool have never been a title threat in my or your lifetime really and he nearly got it going last year.
-
i'm in the middle. i don't get the criticicism of him but don't get the over the top praise from some either. He's very popular in the ground because he always seems to run his bollocks off I think. I rate him, could be a very decent striker one day. He needs to learn to attack the 6 yard box more to get more goals, some aspects of his game are very impressive given his age mind. Fingers crossed on him.
-
Yup. He brought in Phil Thompson, and Rafa Sammy Lee, and with that being what was left of the Boot Room, there's your reason why it closed, too. Souness is the one who f***ed it all up, of course. Practically destroyed a dynasty. Like the f***ing Scorpion King from the Mummy, him. How long do you think Benny will last? I think he'll be off in the summer, unfortunately. Juve might not wait that long, but I'm sure he'll have several offers, and I think he's just about had enough of Hicks and Gillett. "unfortunately" Benitez hasn't half done a job on you lot, turning his own shortcomings into a stick to beat the Americans with. I've said it a million times now but last year was the closest they've come to winning the league in my living memory. He also won the Champions league. How Everton would hate to have a manager that shit...
-
Dawson too. And Reid
-
In his early 80's I think.
-
You can hope all you want, it will not change the actual outcome. Most players we sign are shit so he's got a decent chance of getting his wish.
-
I was just about to suggest Geremi for RB then...but he's in Africa.
-
Ronaldo?
-
Serves Sneijder right. I don't know what he said so it's impossible to say whether it was actually a red or not, but if the idiot hadn't been being such an utter wanker he wouldn't have been sent off, he's an utter bellend. So's pretty much everyone on the pitch as far as I can tell mind.
-
Without having a clue what the clauses are how can you possibly reach that conclusion?
-
The one that sealed Shola's hat-trick.

I'd go close-ish to full strength today. It won't be played, but my team (depending on availability) would probably be as below: Krul R Taylor Kadar Colo Enrique Pancrate Guthrie Butt Gutierrez Ranger Carroll
