  1. Tbh, the £33m fee seems absurdly low if we are getting £35m for Anderson. Although of course that Anderson fee is a leeeetle bit suspect.
  2. Him or Williams for daftly inflated fees seems likely. I am good with that.
  3. The PL have made a rod for their own back. These sort of deals and Chelsea selling hotels has delivered a solid boot to their knackers. Keep them coming I say.
  4. Yep, that's fair enough. If we do go on to sign a proven RW of genuine class, and this sale is what enables it to go through, then can't complain. But that does make RW an absolute priority now IMO.
  5. I'm sure he likes him, but we were trying to flog him in January.
  6. Not sure he's really cut out to be a PL player tbh, but I think he'd tear it up in the championship.
  7. I just don't want to get too carried away in case some journalist comes back in and tells us it was £10m all along.
  8. Even £60m would seem fair at this rate. Don't be too shocked if that's how much it ends up costing.
  9. Yep. I don't doubt it's good business from a PSR angle, but I still have a hunch he'll go on to be worth a lot more. Let's hope not though.
  10. If the £35m for Anderson deal is true, I think we might just have done all of the above.
  11. All's fair in love and stitching up PSR
  12. Yeah, for all that I was pissed off we couldn't get him out the door for £25m in January, I would never condone spewing hatred on social media against him. He's entitled to hold to his contract, but on here I will still say that I think it's time he left. He's been a great servant for us with an impeccable attitude. That said, if it's true we've got £35m for Anderson, it almost means Miggy could still be useful as a squad player.
  13. I'd consider £35m to be a half decent fee as it happens....
  14. Just brings home the reality of where we are as a club. A couple of years ago we would have wanted to be buying these sort of players before Brighton got them. At this point they are buying them off us. For all the talk of he's unproven at the PL level I'm still hugely disappointed, just going off what I've seen of him in highlight clips. Miggy refusing to budge in January has come back to bite us, and I'm sorry, but it will make me a lot less forgiving if he's still here next season cutting back and going backwards when he's been put through behind the defence.
  15. No problem at all with selling him, just feels like £10m is surprisingly low. Good deal for Forest, he's easily worth that.
  16. That's why I specifically said it failed "from an investment " POV. As a player I still rate Barnes, but it was a gamble in the sense it gave us two top class LW options and no genuine class RW ones. If we had qualified for some form of Europe you could say it paid off. We didn't and in that sense it failed, and we are now having to sell players we'd rather have held onto. At least it looks that way.
  17. I never really thought Gordon was any doubt tbh, pretty sure I backed him when we bought him, and thought he did more than well enough in his first season.

It's hardly a surprise that clubs are only interested in buying our good players who actually hold some resale value. If and when we actually sell any of them, I guess we'll only be able to judge the window once we see how that money is reinvested.
  19. I think there was still quite a few who thought that we still needed a RW over a LW though, because of the one swallow not making a summer wrt Miggy. Most of us didn't rate Murphy that highly either, and he actually had a decent season. Doesn't change the fact that neither of them should be considered more than squad players.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Well I can confirm I am biased against Luke Baldwards. As far as I'm concerned he earned it.
  21. I always got the impression we pushed our boat out for Barnes because Howe really likes him. He wasn't an investment signing like Livramento, Minteh or Hall, we went for him because he would make an immediate difference. In the end because he got injured along with other key members of the squad, he didn't have enough impact and the gamble failed if you look at it from the investment view. Now it seems we are having to sacrifice other players to pay for it.

The Minteh sale talk is obviously genuine, I don't think anyone is really disputing it. As for the stuff about Gordon or Isak, I doubt we are hawking our best players around, but Eales has already said we'll basically sell anyone for the right price. Does that bother me? Not particularly since I assume the price will be so high, no one will pay it.

Oh right. So it was THEM turning us down? This just gets better and better.

You never know, once the PL has wasted a few billion fighting legal battles the penny might eventually drop.
