Gutted if its Pardew. How on earth can you run a football club by hiring a man you met in a casino. Won't be giving this club another penny if this goes through.
-
Martin Jol would be my pick. Only realistic person who I've heard linked so far who I rate.

I can honestly say the way I feel at the moment I don't care about the game this week. Doubt I will bother watching it to be honest.

Gone straight from 4 to 9.

Hughton

They better have Mourinho or better lined up or there is going to be a vicious atmosphere on Saturday.
-
Deserved so much better. Did a fantastic job to get us promoted. Easily our best Manager since Sir Bobby.

What a fucking joke.

Woeful performance yesterday. Only players who even had remotely decent games were Taylor, Enrique, Simpson and Tiote. Everyone else was way below standard. What particularly annoyed me was the lack of effort. Jonas's pathetic tackle for the first goal and the general lack of pressing when West Brom had the ball. Guthrie was the worst player on the pitch. Fingers crossed he doesn't play again for a while.

Sol was very poor yesterday. Hopefully we see an improvement against Liverpool.

So if he pulls his groin and is out for a month are you still going to be saying that? It is madness for him to play. If he plays tonight this will be his 4th game in 10 days and he will be playing it not fully fit. On top of that if he does come through he will then have to play again on Saturday. You simply cannot expect a 21 year-old to be playing 5 games in 13 days and not feel the effects later in the season. He needs a rest and there will be plenty of other chances to play for England.

Thought that despite the scoreline it was a respectable display. Their first goal was sheer luck and the second should have been disallowed. We also had a few chances throughout the game and it could have been so much different had we taken one of them.
-
Barmy that their are even rumours of sacking Hughton when we are 9th in the league.
-
Ignoring the relief that we grabbed a point, we have got 1 point from three home games against Blackpool, Stoke and Wigan. That is relegation form.

Newcastle United v Wigan Pre-Match Thread - 16/10/10, 3.00 PM

It's a game we should win and need to win. The problem at the minute though is you just don't know what to expect. If we play like we did yesterday we should win but if we put in performance like we did against Stoke then we will get beat again. Also, this is really the type of game we should be going 4-4-2 in. At home against a relatively poor side we shouldn't be going just one up front. You would think against Wigan we shouldn't need five players packing the midfield. I'd go: Krul Perch-Colo(Sol)-Williamson-Enrique Routledge-Barton-Tiote-Jonas Amoebi-Carroll -
Played well but were robbed. 3 awful decisions by the ref. Absolutely fuming.

£20 for a game that is on TV and on a weeknight is crazy. 25k maximum is my guess. Surely with the extra TV money they will get for this game they could have had £10 adults and £5 concessions to make a real gesture to the fans that they wanted them to come along and back the team.
-
That is sort of the point. It's not just random match tickets that needs to be cheaper, it is everything. Season tickets and all match tickets should be cheaper. There also should be major discounts for cup matches (especially League Cup).
-
The fact is people are not stupid. Why would you fork out £25 minimum to see a match that is on TV, especially when you consider the public sector job losses and unertain economic conditions that are coming in the next few months. Football is fast becoming something that is a once in a while treat rather than a weekly event. This is not just a problem for Newcastle but for virtually every other football club in this country. If we offered tickets that people could get for say £10 minimum then SJP would be sold out every week but that is obviously not in the interest of those who control the purse strings.
-
Not yet. The league is the priority and we are still at a relatively early stage in the competition. If we make it through the next round though then we seriously need to start thinking about going for it.
-
I was a little unsure about him after the Accrington game but he played very well last night. Another bonus of us winning is it will mean he gets another first team oppurtunity which can only be a good thing.

Chelsea v Newcastle United - Wed 22nd September -7:45pm - League Cup 3rd Rd

I hope we go for it tonight and don't sit back and hope to nick a 1-0. My lineup would be: Krul R.Taylor Campbell Williamson Kadar Ranger Vukcic Smith Jonas Amoebi Lovenkrands Not the best lineup we could put out but at the same time we do need to give games to our squad players. -
Good point away from home. Well done lads.

To be fair the goal was Williamson's fault. Perch was marking the man behind him and Williamson should have been marking the man in front of Perch but wasn't close enough.
