As far as I'm concerned Allardyce has to earn the right to be here next year and I hope he does it, he's bought well and now needs to add quality to the quantity he had to bring in last window. So far his tactics and team selection has been baffling at times but it could just be him looking at different combinations of players. So is he the man? It's up to him to prove that he's the man.

Another good article from True Faith, the press are gutted that we're not feeding them crap and so try to invent a crisis, it's been like that for the last 6 months.
-
The question in the thread title asks 'Should Allardyce have been given/spent more in the summer?' I think he was given the money required to bring in the players that he wanted and they could get, as for should he have spent more, he's struggling to work with the ones he's brought in so the answer to that is probably no.

You should be the last person to comment.

Probably be struggling to spell it.....

1. A Premier League Match 2. A Championship Match (old 1st division) 6. A FA Cup Match 7. A FA Cup Semi-Final 8. A FA Cup Final 9. A League Cup Match 10. A League Cup Final 17. An English Derby, Newcastle v the mackems and Boro. Also West Ham v Arsenal at Wembley when Brooking scored. 18. An International, Home International, England v Northern Ireland 25. A Champions League Match 27. A UEFA Cup Match 29. A Cup Winners Cup Match 30. A Friendly, home and away. 31. A team win the league 32. A team get promoted 33. A team get relegated, Newcastle too often and the mackems v Gillingham. Will have also seen plenty over the years against us but can't list them. 35. A Penalty Shootout, the first one I can remember was in the League Cup when the mackems put us out. 36. A saved penalty 39. Participated in a pitch invasion, v Forrest and it was regular when I was a kid and we scored. 40. Seen a playoff final - Sort of, when the mackems were relegated by Gillingham at Joker Park 41. Watched a game at Old Wembley 43. Watched a game at the Millenium Stadium 49. Seen a top flight team beaten by a team at least two divisions below. You ask a Newcastle fan this? 50. Travelled more than 400 miles specifically to watch a game. I think I've done all of those.

Search Youtube for 'Neil Lennon heinously headbutts Alan Shearer's foot,' you might change your mind, I did .
-
It looked worse seeing it on Youtube than it did when it happened.
-
Have you got a crush on Alex Inglethorpe or something?
-
The one I've just watched said 'Neil Lennon heinously headbutts Alan Shearer's foot.'
-
I'll take that back about Shearer, I've just seen it again.
-
I think Shearer kicking Neil Lennon in the head was much much worse I don't think Shearer kicking Lennon was worse because I'm still not convinced that Shearer meant it although he probably did. Shearer was going down and was spinning, I think he probably went for Lennon but I'm not certain. I am certain that Barton knew what he was doing.

emmm, good, his business is our business now, if he's a b****** i want him on the inside of the tent pissing out, all that's needed from him now is some serious investment in players/staff and it'll take a lot to convince me he wasn't manufactured in an 'amazing owner' factory If Carlsberg made owners they'd probably make them like this.
-
At this rate we'll have more Ashley threads than the mackems.

The only noises from Allardyce were the early ones when he said things were not moving quickly enough, he also said that it was understandable considering what was going on at the time, the other comment was how he'd been backed with more money than he'd ever had in his managerial career, or words to that effect.
-
I guess we'll never know, I don't think any more players coming in would have helped anyway, we're still trying to find a bit of stability with the ones who came.
-
Dave Bassett and Graham Taylor must have been brilliant managers.
-
The other £10 million was spent on Enrique, Faye and Beye. I'm not saying that he didn't have to wait, he may have wanted to replace a midfielder with another midfielder, I've said he didn't have to sell to buy, nothing has been said to suggest that was the case.
-
Can somebody point me in the direction of all this success Allardyce had at Bolton? Sorry but I can't find it anywhere.
-
Smith was signed before Dyer left, we held out for more money if you remember, we also spent another £10 million after Dyer had gone and Smith had arrived.
-
Anybody with a bit of sense would rather be anywhere than around a riot.
-
Sam was given every player he wanted that agreed to come here.

This is just an attempt to baffle everybody with the over use of words.
