  1. The lease was for £150,000 a year, I don't know if they renegotiated it before bailing out.
  2. Most threads go off topic so I wouldn't worry, others can bring it back on topic if that's what they want to do.
  3. I've just read it again, you're right.
  4. Read todays Sunday Sun, Ashley is away next weekend on business. http://icnewcastle.icnetwork.co.uk/newcastleunited/sundaysun/tm_headline=mike-warned-don-8217-t-get-shirty%26method=full%26objectid=20057479%26siteid=50081-name_page.html
  5. I can only comment for myself, I like reading and learning about things, pictures are just an easy way to make money without having to put too much effort into it.
  6. I'd start a fit Dyer before the Smith we're seeing, he's done nothing.
  7. Yes, before you say anything, I was given it.

    You're not alone in that.
  9. Shearer only has good things to say about Bobby in his book, a book which is crap by the way. I don't think I've read a book so quick in my life. For those who can't read, the Shearer book will be perfect as it's mainly pictures.
  10. It's good that once the dust settles we can see all of our problems at the back are not down to one man.

I don't really want to turn this thread into a board/bored thread but you've asked some questions which I'll try to answer. I think it's far too early to judge how things are going to go under Mort, all I know is that so far we are better off, I have no idea how things will turn out long term. I'm confident that everything that has been done so far has been the right thing to do. Ashley took over the club and has so far reduced the debt to a level which we should be able to work with. I don't want this club to be relying on Ashley pumping money in to finance the club, I want the club to move on and become self-sufficient and be able to finance whatever the manager wants to do without having to get out the begging bowl, to that extent I think we're much better off. I'm surprised that you can't bring yourself to acknowledge that. I think both Dyer and Solano should have been replaced, I think both brought something to the team which we no longer have and we're suffering for that. Dyer had pace which had the opposition worried and Solano had creativity which I'm yet to see this season. I think our defence has improved individually but not as a unit, I think that is down to a lack of understanding between the players and poor tactics/formations by the manager, I hope he learns from his mistakes. I don't think I've said anything controversial in that post so let's keep the thread on topic, Alan Smith.
  12. To be fair to you it might end up as quite a good prediction to what we actually put out rather than your wish list.

I don't know how you managed to get them into this thread but well done.
  14. Agreed and I said the same before a ball was kicked this season.
  15. Some people might want change because of what we've had in the past and who is to say that they are wrong? I've seen nothing to suggest that Sam is the man for Newcastle and seen nothing to suggest we can't get better. I doubt we'll change him soon and I also doubt we'll get rid before having a replacement ready to come in, I don't think we're that daft, I hope we're not.
  16. I'm not sure that the job Allardyce has today is the same job as he took on, he took on a job that was with a club hindered by debt. I would say most fans understood this and were willing to give him longer than they probably are willing to give him now. Expectations have changed because our circumstances are not the same as they were when he came. I expect more from him now than I did when he was first appointed and I'll not apologise for that. He has more to work with and should be able to produce more because of that.
  17. 8th to 13th was my prediction under Roeder, I would hope for better under Allardyce.
  18. Is it possible that the derby means different things to different people?

The little movement is also the reason that Harper takes an eternity to play the ball, he's looking for people making space but they're not doing it. I usually sit to the side of the goal but have noticed when behind the goal that he's looking all over for movement which isn't happening.
  20. Cacapa is getting some stick but he wasn't the only person to blame for yesterday. I think it was Faye who made a shocking pass for the second goal but he's got away with it because Cacapa was involved in two of the goals. Cacapa made two mistakes which were punished, he was just unlucky. Rozenhal was shocking against Derby but was wasn't punished, now he's the best thing since sliced bread, sometimes it's down to luck if you are punished or not. I'm sure Cacapa will get over it as long as he's given a chance. I think when he's been on his game he's been our best defender and reads the game really well, I hope he's not slaughtered for one bad game. We gave the ball away and were punished for it, we've got to learn to keep the ball and play safe football when we try to get rid of it when we're under pressure.

    Jose?

If we lose I think a reaction will be more to with how we lose. If we go out and try to win then it's not the end of the world, if we try to defend a 0-0 and lose then I think questions will be asked. I'm sure Allardyce will have the players up for this game, his approach is the key issue for me because I think this game is a game we can and should win.
  22. That's not a limited budget, it's what he and others spent. How do you know he didn't have more money to spend if he wanted other players?
  23. How much was yesterday down to the way we've played previously? We've been winning at home then playing a totally different game away, a game which has seen us lose to teams we should be beating. I would think yesterday had something to do with that, we're also changing our team too often, we've got no stability from one game to the next, either in personnel or tactics. Players need to be comfortable in what they are doing, they need to be confident in each others play, I don’t think they are at the minute and that is down to the manager.
