Midfield has to be priority after keeping Rondon (assuming Perez stays). If Schar is our 3rd top scorer and Clark 4th then we have a serious issue in the middle third.

Must be faked, Andy Cole is smiling
-
Fingers crossed they hold on, really wasn't looking forward to having to choose between spurs and Liverpool in the final. Ajax all the way now

Fumaca. Geremi had enough half decent games to not be on the list, even Smith had a couple of performances in the championship. Maric based on expectation would be a shout (as always I can only reference the premier league era with any sort of memory) along with Duff and pre-overhead kick Nicky Butt

Your Newcastle United player of the season 18/19

Rondon for me, his direct and indirect impact on games has been the difference in staying up and going down Schar's had great spells, as has Perez. Longstaff was great for the entire time he played, but unfortunately this was too short a period. Dubravka has generally been solid but had an iffy few weeks Haydon probably comes closest to Rondon for me, but again only half a season -
He's good aye, bit of an all-round midfielder. Did cost a canny bit from Lille like, £15+ million iirc. Must be nice. No it was definitely Lille

No less contact on Sokratis there as there was on Fabinho, yellow card for diving
-
I get that TAA shouldn't have been sent off, even if I think the rule is wrong, but should Fabinho now serve a ban for successful deception? And under the letter of the rules should Milner have had 2 yellows instead of one?

Premier League era the answer has to be Marcelino

Bramble was a beast for 89 minutes

Smith made his debut as a striker in pre-season, scored a header as well iirc, I know I mentioned Bridges, but really the likes of Bridges, Smith, Luque, Cort don't deserve to be on the list as it was injuries that did for them. The moniker of worst striker should be reserved for those who simply never had it or just couldn't be arsed, not for those who never really had the opportunity.

Not wanting him out but rather want him to install a footballing director of sorts. He's amazing at the financial side of his job, but he's been making footballing decisions which have hindered the club, such as not wanting to pay £40m for Alderweireld and £50 for Perisic. Join the club, we'd baulk at 50 quid for Perisic as well, at best we'd low ball at a tenner

No mention for Ranger yet? Possibly more as there was expectation there, to the point I recall a small clamour for him to be playing ahead of Carroll first half of the Championship season. And despite obviously being a decent player, did Michael Bridges actually contribute anything in his time here?

howay man Wolves have beat Arsenal and Chelsea and got a draw with City there as well. Everton beat Chelsea and Arsenal at Goodison and got a draw with Liverpool. Are we going to pretend they're not good sides and very hard to beat at home? you basically used to own goodison man, and wolves are a newly promoted team playing against your half a billion pound corporate machine you've a fair point on fixtures, was more the contrast of current expectations vs. reality, but you've just handed the job to solksjaer it's no fucking good making excuses...manager of a club that size should be getting results, it's that simple We used to own Goodison because we used to be the best team in the country by a mile. We're not now. It's as simple as that. We haven't come close to winning the league in 6 years. Expectations need to be lowered. Why? You were the best team in the league and acted accordingly. If you now accept that you are Europa/maybe top 4 and act according to that you (generic, not specifically) will soon be telling the world that Man Utd are no longer a top 6 club and expectations should be lowered to mid table. Facts are in the eyes of many Man U are still one of the biggest clubs in the world with a revenue stream to match, you should Billy Big Bollocks with this, not accept that you are yesterdays men.

If City win all of their games then I see Liverpool doing the same. However should City drop ponts I also then would expect to see Liverpool do the same. There's no pressure on Liverpool as it stands, win all their games and probably still don't win the league, the pressure comes if they have a chance to influence things.

Bellamy says hi also.

Do us all a favour mate, and keep your promise to stay away - Ashley or no Ashley You contribute f**ing nothing - to this forum or to the club. I struggle to see from your craic on here what you can possibly offer to wider society. Even sat whining in your easychair, you're a waste of the stale-fart air you breathe. I could be wrong, but isn't HTT pretty much the reason that this forum exists in the first place?

Costing Liverpool the title, followed by every pundit claiming Liverpool fans would rather lose the title by getting 4-3, than losing the title getting beat 1-0. Every pundit has to be repeat this no matter if it's relevant or not. Imagine Rafa reproduces the 5 v 1 against Spurs again like we did in our last home game that season If he pulls off another Man City against Liverpool wouldn’t that make it something like his 7th win against the Big 6 as Newcastle United manager? Not bad for someone that doesn’t even try to beat the Big 6 according to Skysports Or the Chelsea game from last season or the West Ham game from the season before. We seem to have a bit of a roll going on our last home game of the season

Same scenario at Leeds away in the fixture a few days after we won 3-1 at Highbury. Took us to the top of the league that one didn't it? -
Watched the .co.uk extended highlights for the first time this week. Have to say the mashing of video with the radio commentary has been done well.

I said this a few weeks back in another thread, but based purely on the timing of events we should have picked up another 2 points at Cardiff, 1 at home to Wolves and 2 away at Wolves. You can add another point at Old Trafford onto this as well that I forgot about. Nothing to do with refs, nothing with decisions just purely the timing of goals/misses that we should have seen through.
