  1. Yeah I'm struggling to see why Rafa would head for another job unless he knew there wasn't a takeover happening. I don't buy the argument that the new owners might not want him. It makes absolutely no sense. From a cold outsider point of view... you are buying a club and want the quickest route to success. Do you take Rafa who is a pragmatist and who's methods take time or Jose who gets an instant impact? Cold view remember, no thought on connection with the crowd etc just quickest impact. I can see why someone would think that, even though I don't agree with it.
  2. Custard Cream is more of a reliable holding midfield biscuit and I'd worry that Malted Milk is a little light weight upfront. Otherwise like the look of that
  3. - Grab can of Coke from fridge (other fizzy pop varieties just as effective) - Open Can - Drink
  4. Are people happy to have Gingerbread men in with the biscuit? If so top 5 5. Chocolate Hobnob 4. Fox's Classic 3. The humble custard cream 2. Gingerbread Man 1. Fox's Crunch Cream
  5. Not if it's anything like your username. Your username on the other hand...
  6. Well the topic now has a key change akin to a Westlife song
  7. Changing the date not significant in itself, the 30th June is an odd date to choose but would fit for a football club
  8. As was mentioned cake goes hard when stale, biscuits go soft. My favourite VAT case was to determine whether Jaffa Cakes were indeed cakes and therefore have 0% VAT or chocolate biscuits and therefore have the full 20% VAT on them (Cake is a staple food, biscuits also a staple food but biscuits covered in chocolate are luxury items). McVities sell Jaffa Cakes in biscuit aisles in shops rather than with other cakes (more people shop in biscuit aisles) and package them as you would a biscuit but say they are cakes. HMRC said that if you want to sell them as biscuits they are biscuits. Case went on for days until a plate were left out overnight and someone spotted that they went hard over night - voila cake. So basically it is a cake because the law says so There are similar cases surrounding normal chocolate and cooking chocolate - Kinnerton lost a case last year that cost them £250,000 in back VAT. #bestpostontheinternetever
  9. What is standard practice? Yes it is a standard process to change financial year end away from the one first set on incorporation - I've done it myself this year for the company I work for. 30th June is not a common year end though, it would only really be used where it suits the business cycle. I'd suggest it fits a football club pretty well
  10. cba to read back, but I love telling the story on why Jaffa Cakes are VAT free and how the decision was made in court. One for a rainy day
  11. Think they will both go. Rafa will get a good offer that works for him before the takeover is concluded and takes the bird in the hand approach
  12. I like Perez and he is a vital part of Rafa's team, but I'd love to see Almiron on the left, Rondon in the middle and Ben Arfa on the right. Fuck defending, start on the half way line and tear it up
  13. So that's Michelle Gayle to add to Sonia and Gail Platt but we need nudes to make it relevant. Who next? Spuggy?
  14. Virgin Money was OK, but you're really going back to Brown Ale, with an honourable mention for Centre Parcs
  15. Just to give the end of month a bit of credence, it's the financial year end on the 30th June and it would therefore make sense for it to change hands then. Nothing stopping it being agreed and announced before that though
  16. I agree with all of this, but the one point that was not known was that the mortgage became payable almost immediately on a sale. This would however be clear with 5 minutes reading of the loan document so it's no excuse
  17. But Betty Rubble... You would wouldn't you (obv not the Rosie McDonald version)
  18. We are likely to get one of the top 6 though aren't we as the fixtures tend to keep last seasons top 6 apart first and last game (lifted from F365). Spurs or Possibly Man U would be my guess based on that but would love a home game against one of the promoted 3
  19. There's a common theme with the cheap striking targets Ashley is so fond of
  20. I can't see there being a Midlands derby first weekend, and would the sky games be announced so early?
  21. Daniel James going from £4,000 per week to £67,000 per week with his move based on 5 months of good performance Back to the Championship within 3 seasons
  22. I've heard whispers that they are actively being touted around for a sale with a quick deal being preferred
