  1. Heard on the radio earlier that the cup final is on his birthday. It's going to be intolerable isn't it?
  2. Hoddle ain't the worst option we could end up with but his record isn't steller and there's a reason he hasn't had a decent job since 98
  3. http://media.giphy.com/media/XHsnuaGQsSuPu/giphy.gif
  4. 2 Games before ACON isn't it? Would be wrong to either let him play in those 2 or split the ban around the ACON
  5. Not a chance of Bruce coming here, if its a Geordie it will be Beardsley
  6. So here's my theory on Ashley.... He came into the club to enjoy it, become the best and make money for SD - that's what he does with everything. Things went sour after he stupidly stuck with wise over KK, but lets not forget that he did try to talk KK out of quitting and then the enjoyment went. relegation was also an eye opener and this, along with the City takeover, took away any chance of becoming the best. So this left making money for SD as the last remaining objective, which would be achieved through (a) decent premier league finishes, (b) as much exposure to SD as possible and © maximising player sales. There have been a few changes to this format over the past few years - the Cisse signing was the last throw of ambition we've seen but I'm pretty sure that the lack of ambition in cups and hatred of Europe came from Pardew first and Ashley was happy to go along with it as it meant less outlay. So.... if we get a manager like Sherwood who believes his own hype in how good he could be, or Laudrup who has won silverware in this country then I can see less resistance to cups and Europa League going forward. It could also mean that he'll listen to Carr and others around the club who want to take it forward and demonstrate how he can make more money that way and we'll go for a De Boer. Or alternatively this is bollocks and its Beardsley, Gerry Francis or David O'Leary
  7. He wont bring McCoist here, its more likely to be Beardsley than him. If (big if) there is an intention to sell at the end of next season then Ash will play it safe to protect Premier League status - I'd wager that he'd want as high a finish next year as possible to maximise the sale price/interested parties
  8. as long as they bring Benny back I don't care who it is. It will be great to be able to watch a game without conflicting emotions on us scoring again
  9. We need JFK back to negotiate a suitably low release clause to make sure this happens
  10. the only problem there is that you cant get rid of said players when you get relegated and then end up trying to get promoted with them
  11. Sounds like a real team goal there - I take it Colback was there but didn't really do anything?
  12. Is it just me or does Sanchez have a touch of the guy from Hollioaks who dated Rachel Stevens? Jeremy Edwards I think his name is
  13. Agree 100% but they are similar types of player and a type of player that will never be a regular under the current fraud of a manager. That's where the comparison comes in
  14. See Ben Arfa, H for a suggestion that no matter what Cabella did he would never be a regular starter in this team. Perez will be on the bench come Feb
  15. Remember the hope this gave us: So close to being the highlight of the year
  16. 6 points before the end of Feb (burnley and villa at home) or is that optimistic?
  17. Thinking ahead to the bizarre subs - Rivière for Anita at half time, cisse for Armstrong on 65 and Cabella for Perez on 89
  18. Remember when we used to moan that he would only get the first hour or last 30 mins of a game?
  19. How long until the media realise that bar a blip of a year in 2004 (?) Liverpool have been irrelevant as a 'top top' club since the mid 90s. No young players will know/care about how great they were pre Premier League and the Champs League win is very much a blip.
