Stick a dominant defensive midfielder in and I think we would have less need to invest on centrebacks. The left side needs work and money spent on it as do the number 10 and striker positions - I like Gayle but he needs competition. Goals keep you up and we know that Raf will have a well organised team that wont be dominated in many games - especially outside the top 4 teams. I'd be tempted to loan Mitro to a German team if we can get a good replacement. Give him a season in a decent league to see how he develops.

Tim Krul (now playing for Luton Town)
Colos Short and Curlies replied to Wallace's topic in Football
I dont know about that. I see it as we had 2 injured keepers on the books and Krul was the one who we could loan out for a year more easily to get the wages off the books. It also gave him the opportunity for game time - somethng which Elliott has not had with him staying. Its all down to how strong Krul finishes the season, if he doesn't recover form he'll be off, if he does then I can see him back and fighting with Darlow and another -
I reckon he meant it.

Karl Darlow (now playing for Leeds United)

Actually I trust Darlow a lot more when the pressure is on and he is being constantly called into action than I do when he hasn't had a lot to do for 10 minutes or so. -

Everton would be the ones I would be wary about Could see City putting a higher value for a sale to Liverpool and the Rafa fact should see of West Ham -

Krul to Chelsea, Begovic to us. Replacement sorted -

I'd go for Hart personally. Can't see City wanting stupid money for him and they are more likely to want to sell to us than say Liverpool. -
..but how many games were defeats...?? We've lost one match this year in the league and look at some of the overreaction. Remind me how many times we have come from behind to get points this season... Three. Twice in the last three games. ...and to get THREE points..?? You can't keep moving the taget until you get the response you are after - if the answer had been 4 (for example) would you then be looking for 'ah but how many of them were wins by more than 3 goals in the end?' Fact is we have been shite when behind this season, fact is also that over the past couple of weeks we have shown more fight in salvaging something where in previous games we haven't. Surely this would give rise to a little more positivity that if we were to go one down tonight we would have something in our locker to rescue a point? (which wouldn't be the worst result in the world anyway...)

Who lit the Fuse for all these chocolate puns?

Would scrapping the league cup improve the FA cup? I also think no replays in the FA cup would be good, I get the argument on replays generating money for smaller clubs but if nothing changes it won't be long before there is minimal financial benefit from the cup at all

Newcastle United transfer rumours in the press
Colos Short and Curlies replied to Kaizero's topic in Football
There's one in Paris -
Its like he was praised as a 5 year old for taking a touch to stop a ball before doing anything else but was never able to grasp bringing a ball under control whilst running. Keep to what you know best and all that

If they ever make a film on Klopp then Stephen Merchant is a shoe in for the lead role

Memroy is a bit hazy but I do remeber Neville (G) being just a little bit shit when he first started and got dogs abuse in the press - to the point where it was written that we should play a perma injured Rob Jones ahead of him for Engalnd. Of course he turned it round, and should therefore understand where Karius is. Carragher was also shit for years

Think it's sold out mate unless you buy a half season ticket. Balls! How dare we have a full stadium!

Looking to take in the Sheff Weds game on Boxing Day with the better half. My first visit since Pre Bobby and her first ever. Areas of the ground to avoid / best place to try and get a ticket?

Could possibly see Anita at right back, Yedlin right wing, Dummett left back and Atsu left wing. Gouffran is more likely to play than Ritchie imo, but then again he played the full 120 on Tuesday wheras Ritchie had a little breather. I'd personally go 2 up top on Friday with a more control minded midfield. Give Forest something a little different to think about and provide Mitro and Gayle a chance to get back on the scoresheet. Whatever we go with I can't see past a tight win for us though.

Why let facts get in the way of a good story eh? -

Rafa did bring in Gary Mac to Liverpool as an old head, but I can't see a 38 year old being brought in, especially when Lampard has never dominated games or dictated play, he is (was) just extremely effective at the end of moves
