  1. Nothing, I said it was unreasonable 😀 It's just (I'm in one of those moods) a continuation of the never ending cycle of the we only buy premier league players, but these players are good, but look at what we've spent overseas, oh yeah those players are also pretty good, but but look at the premier league premium we pay argument. Personally I don't think we as a club have ever got a medium term transfer strategy right, going right back to Keegan. We have good windows, sometimes 2 or 3 in a row but they never seem to follow a longer term plan and we're always prone to a summer in South America buying Bassedas and Cordone (was Gavilan the same window?), a summer buying cast offs like Butt and Carr or a few buys who just do nothing for us (hello Ramsey, Elanga, Ramsdale). Maybe Wilson will be the guy but we have been crying out for a DoF long before they became a thing
  2. We did, but if you wanted to be unreasonably pointed in the argument you would counter that his first choice striker was from the premier league (Pedro) and we only went for Thiaw after missing out on Guehi last summer
  3. The hypothetical was 9-11 and no cup, to which I replied. And of course players will be sold, some of whom we as a fan base would really rather not. It's a lot easier to bring in players to replace them and who have potential to kick on further when you have Europe as a selling point though
  4. No Europe (so no cup and 9th) just opens up the door for Tonali, Hall, Tino, Thiaw to look for a move. The only saving grace is this summer being a world cup year so less pressure to be playing at the highest level next season. On the other hand, a WC summer is not ideal if you are looking for a bit of a rebuild, especially for a coach like Howe who needs training pitch minutes
  5. Stop gap stick Tino LB and have Miley have a good run of games at RB
  6. In this current mini run we'd do the battering and come away with the loss
  7. We should be looking at bringing Neves in, only 6 months left on his contract i think. If I was Barnes I'd be looking for an exit, so if look to flog Gordon to prevent that
  8. No he doesn't He deserves to the end of this season but of there are no clear signs of progression it's absolute stupidity to keep him here effectively on trial for the start of next season. There will be a number of managers available this summer, we can't afford to miss out on a Rafa or Jose to end up with Souness again
  9. League we're not in contention without a serious uptick in form Champions league will be playing offs and let's be honest it's an adventure with no realistic chance of winning it. Just one to enjoy. League cup, yes agreed FA cup, that's a stretch to include seeing as we haven't had our first game in it yet 🤣
  10. Yes, he got his hand to it - not just fingers. Forget the eyeliner, he got there. Not a strong enough wrist and this is one that Pope keeps out
  11. Wolt, Wissa at Burnley. He'll not do it, but if Eddie threw a 4-4-1+1 with them both we'd blown them away first half today
  12. RUHRLYASLEEVSUP liking both posts, basically just egging on a fight from the sidelines here to liven up Boxing Day
  13. Hearing rumours that Eddie overdid the mont Baileys last night watching the Gladiators special. Ramsdale Miley Thiaw Schar Hall Sandro Bruno Murphy Barnes Wolt Wissa Gordon was in but he drunk messaged Jason with a motivational speech on how he was going to carve the turkey much better next year and Tindall flipped out
  14. He's also the man responsible for Big Joe's rebirth as a midfielder being the one to self Clarke off. Amazingly thats the only Toon player he has shown a red card to
  15. He was a club director and is still heavily involved with the club. I don't think he should be in charge of Manchester games, either city or the other lot, but that's just proximity to where he lives rather than anything else
  16. I think he is genuinely an Altrincham boy, but his proximity to Old Trafford just puts unnecessary pressure on him
  17. There's a strange connection with all the North East teams and South Americans. He's a special bloke is Bruno. Forget the football aspect he is just a bloody nice bloke as Tim Nice But Dim would say
  18. The karma is surely that if Sweden navigate their play off Isak is likely to miss or be really unfit for what should be his prime world cup
  19. Waiting for one of the press goons to report that the fee was dependent on Isak playing 30 games this season and scoring 16 goals. Or that there was a leg break clause

  21. So what you are saying is we should have brought Murphy on and pushed Schar into midfield 👍
  22. Costa has 18 months left on his contract. What sort of fee will he command in the summer?
  23. Barnes scores that in the run he had before he was taken out of the side for Gordon.
  24. Pope maybe saves the free kick but on the other hand Ramsdale doesn't concede that brain fart against Marseilles. The biggest thing with Ramsdale is that he seems slow when diving from a standing position. See the Neto handball 'goal', he was on the same slow motion that he was for the second Spurs goal. Thought he was decent enough today overall
