they’ll be on about the Burn block no doubt. cant recall any other contentious decisions for them, a few bookings first half but all justified imo -

the VAR review was at least 30 seconds -
5 minutes injury time signalled, a var review and delay on the free kick. Blow at 5 mins. of course

I don’t think it’s an anti us thing tonight, it’s a stop city winning another league thing and we’re just the innocent victim

I don't think you are right there. Easy numbers, he was bought for £50m over a 5 year deal so £10m drops away each year. In this year we get a hit of £10m so again for ease this is year 2 of the contract and we sell for £50m. Sell in June - book value = £50m - £10m - £10m = £30m. Sell for £50m = profit of £20m Sell in Jan - book value = £50m - £10m - £5m (50% of the year) = £35m. Sell for £50m = profit of £15m But you then need to look at the cost before sale which is £10m (i.e. amortisation) in the first scenario (so £20m - £10m = £10m net profit in year), for the second its £5m so £15m - £5m = £10m net profit in the year)

If nothing else the handover is then 2030 and I'm sure they'd love to have a European winner in the hand over glitz, or they may of course just hoover up a load of past t he prime a listers in 2029 to promote their league -
Finishing is a skill that can be taught, the difficult bit is the mental aspect where you can't replicate match conditions/pressure in training. I do wonder if some of our attacking players struggle with how they are being asked to play/what they are asked to think about on the pitch and this does have an impact. Just look at how often a new manager goes right back to basics and all of a sudden a striker who couldn't hit a cows arse knocks in a half respectable return almost immediately.

This isn't a Howe specific point at all, and it may just be perception but I never feel we as a club are creative enough in the signings we make and also seem to go for safer options. We'd never have signed a Kinkladze for example. I know we've had some gems (Solano comes to mind immediately) who were under the radar but there is real value out there if we were to take a bit more of a risk at times. Difficult to explain the thought process. And this is not an Eddie 'British' thing, Rafa went for known quantities like Hayden and Gayle when we went down. In some ways Ashley bucked that trend, but most of the signings made whilst cheap you knew what you were getting

you know what? I don’t think it would be. yes it would be short term, 2 seasons max but he’d get us top 4 and a cup before it goes wrong. of course when it goes wrong it will absolutely implode mind

I see it in the complete opposite, the piracy issue was resolved because they got the nod that the takeover was about to be pushed through and this was a ‘gesture’ that the pl needed -
Potential Vice Captain next season if his fitness comes back this year? Well it's probably going to be Burn but if Trips and Big Jam leave there is a gap with no obvious candidates

This could be his Hasselhoff moment where he's belting out 17 Going Under as the first swing of a wrecking ball takes place

It’s an absolute master skill to get the giant yorkie right. often come out too stodgy or too thin, but when it’s done right my god it’s a dish from the heavens
