  1. Liverpool is the biggest little village in the world. That's neither a compliment or a dig, just what it is You are either with them or against them, no middle ground. It also appears charming at first but scratch the surface and it's a place full of strange behaviours. Loved my time as a student there, hated the few years after when I was working.
  2. I'm quoting myself here but just adding to that £15m, I'd imagine there was a signing on bit and then a negotiated exit fee as well so more likely £30m when all said and done. Consequence free for Liverpool but a transfer fee that most clubs can't afford to go wrong
  3. I mean there are stereotypical Scousers, there are real stereotypical Scousers. Then there is early 90's Terry Mac
  4. That number ordering is annoying. I'm sure there is a simple reason for it going a-z down to Wrexham then having a bit of a moment - 1-44 being Premier league and championship, 45-64 being a result of the previous rounds, but it looks a mess
  5. Or flip it around. They now can't sack Slot as it would look like Salah has won. Saudi clubs will see this as a Ronaldo situation and wait out to not pay a fee Liverpool knew they needed to replace Salah without receiving any fee this summer, they are now in the same position but have paid him an extra £15m (ish) for no tangible output
  6. Salah should have jumped to Spain or PSG in the summer. That moves gone now as he's under contract for 18 months. He'd have been good for the MLS as well, potential for a deal to be done there where he leaves for nothing.
  7. He seemed gutted after the red card. Like he knew that was the moment and it was snatched away from him
  8. The world's worst overhead kick away from being 5th
  9. The one thing guaranteed in the player ratings Dubravka. 10
  10. I remember Hull City. started like a train, only stayed up due to our incompetence
  11. Need it to be bad enough for a 3 match ban, no 2 yellows here please. Just below the knee, standing foot
  12. I wonder if bringing Gordon and Wissa narrower in a front 3 that sees Wolte dropping off and springing a little trap of pace could get the best of both him and big Nick. I really want W&W in the same team and can't see how we do it with wingers
  13. I'm putting the result down to being one of those things but I think their is a valid point to a change on formation, picking up different players etc deep into injury time may just take that 1% off the concentration levels which is all it takes for something to go wrong. Leaving aside the lack of defending on the shot, we should be winning that second ball
  14. And strangely today was a game where his kicking wouldn't have been exposed. It's a funny old game as someone once said
  15. He definitely doesn't save the first once Romero outdoes Burn it's a goal against pretty much anyone despite it not being in the corner. Second one is just weird, you can just about say he sees it very late but it was so slow that he should have reacted to it. Pope either saves it or stands still
  16. The difference with Klopp is that he's only built one great team at his clubs, Fergie, Wenger and Pep have built multiple great teams. I've said it before about Howe, he built the house that Howe built and won a trophy, champions league etc. now some of the key players he built that team have peaked and he is building the difficult second house. That's the challenge and what will define him as a genuine top manager or one who we put in that bracket but the wider football world dont
  17. That is exactly what we need. A serviceable fullback who can slip in and out of the team, nothing flash but can get forward as well as defend. Willems another example. we probably should be looking at the midtable teams in Spain/France/Germany for the backup to Tino and Hall.
  18. On the naming I was 100% in the not going down the Everton route with a local law firm (Hill Dickinson indeed). Bit then the Hadaway and Hadaway stadium has a nice ring to ot
  19. A lot with the best defenders happen before the game is kicked off. Reputation. Thiaw is quickly getting that rep where it is expected that he will come out on top of the striker, the second tier and below strikers will be beat in the tunnel. Tino is getting there with his tackling, no winger is rocking up to SJP thinking he's going to get the better of him. Hall is slightly different as he's just a pure footballer, he's going to get targeted as someone who dictates our play and his defending will get overlooked a little. All good for us.
  20. I also like how Angry Ando gets with the opposition defence when they are shit. He was having a right go at the Everton back line on Saturday, he's basically just a grumpy old man who very occasionally allows himself a little internal giggle
  21. The other thing I thought he got right was bringing on Ramsey and Willock out wide to give them some minutes in the legs rather than the obvious one of Murphy and Gordon. If I'm being picky id have brought Gordon on 5-10 mins earlier for Nick
  22. And then Lejeune at Everton before that?
  23. a 3-5-1-1 is the obvious one, but I’d like to see a 4-3-2-1 with Nick and Barnes behind Wissa. a lot on the full/wing backs in either case but i can see how we get away with a 2 in midfield in a 4-4-1-1. ramsdale tino thiaw botman hall miley bruno tonali barnes porthos wissa
  24. but when a keeper is quiet it is all about how they dictate the tempo of play from the back and he was miles ahead of anything Pope has done in that respect.
  25. Yes he's exactly a musketeer. Well that and Rudi Voller
