  1. man utd have ferdinand and vidic. chelsea have terry and carvalhio, arsenal have toure and gallas. we have taylor and bramble Chelsea have also has Essien at CB for numerous games and will no doubt be going for one in the summer. The clubs you mentioned already have quality centre backs but still see him as a risk, we have nowhere near their quality so can't afford the risk. I dont agree with you because i believe woodgates too good a player to have as a sub and i cant see mourinho playin him before carvalhio or terry Woodgate, Terry, Cole, 'need a decent right back', Cech would probably conceed < 10 goals over a season Carvalhio is a better defender then Woodgate so i fail to see how the addition of Woodgate to the Chelsea squad will drastically improve them. If anything, woodgate is similiar to Terry in terms of style of play. A relativly fast striker will out pace the pair like theres no tomorrow. Carvalho is crap compared to Woodgate, and certainly isn't any faster, but then again you talking about defensive pace while you w*** over Dawson is beyond laughable. Dear God another slow one here. What im trying to say is that playing two similiar centre backs rarely works. Woodgate and Terry simply wouldnt work where as woodgate and Carvalhio is a much better option. Carvalhio crap compared to Woodgate?? keep dreaming loser. So now you are saying Woodgate is better than Terry? but not as good as King? Some people on here are simply retarded. If you do not get my last sentence then theres really no point. Of course I get what your trying to say, but I also get that it can be taken in more than one way. If you re-read all of the posts a logical conclusion is the you think Carvalho > Woodgate, Carvalho & Woodgate > Carvalho and Terry, therefore Woodgate > Terry

If anything, woodgate is similiar to Terry in terms of style of play. A relativly fast striker will out pace the pair like theres no tomorrow. Woodgate is much quicker than Carvalho. Pure pace isn't everything anyway, Woodgate reads the game so well he can anticipate the forwards movement. He does everything simple, hardly ever goes to ground and very rarely makes a mistake. And despite their injury problems at the back this year Chelsea have only conceded 20 goals. That back 5, fit for the majority of the season would imo half that

  5. You really want to watch Liverpool Chelsea? Its going to be the most boring game of football ever.
  6. Am I the only person to spot the irony in someone called 'kingdawson' claiming Woodgate is overrated. Dawson, the only man Shearer outpaced in his last two seasons at the club. Wow you really are slow arent you. Put tottenham's first choice centrebacks together and what do you get?. Being as you seem as slow as f*** ill do the equation for you, ledley KING + Michael DAWSON = KINGDAWSON Fair enough, I should have realised. I had just (wrongly) assumed that you were as deluded as that other Spurs numpty who posts on here. Just think, next year KD will have to change his username to Kingbramble
  7. He's already said that he'd rathe rplay Owen from the start rather than bring him on as a sub. But what he says and what he does.....
  8. He's as good as, if not better than Ledley King, who many of your lot seem to think is world class. Oh come on, the guy (Woody) made Bramble and Andy O look good. Woody is far greater than King (who himself is a very good defender). If it wasn't for his off the field activities and injury record he would have been an england regular
  9. I'm seriously hoping that whoever gets it gets drawn with the Welsh team so I can see some decent football for once!
  10. it will be Llanelli most likely. They're third at the moment and need two points to qualify, cant finish 2nd and get UEFA. Poor season for them this year, they are the Chelsea of the Welsh Premier (only with Spanish owners) and had a load of young spanish boys there, admittedly a lot have left now. Oh and Richie Appleby plays for them
  11. I never specified which Cole, I could of meant them both or I could have forgotten all about little Joe, no way of proving anything! Him or SWP then, keep it 4 a side
  12. And Chelsea: Terry Fat Frank SWP Cole Bridge Any More? I'd guess then that we'll see at best Terry, Frank, SWP, either Cole or Bridge vs Carragher, Gerrard, Crouch, Pennant
  13. Off the top of my head: Carragher Gerrard Crouch Pennant Fowler Can't think of any others, obviously missing at least one though! Agger and Finnan? Danish(?) and Irish
  14. Off the top of my head: Carragher Gerrard Crouch Pennant Fowler Can't think of any others, obviously missing at least one though!
  15. Aye, recognised the good ol Hearts boys, mate at school used to be a big Jambos boy
  16. I think Optomistic Nut has dusted down his Rothmans history of football 1990-1999
  17. aye that bloke who played for iran with that dodgy tash George Weahs better cousin man
  18. Wouldn't suprise me if Chelsea tried to get the venue switched to London if they get to the final Wouldn't urprise me if the dips complained to UEFA if they lose that because they have won it 5 times they deserve a bye to the final anyway and we get a three way battle
  19. It's a great insult though. I thought it was pretty much common knowledge that SJH had no interest in football, he openly admits that he didn't have the first scooby about what to do with a team, he just trusted his 'MD' as he put it to make the right choices and backed him. Like with the Metro Centre, not a clue about shopping or fashion but a vision of making something to stand out and employing the right man/men to make him his money.
  20. Went to the Adidas shop at Dalton Park the other week, had all this seasons training tops (T-Shirts/Sleevless tops) at £8. Shorts at £3 (last seasons Euro ones) and socks at £1.20 a pair Great for the gym!
  21. It depends where you sit really. In most parts of Goodison and Anfield you can get away with sitting in with home fans but if you went into the Lower Gwladys or the Anfield Rd End as an away fan in a derby then I don't think it would be pretty. Stevie- Liverpool fans throwing stuff is nothing new. We get spit, coins and piss every year because their club lets their fans sit in the tier directly above the away section instead of segregating it properly. Anyway, since when did most passionate mean most trouble? I was in the Gladys street lower tier in 2002 or 2003 (can't remember which) - Gerrard scored early doors. Heard nothing but whinging reds fans! Maybe people were too depressed to kick off. If I'm thinking of the right one it was an early saturday game and a gutless performance by us. I hated that day. Yeah it was an early kick off. Still maintain that I saw more passion in a Liverpool ManU game than the derbies though, though with Everton improving recently maybe this has also changed, its been a while since I was at one
  22. Considering its a semi final of the Champions League contensted by 2 English clubs, has there ever been a semi final with so little interest in the 180 minutes football? The pre/post match interviews are going to be far and away the most entertaining part of this contest. God forbid if the dips manage to come away with a lead or a scoring draw, ITV best get ready for their lowest ever football ratings if that happens. Good way to catch up on some sleep though. Anyway, I hate both teams for different reasons, but I'm hoping for a Chelsea win for 2 reaosns: (1) Anything to stop the dips going on about 6 times (2) Looking forward to the 3 match shootout to determine Chelsea and ManUs trophey haul
