Houllier: The mistake we made was conceding the second goal. He's on the ball this bloke
-
Who squealed like a pig in that Spurs celebration?
-
Bet Nolan loved those highlights. Tiote passes the ball off him, goal. Carroll smacks a shot off him, goal kick. Nolan curls a lame effort, straight at the keeper. Header back across by Carroll, Nolan barely gets on the end of it. Ranger knocks down, Nolan puts it wide. The highlights make it seem like they had 3 attacks 3 goals with one or two speculative efforts thrown in. I don't recall Krul making a save. One of those days I guess.

With this game being so soon after the last, I assume if Spurs appeal Defoe's red he'll be allowed to play this?

So now we're (supposed to be) halfway through the season, can anybody make any sense of it yet? We're somehow 9th when I feel like we rarely win, but I suppose that's the trouble with a poor home record. Fulham, West Ham, Wolves & Wigan seem the definite strugglers, and Birmingham too but they don't seem to ever get mullered or play particularly badly. Villa are absolutely toss, they've just lost at home to a team that had 10 men for an hour. They've got injuries everywhere and the bairns, whilst talented, aren't up to it yet. Probably won't go down but they've got a manager who I doubt very many fans like, and probably won't see out the season if this continues, though I'm sure brummie will have a more accurate view of things. Blackpool are a team to keep an eye on as well, they've got so many games in hand because of their postponements, I can see it catching up with them when they have to play 2 games a week later on in the season, hopefully add a few FA cup replays to that or something and they'll be shagged out by March.

Good luck with Village Idiot. Don't forget Wearside

Boselli is absolutely shit. I went to Hartlepool vs Wigan and said that night he wouldnt amount to anything. Certainly not seen anything to change that view 4 months on

The Indian owners blatantly want Hughton

Gary and Manish on holiday in the same week, what is the world coming to

How the fuck have Stoke lost this?
-
QPR are like every online player ever. Give it to best player. Do tricks. Lose.
-
At least Souness had achieved something worthwhile in the game, this knacker has not and will not
-
On the plus side, Ronaldo will be on holiday for at least a week.
-
That'd be fantastic, drop Tiote for Mullins, it's the only way to take this club forward. Quashie will be with us soon

Is he having a flashback of being at the opticians? Must have missed that Specsavers advert "Shouldn't have been a cunt"

As Kenan would say WWWWWWHHHHYYYYYYYY!?

"He is currently the Newcastle United manager with Ant and Dec as assistants and Gazza as first team coach.[1]"

She should be lined up so we can all have a go at her.

Torres misses tonight's game because his wife's giving birth. Bitch couldn't have held on for 5 days could she?
-
We won't miss Nolan at all here, he was anonymous in both league games against this rabble in the Championship. They keep the ball on the deck and pass it around so Nolan would be chasing shadows in a 4-4-2, might be different in a 4-5-1 but we've done pretty good with 4-4-2 excluding the Bolton horrorshow. Glad Olsson is out, horrible tosser would have spent the whole game trying to maim Carroll, whereas now I think if Carroll can attach himself to Ibanez this is very winnable.

Nolan is meant to be out of next week so that may be one decision he doesn't have to make
-
Normally about 5 games on, now that ESPN got the other rights (Setanta went bust so FA.com showed some last year)

Getting a draw against the champions is a good result, they were only really weaker in central midfield with Lampard & Essien out but Malouda came in there and was very good. Our lads kept going and worked really hard, didn't show that much ambition second half but perhaps that was smart. Krul - Played well, can't kick though. Did well with most crosses/set pieces. Simpson - Not much to say, barely got forward but that's ok. Rarely skinned anyway. Enrique - Just seen he got Sky man of the match, did very well in one on one's. Campbell - Class, read everything well. Tired towards the end leading to his only real error but we got away with it. Taylor - Very good, one or two dodgy moments, was lucky Kalou missed an open goal but wasn't bad at all. Tiote - Great as always Guthrie - Not bad, didn't give the ball away much but didn't create an awful lot either. Lots of sideways passes, which we have Tiote for. Routledge - First good game in ages, wish he'd take on his man more, was great to see him actually go past Cole on occasions. Jonas - Average. If he'd got his head up he could have put Ranger in, plenty of endeavour but as ever, no end product. Shola - Captain idiot. He's such a confidence player missing the chance in the first minute meant it was all downhill from there. One to forget for Shola, who is back to normal. Carroll - Constant threat first half, isolated second half. Good shift from the big lad. Ranger - Useful in the last 20 in games like this/Arsenal, happy to run the channels in the stretched games but wouldn't want to rely on him for goals. Some day maybe, but not yet. Hughton - There was only one team he could pick really once Nolan was out so his only decision was already made in that respect. Was it right to sit off Chelsea once we'd gone ahead? Maybe. Had we made it to half time who knows, we've ultimately only conceded to a lucky deflected goal. No doubt he'll get a panning for being negative but it's a point gained, so let's enjoy it.

That's hardly a patched up back four for Chelsea is it Alan Parry. It's fucking good
