  1. BBC - 1811: Word reaches us from Ghana that a fight broke out this afternoon between some of the Sudan team and the Egyptian media ahead of their game on Saturday. We'll bring you more on this soon. I love the ANC, everyone's mad at somebody and it's great.
  2. Who was that bald guy on Eurosport for the ANC on Monday? Alan somebody, didn't recognise him, had a very camp voice.
  3. Yaya Toure pulls all the strings for Ivory Coast like, no surprise Barca got him in the summer.
  4. Think the only question is Smith or Shola alongside Owen, as I imagine Charlie will continue in the middle with Butt returning and Rozenhal dropping to the bench.
  5. This must be the most low budget presentation team ever assembled. Even for Eurosport's standards
  6. Wenger might change the team so as not to "show his hand" before the league match on the Tuesday, I'm willing to bet he'd rather have the points if he had to choose. Unfortunately, he can play a mix of his 1st and 2nd team in both games if necessary and win comfortably.
  7. Co-commentator was Craig Burley, he's Scottish. And yes he's a cunt of the highest order.
  8. From the moment Bolton won 3 corners from the kick off, you could tell the way the match was going to go. We needed an early goal to ride the wave and when it never came a combination of the most negative tactics I have ever seen and a really fussy ref cost us any chance of getting any momentum going. Milner and Duff weren't holding any width at all which didn't help but even if they had, crosses into the box weren't going to be a worry for Bolton because Shola's a pillock. In the second half there was twice we could have just slipped Owen in, first time N'Zogbia mis hit the pass and it went to Shola who did his usual shite touch and tumble, second time Shola himself chose to pass it calmly outside to Milner instead of just passing it through. Frustrating, but not overly surprising. We looked tired, truth be told. Was thinking about who would have made a big difference if they'd been available, worryingly all I can think of is Viduka's physical presence was bound to have been betetr than Shola's. Emre would have been kicked to shit unfortunately, and Butt/Smith would not have made any difference in midfield. Rozenhal in the middle was decent actually, not great, who knew he could use the outside of his boot like that in that pass he put through for Owen? Still though, he had very little to actually do defensively and was never going to score, so not the easiest game to judge.

Did well tonight. 1 sunny day doesn't make a summer though, and I would class his Man Utd performance as "cloudy" See how it goes.
  11. What a day Was really sceptical paying £20 after the first game but very happy to have done now! Atmosphere was class from start to finish, a real buzz about the place again and the players all looked like the shackles of long ball football had been released and they were allowed to play expressive football again. I was in SJH Middle Tier so couldn't really see the first goal, saw the good work from Viduka and it got bundled in, poachers goal I guess from Owen. The Emre red had everybody up in arms because from where we were it looked like a cheeky trip to stop a counter attack, so when it was red...well Uriah was even less popular. Having seen it again, it was a stupid thing to do with Rennie Henry as the ref so I'm not overly surprised it was red, there's certainly a case for it. I think everybody feared the worst following this but fair play to Pearson, he left the 2 up front and went to 3 narrow in midfield and it paid off. Getting the 2nd so quickly obviously helped. Duff, Milner and N'Zogbia, as Willow the Wisp said, could all have got MotM - all absolutely brilliant, basically played with the freedom of the pitch, and it always seemed to work. Stoke never seemed to overrun them either, which probably says more about them than it does about us. Milner's goal was well taken, and Duff's was a lovely counter attack, something we haven't done enough in recent times. He busted a gut to get there and took it so so well. Zog got Man of the match officially and I can't really argue with that. Owen looked better than he has but still looked a bit off the pace - he doesn't really seem sharp to flick ons, maybe it's the whole lost his pace argument but he just doesn't seem to see them coming anymore. Carr and Enrique did well as what effectively was wing backs, Carr is still fatter than holy hell but did a good job. Shame we didn't get the clean sheet but it's quite fitting really, and it had to be that tit Lawrence who scored... But of course the best part of my day was my 30 second grumpy conversation with PM about how much of a terrible match it would be. I've never been happier to be wrong (That was before we knew Keegan had been appointed!)
  12. Houllier and Shearer could be like a good version of what Roeder and Shearer achieved. Thompson was good for Houllier because he knew what the club was about, Shearer could do a similar job here. I feel dirty for mentioning Shearer, Thompson and smiliar in the same paragraph but you get my gist. Obviously someone who isn't Shearer could work as well..
  13. Just thought, maybe Edgar could play midfield? Hasn't he done it for Canada's youth teams or something? Also, has Rozenhal done it before, or is that a myth that is treat as reality because it's not the worst idea ever?
  14. Emre. N'Zogbia or Rozenhal at a push. Other than that, not a lot.
  15. It is completely mad and would never have thought about it until a week ago, then again a week ago I was all set for the Allardyce 5 year plan. Sense goes out the window at this club, may aswell go with the maddest option to date and see what happens.
  16. Haha I can't believe everyone of our possible holding midfield players is unavailable for one reason or another, only we could manage that. Barton, Butt, Smith, Faye, Geremi, fuck sake. Probably end up playing Rozenhal in there or something, can't see him going with Emre and Zog, but then I don't even know if we have 11 available players
  17. Clear what the plan is tbh. Sound out Hughes, unsettle him so they lose at Bolton. Hughes appointed at us midweek, knows how to beat Bolton now, beat Bolton, fire him, get a new manager every week. Sorted.
  18. Really inspiring pre-match music at the Reebok
  19. Everyone knew we were going out to AZ when Roeder uttered the words "I don't see us having to score" or words to that effect. That and the dodgy pen at SJP.
