I have noticed that Frank Lampard's announcement has barely made any headlines today, it's quite nice to see.
-
I think Perch should start ahead of him at this moment in time.

Good point. We have to get players through the door this month or we will be playing devil's advocate with our league status. Better safe than sorry. Eh? You mean Russian roulette right? I wasn't going to point that out, you heartless b******.

I still have a lot of belief in him. Yes, results are bad. However the performance of the team have definitely been getting better which is very positive considering the recent opposition and the quality of the backup players that are having to play.

The stick that he is getting for straight swapping Shola for Ba is way over the top. He had prepared the formation all week to include Ba in the center and Cisse on the right, an hour before kick-off he can be forgiven for not wanting to switch too many player roles for this week.

Babayaro was just about the most incompetent left back I have ever witnessed.

Spurs wouldn't even be able to pay a third of what Sneijder is currently on. Nee chance.

There might not indeed.

Age? Fatigue? Looks to have put on some muscle? Guess is as good as mine. Just clearly looks like every single year we've had him, he's looked less and less the player we signed. And seriously, just re-watch his Man Utd match the season we signed him. His pace and dribbling looks a shadow of what it used to be. Agree completely and it's very annoying. Even in the pre-season games that year, especially against Valencia, his level of performance was very high - he actually looked like a winger with a bit of flair about him. Nowadays you would think he had been converted from a full-back position.

I would love to know what happened to Jonas post-Keegan era, as he looked a really good player in his first few appearances but right now besides work-rate, he offers next to nothing.
-
Sorry all. Just looked. We're 11th and only 4 points behind Arsenal. Expect an equalizer any minute now. That's that then. f*** me. I'll see myself out.

Is that a werewolf just above Butterbean?

He's a good manager, there is no doubt about it that Europa League, injuries and the constant interruption of international breaks has had a negative impact on how we prepare and how we perform come matchday. The whole club has been very naive this summer, some rather poor performances this year doesn't justify getting on his back imo

Just read from BBC Sportsday.. Harry Redknapp: "I got a lovely text from David - not talking about coming but wishing me the best. He is a top professional but I have never discussed the chances of him coming." In his court case didn't he claim that he was illiterate and has never sent a text message in his life?

Disgraceful That's a bit extreme perhaps

Main thing that gripes me with our policy at present is with all these promising youth players brought every year, next to none of them ever see many first team opportunities. It's difficult to get excited about their arrivals as you fear they will never get used, other than very sparingly. Mehdi Abeid was considered a 'real gem' of a player and he must be 5th or 6th choice CM nowadays. With maybe one start all last season IIRC. Won't go into the others but you get my jist.

The label that 'Simpson offers nothing going forward' is hugely over exaggerated imo, I would hazard a guess his cross completion is a far greater percentage than Santon's. Obviously he's not as good on the ball, but crossing is a big part of being a full back and something that he's not bad at.
-
It sounds like his best position is by far defensive midfielder and he is very inconsistent and wasted at left back. We have an already good central midfield plus Bigi, Abeid and Gosling who are going to be pushing for starts, how can we possibly keep them all happy and develop them?
