  1. Well.. why does it bother you so much? The fight is in Newcastle. It's not the worst reference in the world when talking about the area.

    Nile Ranger

Was a performance to be remembered too. Indeed, I remember how s*** he was And somehow manage to forget how s*** Ranger was in the first half against Leicester, or away at Peterbrough, or in a fair few of his sub apperances. His first senior start, and he later went on to win the MOTM award and a standing ovation Absolute ridiculous debate.

..he refused to play Rubbish, he played for the reserves. Have you all been dropped on your heads or what? Your clueless. Xisco doing as much running as Nile Ranger honestly? just wow. Then to go on about his 'spot on' attitude - when within a year of him being here he refused to play

Ranger has put himself about in every single game he has played in, has set up attacks, held the ball up well. Everyone can see his promise ..especially given his scoring records in lower levels and his maturity for his age. Xisco did precisely fuck all, except score a tap-in, didn't see any sort of ability from him other than looking cumbersome - for £5 million excepted a lot more. Regardless of the fee everyone wanted him to succeed.. just like Luque.. just like Viana. If Xisco showed any sort of promise, fans would have given him time.. just like we did for Enrique.. no? Instead he refused to show up/train - whatever it was - pre-season, sulked and got his move elsewhere. Where he is doing .. not much.

That's kind of a ridiculous statement, a lot of strikers in their early careers didn't set the world a light at the start of their careers, just look at van Nistelrooy, Drogba and Thierry Henry's records. When they were Niles age, they didnt look like 20 goal a season strikers but we all know what they become More nonsense, from the king of bad research. Henry was named French young footballer of the Year at 18 and won the Ligue 1 title a year later. Ye 6 goals in 30 games, showed everyone he was well on his way to becoming a 20 goal a season striker huh? What about Drogbas, van Nistelrooy? did everyone expect them to become so prolific when Niles age? Their record was pretty shocking. So what exactly is your objection

can you tell me the name of 1 player who hasn't deliberatly cheated in a game regardless of wether it's a handball, shirt tug, obstruction whatever. this has been blown out of all proprtion because of what was at stake. had it happened in the group stages at 3-0 to france and the resulting cross had went out for a throw and wouldn't have even got a mention. so this shouldn't matter as much?
  16. He's had the luck of having a lot of money to spend on players Aye, everyone seems to forget that. The man who managed to financially cripple Portsmouth, and who spent £12m on Palacios, £8m on Defoe, £9m on Crouch, £12m on Keane, etc etc. But he's a good "wheeler dealer" apparently. He's as much of a wheeler dealer as I am a member of the US senate. Financially cripple? Portsmouth made a big profit on pretty much every single one of his deals. Erm, think about the wages of the likes of Muntari, L.Diarra, Crouch, Defoe, Campbell, Distin, G.Johnson? He didn't really think well in terms of a sustainable business model. That's why Crouch and Defoe were sold, because they had no choice. Why else do you think Portsmouth had all that money trouble recently? He brought well, the chairmen obviously knew what the wage budget was going to be after all those signings, the fact remains, each one of those players listed did very well and Portsmouth made money from their eventual sales. They weren't forced to sell - as they held out on the fee's. He wasn't responsible for their financial trouble, he was obviously within his budget otherwise those players wouldn't have been signed.

  18. I thought the sarcasm was obvious. fair enough, its getting increasingly harder to detect on this forum.
  19. Why do you ask? When he wasn't playing our results were average at best, Shearer's goals dried up, Souness's results got worse and worse.. whereas he was playing in Celtic - walking that league, Blackburn he was their top goalscorer.. and i think IIRC got them into Europe.. didnt have great deal chances at Liverpool, West Ham did ok.. and doing great at Man City.. how exactly is that doing shite post SJP?
  20. Yes, that's the one. The one who played for us and we always seemed to do better when he was injured and after he left the club, he was s****. are you for real?
  21. When has it ever been suggested that a playback would be used for ever tackle? Total exageration on your part. If a ref is going to ask for a video replay for every tackle, he will soon find himself off the pro list. Be sensible ffs. well it would have to be if it was to be fair or should it only be before goals ? It is used in other sports where the ref is unsure or it is a major decision. Ref's dont want to be shown up for giving pens that werent every week, but they also dont want to be seen as being unable to get the majority of decisions right with their own eyes. I would seriously expect there to be 3 - 4 decisions max per game for a replay decision. If it was going to be more I wouldnt agree with it. I have been a ref and none of them would want to be seen to need advice on a throw in. In most cases after a goal, by the time the players have celecrated the 4th official could have made the right decision. If he cant decide, the refs original call stands. in other sports it isn't used all the time. very much ijust in certain situatians. i'm pretty sure if it had been used in tha way that the the irish wouldn't have complained about the pen they got against georgia after seeing it. edit...i'll pm you a link to the pen against georgia if you want....notice they didn't whine about that ? but did the players of georgia whine? or feel cheated?

So basically if we aren't playing fast passing football he gets a free pass to play shit?

    Jonas Gutierrez

Much needed confidence? he is an Argentine international playing in the Championship .. confidence for this guy shouldn't be an issue in this league.
