Maybe Pompey should have tried playing him
-
Fan-fucking-tastic. Not only was his defending 10/10, but he was so calm on the ball when playing it out of defence as well.
-
He is just a beast man, they needed three players to take the ball off him, and even then they didn't always manage it Love his confidence, he knows he will have a great chance of keeping the ball no matter who tries to get it off him.

Lost for words man Williamson and Coloccini are fucking fantastic, what a partnership. Loved when Arshavin dribbled past Williamson in the box, but Williamson knew Colo had his back and just let him run past him and let Colo sort it out.
-
It's a bloody incredible save.
-
Krul, Tiote, Carroll. Take a bow lads.
-
Even if we get played off the park, sticking with the same XI is 100% the correct move.
-
Considering the hype that's around him, the fact that he's just signed a new 5 year contract and that he's our main striker, I would be disappointed if we didn't get £25m for him.
-
I've been saying this since the Rangers pre-season friendly. He looks a hell of a lot quicker this year compared to last.
-
I agree, however people were complaing about Arsenal's 2nd goal the other night when their offside striker took out Williamson. well theres a difference between bedneter totaling willo from an offside pos while he tried to get back and shola lounging in an offside pos doing nowt There's also a difference between Walcott, the goal scorer, being off side and our scorer, Nolan, not being off side.

I cannot believe what I'm reading here

Awww, cheer up, Steve

This post is not helping.

Anything from this is a bonus. Same team, have a go at them. Can see their CB struggling with Carroll, Shola and Nolan if we can get enough crosses in for them.
-
That was my last NUFC game before Sunday

Very good post Shak, agree word for word. Especially regarding Nolan, who when he played off one striker, he was comparably easy to take out of the game, but now defenders have to concentrate on both Carroll and Shola, which will give Nolan a lot more space between their defence and midfield. I can see him being marked out in games where the opposition plays a good out and out DM who is there to pretty much take him out of the game, but that will leave Barton and Jonas with more space when they drift inside, which both of them tends to do, whether we play this system or a "normal" 4-4-2.

If Ben Ben Ben Arfa says he's been good, then he has been good
-
Who's saying you've been lucky with injuries like? And I agree about the 8th/17th issue. It's scandalous to suggest there's no difference, or even to say there's not much difference. There's a huge amount, and your Brum example illustrates it well and I predict will end up with them retaining their top 10 position.

Mackems 5-1 by a mile. Second would be AIK 1-2 Barcelona back in 99. I still haven't forgiven Village Idiot for that
-
Didn't he have 100% passing on his debut against Everton?
-
BAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! :spit: :spit: Can we rename to Norway? Please? :mackems:

Quickly becoming one of my favourite players. So fucking strong on the ball, and reads the game fantastically well. Very rarely that he needs to throw himself into a tackle, which is just fantastic to see.

Really don't understand how someone can say that there's little or no difference between finishing 17th and 8th. Finishing 8th (or even 10-12 to be more realistic) would have seen us have a much better season than we could have expected, it will show players that we will not be looking at being involved in another relegation battling season next year, and if we sign the likes of Ben Arfa permanently, that we are looking to improve. Would Birmingham have managed to sign the likes of Zigic and Hleb, two IMO quality players, had they finished 17th? I doubt it tbh, neither of them would have liked the look of coming to a club that would struggle to stay in the division. Oh, and how the fuck have we been lucky with injuries? Our best player by a mile has had his leg broken, our number one goal keeper is out for I don't know how long, our CB who has been a mainstay in the team for the past few years has yet to play a game, our first choice RB has just returned from injury and one of our new signings is still two months away from making his debut (though we knew about that when we signed him).

Did you guys get to see the interview with Wenger after the game?
