The midfield, and Bellamy defending from the front (or was Bellamy suspended for that one?) No, Bellamy played. Set up Shearer for the 1st goal and I also remember him nutmeg Coco at one stage.
-
My favourite NUFC-game of all time. Didn't believe it when Shearer got his second. Also when Solano hit the bar on the volley, I remember lying on the floor for the next five or six minutes not being able to move. Some performance and with such a young side (Bellamy, Jenas, Bramble, Bernard). Surely Andy O'Briens biggest moment ever. Andy Griffin will cherish that game and his goal against Juve now that he's playing his trade at Stoke.

You just get the feeling that a manager of Newcastle should always be able to get at least one win from seven games, no matter who you're playing and if it's your first game. I'm sceptical, not sure he can save us.
-
Why not mention Arshavin when they watched Zenit? He even scored...

Can't say I think we've replaced any of these to gentlemen.. http://www.championshipmanager.co.uk/images/img_53.jpg

I think many of our players would feel ashamed of themselves if we get relegated and therefore decide to stay on, at least that is what I would expect them to do. N'Zogbia, Given, Martins, Owen, Emre, Faye, Beye and Enrique would probably leave though.

If we go down, I can see him coming in and doing "a Roy Keane".
-
With us playing Spurs, Hammers, Toffees and Pompey and Liverpool away and then Chelsea at home, I think it's fair to say we have 6 nailed on defeats to..

We're considering Ramage for a new contract, but not Taylor. Am I right?
-
The difference to the Souness-situation is that we had an obvious solution to our problems back then: Change manager. Now, there's nothing else than "turning the corner" that can save us, and for every game that we don't pick up a win in, we're sliding further away from that turning point. Me myself I'm trying to repress what's going on.

Taylor was absolute rubbish today, but he wasn't alone. In fact, I think the first four goals we conceded really demostrated our defensive difficulties First: Poor marking (individual concentration collapse) Second: Not working as a unit (no communication) Third: Rash tackle that missed player and ball (individual mistakes) Four: Sloppy clearances and no pressure (poor communication and poor tactics/player instructions)

Wasn't Steve Rounds title "First team coach" ? Is he assisant manager nowadays?
-
Well of course, I'm not saying that's the only reason, but it hasn't been very benefitial for his development to play in one of the worst defences in the league during his first few seasons in the Premiership, has it? But then again, there are obviously many examples of defenders that have played in poor defensive units and still developed better that Taylor. My point was that there's no reason to get on his back when we have much bigger problems to deal with than one players development..is it?
-
As some people have pointed out, Taylor would have benefited from playing alongside someone like Woodgate instead of Moore, Boumsong, Bramble, Rozehnal, O'Brien and the other shit defenders that have been at this club since his breakthrough. I can't think of any particular games when Taylor has messed up as bad as Bramble or Boumsong used to do, and he's also one of the few players in todays squad that actually gives 100% in every game, something that we'll desperatley need in the last 12 games this season. How often do we have the captain of the England U21's coming through our ranks? Don't see any reason to get on his back whatsoever.

I thought you meant Marcus Bent when I saw the headline.

That's a myth. For Sweden, he's been immense when needed. He scored one of the best goals I've seen against Hungary in the qualifiers for the 2006 WC, in the 92nd minute that won Sweden the qualification, and against Italy in the 2004 Euros he played a blinder and then scored "that" goal out of nothing. As for recently, he scored a brace in the Milano-derby that was out of this world. All of it is youtubeable, and those who doubt his ability should really have a look at it. (But he was s*** last night, but so was every single Inter player). So....When was the last time he scored for Sweden....? He missed a couple of games due to a fight with Lagerbäck, and yes, he hasn't scored in a while. But to suggest he is a player who only does well against poor opposition is unfair to him, that was my point. <No football clips on the forum, thanks.> - that goal against Hungary if you haven't seen it.

We tried to sit back against Liverpool, which turned out to be the biggest walloping of a Newcastle side I've ever seen. So no, Gung-ho please -
Forster seems to be doing well in just about every game, nice to know that we have three promising keepers on our books..
-
What is he saying in the interview on World? Not a subscriber so can't watch it. Supposed to be talking about his summer signings and penalty taker or something like that.

Didn't we have an offer for Terry accepted in the weeks before Roman bought Chelsea? What if we'd not rejected the likes of Robbie Keane and Rio Ferdinand as youngsters..?
