Cissé is such an obvious example of our development under Pardew. In a team that follows an idea on how to attack collectively, he'd score goals. In a team that solely relies on individual initiatives and isolates the few offensively dedicated players on the field, he like many other players, will and has struggled. The players who still deliver in this environment are ones with physical capabilities as one of their main attributes, Ba was and is a very strong player, Rémy has got a shitload of pace. Cissé on the other hand is a poacher with good movement as long as his team joins him. He can't force himself to goalscoring opportunities with physical initiatives. He'd be mad to stay with us under Pardew.

I was at Parc des Princes yesterday and saw him for 90 minutes. Technically gifted but isolated with Mbaye Niang for 90 minutes, couldn't create much and didn't look like a player whose impact we'd be in need of. If he were to replace Ben Arfa as our sole creative hope, I don't see him matching his ability nor offer anything in terms of work rate, based on last night.

We could easily have challenged for Champions League in 2012/13 if we'd gotten rid of Pardew and invested a little bit in the summer rather than January. Of course people are going to feel sorry for Pardew as long as they don't understand the entire machinery going on here, how he's conciously executing Ashley's deformation and suffocation of the club, fitting it to his own standards in order to keep him in the job.
