Looking at the picture Skirge posted and the current kit in his sig, it seems to be basically a mirror image (Swap the black and the white) of the current kit, add a collar (ugh), some god awful short design thingymawotsit and central logos. Those boys at Adidas are really earning their money, I bet that took them about 30 seconds to design. Its a good job nobody but kids buys shorts, I don't know WTF is going on there...whats wrong with black shorts? Ive always prefered simpler kits but modern ones seem to be full of unceccasary details (probably to beat far eastern conterfeiters...). At least most of you who buy this will avoid that monstrosity. I'd give it a 4/10...Altho I'd probably give it a 7/10 if I hadn't seen those shorts

I think he'll probably go back to Everton if we go down. I don't get this viewpoint...why does a midfielder need to be purely attacking or purely defensive to be any good? I think Barton is a good (jeebus, great? have a word) player. I would describe him as a less extreme version of Cahill. Good at getting in the box and getting a goal (not as good as Cahill) but can use the ball and tackle people properly. He can actually use the ball (when Dunne isn't booting 20 yards over his head). Getting a load of stick from some people at the moment tho (Someone actually started a thread "Instead of a SP out campaign lets have a Barton out campaign" before the Boro game where he created 2 goals). I don't really get it as he is one of our few players with any outstanding ability but form hasn't been that great and goals have dried up. Feeling is that he tries to do too much. He does take all the set-pieces (badly) and but a lot of people (not me) think too many attacks go thru him and we suffer for it because he isn't really a creative player. I think he is missing Reyna, he was always at his best alongside him as Reyna would keep it simple, concentrate on keeping possesion rather than owt fancy or too direct and it really gave Barton a platform to get up there and nick something. With Ireland (too weak/inexperienced) and Hamann (too old/slow/shite) he's not really done that much. I think he could work well alongside Parker if he were to play in the same way Reyna did for us but he seems to be far too agressive for that, too busy chasing shadows and whatnot. Emre, maybe but I'm not a fan myself and Parker seems to be the #1 choice for whatever reason. So, no, I don't think it would work that well for yous and wouldn't be worth diverting moneys from the defender fund.

He left Fulham to be near his family. He left City to challenge for Europe. And now he leaves Pompey for first team football. Conclusion: Mercenary cnt. Class player tho, his and Claudio Reyna's disappearance is what has caused City to turn to shit IMO. The twat. > No idea why Pompey are letting him go, he is IMO their best forward. Knee must be knackered still.

Geoff Shreeves is a class act. Last week after we lost to Chelsea he was asking Pearce if he feared the sack, Pearce tried to fob him off with a jokey answer, Shreeves basically told him to STFU and answer it properly (Pearce was nearly in tears). And now this. Top marks for not being intimidated by that twat like so many others.

Agreed, I think he would be useless out of Liverpool's organisation. Hell, he's not that hot in it. I know he's not that old but with all their long cup runs their are a lot of games in those legs. Steer clear, we signed Hamann last year under similar circumstances - coming to the end, in and out of the side, probably got something left in the tank to offer us - fingers well and truly burnt.

Glad that Pearce will be staying, then? No. Just happy we're not getting relegated anymore. Not sure there was really much danger of that, mate. 6 points clear with far better goal difference AND a game in hand. 6 points from 9 games is a hefty ask from the bottom three, never mind much more than that. Charlton were only 6 points behind us before today, our game in hand is Arsenal away, and we just haven't looked like scoring or getting anything, wheras they're full of goals from Ambrose and Bent. ALl it would take is for them to beat us when they come up here and they only need a win and a draw to overhaul us. But as it stands we've overtaken Sheffield United and Wigan, and got a bit of momentum and belief back...I'm very relieved. I couldn't see where we were going to get a point from but we've got lucky with playing Boro's before their monday replay and got a bit of break from a set-piece...suddenly we're safe. Jeez i'm fickle My mate reckons Citeh are the worst team he's seen at the Riverside this season, thought you were abysmal. Still says you deserved to beat them though. Wouldn't that mean that Boro were the worst team he's seen this season?

Pat Jennings scored against Alec Stepney in the 67 Charity shield - straight out his hands from one end of the pitch to the other, bounce, in. Preston's Andy Lonergan did something similar against Leicester not so long ago. Tomas Kuscak(?) conceeded one in a World Cup warm up game last year, I think it was against Columbia. Can't remember it from a free kick tho.

This came up on a City forum...I was all for it but someone made a good point. With all seater stadia, if there's any trouble all it takes is for someone to go and have a look at the CCTV, work out what seat it was coming from and they can easily identify who was sat there. But with standing, people could chuck their bottle of piss and then just go somewhere else, and the authorities wouldn't have a clue who it was. Hooliganism in stadiums has evaropated in recent times, wouldn't safe standing areas act as a license to be a dick? And even if in practice it didn't, would the want to take the chance?

I don't understand the praise this guy gets. Yeah he's scored a few spectacular goals, but he's not that consistent and in the big games he's never really done owt. I can understand he plays for a team that is desperate for a forward to do well and their fans are only going to talk-him-up, but to compare him with a great player like Obafemi Martins? Come off it Seriously tho, I don't think Rooney is that hot but Martins has a way to go. I think he's a really good player to watch but he looks like he can trap it further than Rooney can kick it sometimes. How about: Martins or Berbatov?

Chelsea beat us easily, they didn't get out of 2nd gear and we didn't have a shot on target until their was only 10 seconds of injury time left, but Pearce will probably survive due to the attitude shown by the players and the support. I thought we were s*** again tho, too negative and too direct. We wont score another goal all season playing like this Well mate i thought your team played good tonight, the only problem is that their is no real striker to finish the job, most of the players playing upfront (Miller,Samaras,Mpenza,Micah Richards (last 15 mins) ) are all makeshift striker or (seconed) strikers,City worked hard today but with not real outcome duo to lack of decent strikers.. Anyway,i fully expect to see Pearce sacked, would be suprised if they didnt sack him in the next few days.. The problem isn't a lack of strikers as such, the problem is that all they have to work with are continuous long straight balls that any half decent defender can deal with, and when by chance they do manage to win it, there is no support from midfield, from wide positions, or tonight a strike partner. Pearce just keeps everyone back and gets them to hoof it, I don't know WTF he is thinking, its absolutely mingin to watch and the results are plain to see - 10 goals in 15 home games FFS. That was definetly a dive BTW.

Fucking cheat, he was half way down before he touched him. This is actually one of our better performances, strange how playing 1 up front makes us more positive (midfield runners). Still hoofing it tho My prediction of 0-8 is looking a touch unlikely tho...

Do most fans want Pearce out? I think so. Dead man walking really...the official site even printed todays newspaper stories about him having 4 days (Today and Chelsea) to save his job. Can't see him lasting that long really, hopefully he'll be getting a call into the chairmans office in the morning. ^-^ We played Blackburn at home on 20/1/2007 - We played 5-3-2 and they absolutely murdered us all over the pitch. Too much space for the wingers, too much space for Tugay, and we barely had a shot. Why on earth he thought it would work today Our goal return over the whole season has been pathetic, Pearce's answers to it are worse - extra defenders FFS. And when we have to chase games all he ever does is bring on more and more forwards which never works - in games we've gone behind in this season we have 2 goals, 1 point, and 13 losses. His biggest signing Samaras is our leading scorer (and has a goal or an assist in all but 1 of our wins this season) but every time he has a bad game he disappears for a month and he plays Corradi instead...who is shite. I've wanted Pearce out since we got beat 4-0 at Wigan last year (When he played Corradi up front on his own, Samaras on the wing, and when we chased the game we had our two best forwards Samaras and Vassel on the wing and our two shite ones Corradi and Dickov up front)...tomorrow should be the day, get rid of him, get someone in short term (Mike Basset would be an improvement) and let the new owners sort a proper boss out.
-
WE ARE FUCKING SHITE AND WE ARE GOING DOWN. FACT. Fuck all to do with divisions between players...we barely create a chance. EVER. Pearce hasn't got a fucking clue.

but they can be called up by another country if they have not played for England's first team They can, yes, but why are they bothering? How many players are going to turn down the chance to play for England one day just to play against Uganda? thats what i thought, but my (aston villa fan) mate said he's a bit thick Well Agbonlahor was named in that top 50 English players thingy a little while back and I'm of the opinion Onuoha has the ability to play for the England first team if he could get someone to sellatape his knee back together, I'm sure niether of them will accept the callup. Better not do anyway - Last player we had fook off to the Cup of Nations ended up winning it, got delayed by the Victory celebrations, fell out with Keegan as a result, never got back in the side and was sold for a fraction of his worth. Not a fan! who was that? Lucien Mettomo. I doubt you would know him - he was a Cameroon centre half we signed from St Ettiene back in the days we were battering everyone a million-nil in the first division under Keegan. He was quality, always the name that springs to mind for me whenever someone brings up the "Who we never should have sold" subject. Ended up in the Bundesliga...just looked him up and he's now playing for Lucerne....Might be worth a cheeky bid ^-^
