  1. Am I imagining it or does Schar always get niggles in the worst possible games?
  2. Ditto. Tbh based on my Arsenal fan mate's opinion I just figured it was going to be another Kenedy so by sheer luck I haven't been disappointed.
  3. You can see a concerted effort to play out from the back but after a few sideways passes no one makes themselves available. So frustrating. Does Willock know where he is? Looks utterly bemused as to what to do whenever he gets the ball ffs. Good effort Joe.
  4. A small thing but it was assuring to see his understanding reaction as I can only assume Howe was apologising off camera.
  5. Hopefully that's him officially found out. Thick as pig shit.
  6. Wilson captain is interesting. Had actually typed out a quandary the other day as to whether Howe may overlook Jonjo as VC in Lascelles's absence but didn't bother posting as I didn't think he'd make such a decision so soon. Other than no Fede I'll take that. 32ish isn't he? Maybe they're seeing a decline on the training ground that we're not privy to? All I can think of as he seems a model pro, so strange they he's still not getting a shot.

    Transfer rumours

Even as a non-local I love the pride in the City that's being declared and all. But I hate that it's in response to that absolute melt who shouldn't even be dignified with a response.
  8. Who knew you could take that shit a picture inside SJP. What an unsettling angle.
  9. I don't think people are fearing signings flat out won't happen because we don't have a DoF to make them. More that the length of time it took to make a Head Coach decision and now a DoF and/or CEO decision doesn't bode well for how long it could take the same hierarchy to get transfers done. I'm trying to maintain positivity wherever possible as it's early days but I'd be lying if I said I didn't have a similar nagging feeling at the back of my mind. We as fans have been conditioned to expect the worst for 13 years and I don't blame anyone that hasn't been able to shake that yet.

    Rafa Benítez

He was always on a hiding to nothing purely because of the fans having no time for him. But I'm still sure if the club dare to give him time they'll be looking fine by the end of the season as he proved with us every year when we would finish stronger than most teams in the league. He had to shop in the bargain bin thanks to FFP and player absences seem to have massively hampered them. As others have said, Ancelotti didn't manage any better than 10th with practically the same squad so it's not really much of a surprise that they are where they are. I guess it's easy enough for us with experience of the bad spells to say stick with him and it'll come good but equally I don't think it can be objectively argued against if they did give in and bin him if this run goes much longer. Granted, I may have been a bit out of touch when I told mates he'd get them pushing for Europe at the start of the season. But I've made enough shit predictions before and I'll make a lot more, I'm sure. Watch 'they'll be looking fine by the end of the season' come back to bite me in the arse as well now.
  11. Switched off after the second goal but up to that point I think what I found most frustrating was there was clearly a Howe influence in the attempted style of play, but they just couldn't keep it up. The players wanted to keep the ball, they'd play a few neat triangles here and there. Then Arsenal would press even just slightly and suddenly the ball was back to either Dubs or the full backs to lump up to the Arsenal defence. They just don't know what to do when they've held it for any length of time. Really liked how they started with some strong pressing but they just couldn't keep that up, either. I think/hope it'll come with time. Fingers crossed they can use the next two games for confidence. Honestly, I'm seeing Lascelles and Ritchie out as a blessing.
  12. Congrats, Arsenal. All it's gonna take to get past the only winless team in England is a bent ref.
  13. Okay so I think that's settled. Seems we're getting no decisions from the referee today. Shock.
  14. Dubs is in so I'm happy. It feels good to put my faith in Howe's decisions without needing to rack my brains to work out the reasons for them.
  15. Pure guesswork here but I think a somewhat condensed version of this mess is: - The Trust is avoiding an AGM which is mandatory under the rules that govern supporters trusts - They also refuse to release financial particulars that again, are required under the rules that govern supporters trusts - He thinks they were editing things on the website, as well as retrospectively 'reviewing' processes and procedures related to what he deemed as shady stuff, in the middle of his dispute, to try and cover their tracks - Treated his dispute as a complaint to alter how they would need to handle it - Thinks they broke board member vote rules by not have any form of postal vote available for people who may not have registered an email address with the Trust, and hustings singled out a particular candidate for a question without allowing others a chance to answer or respond. ... Does that sound about right? Not backing up any of his claims as I've no clue, and am not even a member anymore to know what this members update with 'fibs' is. Just trying to make sense of that absolute mess of a Twitter thread is all. May seem an overreaction (as someone in the replies implied) but as a group that are looking to be a major representative of our fans with the new ownership they should sure as shit be raked over the coals if stuff like this is correct. Either way, I'll keep my popcorn within reaching distance.
  16. Ryder undoubtedly had that shite scribbled out before he even asked the question. Tindall could've said no comment and he'd still have probably gone with 'Tindall can't decide between Dubravka and Darlow'. Nothing to worry about, as soon as Dubs is considered fit enough I'm sure Darlow will be back on the bench. I just pray to God that's this weekend.
  17. Nah, we'll win 3-0 with him in the dugout and then they'll reverse the result as retrospective punishment for breaching Covid protocols.

    Sunderland

Is he still integral for them? Is this them fucked?
  19. Now you mention it I'm honestly surprised he didn't fake a positive result at any point just to get some more time off.
  20. Tired of these interchangeable logos already. All such drab shite.
  21. An extra 5%? Is that all? We're fucked.
  22. Wasn't he already starting to go down with injuries before he left for Liverpool or am I misremembering? I think my default has just become that he was always a crock. At the very least, I'm pretty sure he still would've been a mess off the pitch had he stayed up North. Didn't he only avoid jail for assault on the condition he moved in with Kevin Nolan?
  23. I think I particularly feel nostalgic for 2 yearly kits because it feels like the switch to 1 yearly kits coincided with our kits becoming shit more often that not. Probably not helped by Puma taking over round about that time. Was thinking about C) myself and would be interested to see if any comparison could be made of how many sales are lost/gained as a result of the change. I know I've sure as hell never bought a shirt two years in a row.
  24. https://www.brentfordfc.com/news/2021/november/iconic-first-premier-league-home-kit-extended-through-202223/ Brentford using the same kit for two years. Would love to see a wider return to two yearly kits. Shame 99% of clubs are too money hungry for it.
